  • Purpose: The study was aimed to investigate the effects of warm fluid used during surgery on the patients' hypothermia prophylaxis and recovery after surgery. Methods: This data were collected from Jul. 13 to Nov. 31. 2009 at S hospital in M City. 60 patients who met the selection criteria were recruited in the study and divided into two groups. The warmed fluids were used for 30 patients in the experimental group, and the fluids in room air temperature were used for the others in the control group. Collected data were statistically analyzed using SPSS/win 18.0. Results: The body temperatures of the control group were significantly lower during surgery than those of the experimental group (p<.001). Shivering was significantly less occurred in the experimental group than the control group (p=.018). The experimental group used warmed fluids recovered faster than the control group. Conclusion: Warming fluid for the patients with general anesthesia was revealed to be effective in decreasing hypothermia during surgery, reducing shivering, helping recovery from the anesthesia. Further research is warranted to refine and apply this evidence in nursing practice.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of absolute bed rest(ABR) on occurrence of bleeding, discomfort and back pain after kidney biopsy. Method: This study was the nonequivalent control group posttest design. The experimental group was allowed to stay in beds for 18 hour-bed rest(BR) after 6 hour-ABR while the control group was allowed to stay ABR for 24 hours. Results: No bleeding sign was showed for all the patients. Discomfort of voiding, eating, ABR in the control group appeared at a higher level. Three subjects in the control group needed nelaton catheterization, whereas no catheterization was required in the experimental group. There was no significant difference in back pain. However, the control group used more pain killer with significant difference. From these results. Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between ABR time and bleeding. On the other hand, the discomfort of the experimental group appeared at a lower level by reducing ABR time. Therefore, Reduction of ABR time after kidney biopsy would be more efficient way for patients.

  • System on Panel (SOP) can integrate many functions by Thin Film Transistor (TFT) circuits on an insulator substrate without using external driver LSIs. However, to make practical SOP has become more and more difficult because of rapid cost reduction of the driver LSIs. This paper will review the circuit design technology trend for SOP and introduce an example of a practical SOP, 2.0inch QVGA full color active matrix OLED with 8bit source driver.

  • Color dimming technology has been developed for high color gamut and aggressive power saving. In our new algorithm, we proposed a new concept of 'color class', with which it is possible to control RGB color luminance effectively and exactly. We reached color gamut of 155% of NTSC 1976 and reduced power consumption under 100 watt for 46 inch LCD.
