Light detection and ranging (LiDAR), a widely used sensor in mobile robots and autonomous vehicles, has its most important function as measuring the range of objects in three-dimensional space and generating point clouds. These point clouds consist of the coordinates of each reflection point and can be used for various tasks, such as obstacle detection and environment recognition. However, several processing steps are required, such as three-dimensional modeling, mesh generation, and rendering. Efficient data processing is crucial because LiDAR provides a large number of real-time measurements with high sampling frequencies. Despite the rapid development of controller computational power, simplifying the computational algorithm is still necessary. This paper presents a method for estimating the presence of curbs, humps, and ground tilt using range measurements from a single horizontal or vertical scan instead of point clouds. These features can be obtained by data segmentation based on linearization. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm was verified by experiments in various environments.

In this paper, a background initialization for video surveillance proposed. The proposed algorithm is that the background images are sampled n frames during ${\Delta}t$ All Sampling frames are divided by $M{\times}N$ size block every frame. Average values of pixels for same location block of the sampling frames during ${\Delta}t$t are taken. then the maximum intensity $\alpha$ and the minimun intensity $\beta$ is obtained, respecticely. The intial by $M{\times}N$ size block, then average intensity $\eta$ of pixels for the block is obtained. If the average intensity $\eta$ is out of the initial range of the background image, it is decided the moving object image, and if the average intensity $\eta$ is included in the initial range of the background image. it is decided the background image. To examine the propriety of the proposed algorithm in this paper, the accuracy and robustness evaluation results for human and car in the indoor and outdoor enviroment. the error rate of the proposed method is less than the existing methods and the extraction rate of the proposed method is better than the existing methods.
Cicuta virosa is an endangered species in Korea, which is a southern marginal area. To conserve and restore habitats of this plant, we investigated water and soil environmental characteristics and vegetation at four habitats during the growing season. The C. virosa habitats differed in community structure, water and substrate properties, and water regime. Although the total distribution ranges of the water and soil environments for C. virosa were wide and overlapped with the optimal environmental range of distribution of accompanying species, the optimal water level range for C. virosa was defined as $7{\pm}3.5$ cm. Water level was adjusted by substrate structure such as a mound of P. japonica and a floating mat comprised of accompanying species. A floating mat was an aid to maintain an optimal and stable water level in deep or fluctuating water and to prevent strong competition with prolific macrophytes. The GS sampling site, which had floating mats, could be a good model for C. virosa conservation in a warm temperate region, whereas the PC sampling sites, which experienced a water shortage in spring, provided a clue about the decline in C. virosa population size.

This study was conducted to evaluate the trace elemental nutritive values of soil and forages collected from southwestern part of the province of Punjab, Pakistan. Soil and forage samples were collected fortnightly for two seasons. The concentrations of some trace minerals varied greatly among seasons and sampling periods. Seasonal effects were found in all soil micro-minerals except zinc, while forage iron, zinc, and selenium were affected by seasonal changes. Sampling periods effects were observed in all soil minerals and in forage copper, iron, zinc, and manganese only. All soil mineral levels except cobalt and selenium were sufficiently high to meet the requirements of plants for normal growth during both seasons. In contrast, soil Co and Se levels were severely deficient during both seasons and considered inadequate for plant growth. Soil Fe, Zn, Co, and Se levels were higher, and Cu and Mn lower during winter than those during summer. Forage Zn levels during summer were at marginal deficient levels, and in contrast, all other forage micro-minerals were within the required range for ruminants during both seasons. Although forage mico-minerals were within the range required by the ruminants, they were not sufficiently high to prevent the predisposition to various diseases caused by nutrient deficiency. Consequently, grazing animals at this location need continued mineral supplementation of these elements with a mixtures of high bio-availability rather than of high micro-mineral contents to support optimum ruminant productivity.
A novel sampling method of the headspace poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) mini-disk extraction (HS-PDE) was developed, optimized, validated and applied for the GC/MS analysis of spices flavors. A prototype PDMS mini-disk (8 mm outer diameter, 0.157 mm thickness, 9.4 mg weight) has been designed and fabricated as a sorption device. The technique uses a small PDMS mini-disk and very small volume of organic solvent and less sample size than the solvent extraction. This new HS-PDE method is very simple to use, inexpensive, rapid, requires less labor. Linearities of calibration curves for ${\alpha}$-pinene, ${\beta}$-pinene, limonene and ${\gamma}$-terpinene by HS-PDE combined with GC/MS were excellent having $r^2$ values greater than 0.99 at the dynamic range of 6.06~3500 ng/mL. The limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantitation (LOQ) showed very low values. This method exhibited good precision and accuracy. The overall extraction efficiency of this method was evaluated by using partition coefficients ($K_p$) and concentration factors (CF) for several characteristic components from nutmeg and mace. Partition coefficients were in the range from $2.04{\times}10^4$ to $4.42{\times}10^5$, while CF values were 0.88-15.03. HS-PDE was applied successfully for the analysis of flavors compositions from nutmeg, mace and cumin. The HS-PDE method is a very promising sampling technique for the characterization of volatile flavors.
This paper is purposed to develop portable electric instrument to select NI-9223(National instrument comp.) and clamp meter(HIOKI comp.), which can be used in developing electric instrument, to detect leakage current(ZCT) and current(CT) signals. In this paper, The electric instrument that can interface with current and leakage current instrument(HIOKI 9283), is developed by NI-9223 of NI comp.. HIOKI clamp meter can measure current signals certainly by high-sensitivity of 10 ${\mu}A$ resolution(leakage current : at 10 mA range) and current 1~200A range. The NI-9223 use four 16-bit analog-to-digital converters(ADCs) for true simultaneous sampling at up to 1 MS/s per channel. NI-9223 can synchronize all analog input modules installed in the same chassis to share the same start clock and/or sample clocks. The monitoring program is developed by SignalExpress of LabVIEW. The monitoring program are developed to analyze at simultaneous sampling on electrical signals such as leakage current(ZCT) and current(CT). The developed system verification tests were conducted, and portable electric instrument can be used in place which requires analysis of the actual electrical signal.

Inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) images can be generated by radar which radiates the electromagnetic wave to a target and receives signal reflected from the target. ISAR images can be widely used to target detection and recognition. This paper proposed a method of generation of high resolution ISAR images by synthesizing frequency spectrums of each stepped chirp waveform in one burst and sub-sampling in frequency domain. This process is performed over entire bursts during coherent processing interval. Conventional ISAR image generation method using stepped frequency waveform has a severe problem of short unambiguous range, loading to ghost phenomenon. However, this problem can be resolved by the proposed method. In simulations, we generate high resolution ISAR image of the moving target which is Boeing-737 aircraft model composed of several ideal point scatterers.

An all-digital delay-locked loop (DLL) for a mobile memory interface, which runs at 0.11-2.5 GHz with a phase-shift capability of $180^{\circ}$, has two internal DLLs: a global DLL which uses a time-to-digital converter to assist fast locking, and shuts down after locking to save power; and a local DLL which uses a phase detector with an adaptive phase sampling window (WPD) to reduce jitter accumulation. The WPD in the local DLL adjusts the width of its sampling window adaptively to control the loop bandwidth, thus reducing jitter induced by UP/DN dithering, input clock jitter, and supply/ground noise. Implemented in a 65 nm CMOS process, the DLL operates over 0.11-2.5 GHz. It locks within 6 clock cycles at 0.11 GHz, and within 17 clock cycles at 2.5 GHz. At 2.5 GHz, the integrated jitter is $954fs_{rms}$, and the long-term jitter is $2.33ps_{rms}/23.10ps_{pp}$. The ratio of the RMS jitter at the output to that at the input is about 1.17 at 2.5 GHz, when the sampling window of the WPD is being adjusted adaptively. The DLL consumes 1.77 mW/GHz and occupies $0.075mm^2$.

It is important to estimate the magnitude of settlement and the time of primary consolidation in geotechnical engineering projects. For these purposes, site explorations and laboratory tests are usually performed. However, the mechanical properties determined from laboratory tests on the samples obtained by different sampling techniques show different trends. In this study, three types of consolidation test were carried out on the soil samples obtained by three different sampling techniques (76mm tube, 76mm piston, and block samples), to verify the effect of sample disturbance on consolidation properties. It was found that sampling methods have influence on the $\varepsilon$ - log $\sigma$'$_{v}$ relationship. While insignificant difference of compression indices from the samples obtained by different sampling techniques was observed in compression region, these values showed a different trend in precompression region. The values of $c_{v}$ and k of block samples had a tendency to be larger than those of piston and tube samples. At consolidation pressure larger than $\sigma$'$_{p}$, however, these properties became similar regardless of sampling methods. The block and piston samples gave slightly higher values of $C_{a/}$$C_{c}$ than tube samples. In the results of I $L_{EOP}$ and CRS test, it was observed that the values of $\sigma$'$_{p measured}$/$\sigma$'$_{p best estimated}$ of Yang-San clay decreases when strain becomes larger than 1.0% and that precompression strain of block samples is in the range of 1.5~2.0% while those of piston and tube samples are 1.75~3.75%. It was also shown that the values of $\sigma$'$_{p}$ of block samples exceed those of piston and tube samples by about 6~10%.6~10%.%.%.%.%.
The phased array antenna has the ability to perform adaptive sampling by directing the radar beam without inertia in any direction. The adaptive sampling capability of the phased array antenna allows each sampling time interval to be varied for each target, depending on the acceleration of each target at any time. In this paper we design a three-dimensional adaptive tracking algorithm for the phased array radar system with a given set of measurement parameters. The tracking algorithm avoids taking unnecessarily frequent samples, while keeping the angular prediction error within a fraction of antenna beamwidth so that the probability of detection will not be degraded during a track update illuminations. In our algorithm, the target model and the sampling rate are selected depending on the target range and the target maneuver status which is determined by a maneuver detector. A detailed simulation is conducted to test the validity of our tracking algorithm for encounter geometries under various conditions of maneuver.
