Electrochemical Characteristics of Microporous Polymer Electrolytes Based on Poly(vinylidene-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVdF계 미세기공 고분자 전해질의 전기화학적 특성)

  • In order to develop polymer electrolyte for lithium/sulfur batteries, highly microporous P(VdF-HFP) membranes were prepared by phase inversion method. Porous structure was controlled by extracting NMP with mixture of deionized water and methanol. Porous structure of the membranes was observed with SEM. Polymer electrolytes were prepared by soaking the porous membranes in 1M $LiCF_3SO_3-TEGDME/EC$. The ionic conductivity of polymer electrolyte was found to be at high as $2\times10^{-3}S/cm$ when the polymer membrane extracted by $80\%$ methanol was used. The microporous polymer electrolyte optimized in this work displayed high ionic conductivity, uniform pore size, low interfacial resistance and stable ionic conductivity with storage time. The ionic conductivity of polymer electrolytes was measured with various lithium salts, and the conductivity showed $3.3\times10^{-3}S/cm$ at room temperature when $LiPF_6$ was used as a lithium salt.

  • The Purpose of this study is to Present the tourism development Plan of Muan County in relation to the establishment of the Muau international Airport. This study criticizes the stereotypical tourism development plans carried out by numerous loyal self-governments. The highest purpose of tourism is to create an experience that cannot be had In a Person's daily life. Tourism development in Muan must be loyal to this philosophy of tourism. This study raises three key questions: What is the nature of tourism\ulcorner; For whom is tourism developed\ulcorner , Why is tourism being developed\ulcorner The answers to the three key questions are very basic ones. but are not being fulfilled in the tourism development of Korea, as fellows. Firstly, tourism development should be carried out to strengthen the special characteristics of tourism resources. Secondly, tourism development should encourage the participation of local residents within the Process, and it should be helpful to the local industry and the resident's income. lastly, the development should refrain from relying heavily on money-making businesses but seek to enrich the lives of visitors and hosts together. This study presents five distinctive tourism development schemes for Muan. They are as follows: the establishment of a scenic byway leading to the Airport: the development of Hoeshan lotus reservoir as a tourist resort for Buddhists and as a traditional health care center: the utilization of the .Japanese military airport relics as an historical and cultural tourist attraction: the establishment of a salt-water spa complex: and the vitalization of agricultural tourism by utilizing the advantage of the Muan international Airport.

Quality Characteristics of Brown Sauce Made with Freeze-dried Salicornia herbacea L. Powder (함초를 이용한 브라운소스에 관한 품질특성)

  • This research has been conducted to develop the best recipe for brown sauce containing freeze-dried Salicornia powder. For this purpose, we made brown sauces with different contents of freeze-dried Salicornia powder and performed physico-chemical characteristic and sensory test. The highest salinity of freeze-dried Salicornia powder was 0.15% when 1% freeze-dried Salicornia powder was added to distilled water, SP1. The highest brightness of brown sauce was achieved with 1.2% freeze-dried Salicornia powder and was 45.29 with BSP12. More powder led to significant increases of the samples(p<0.001) in salinity and brightness. DPPH radical scavenging increased with greater freeze-dried Salicornia powder. Taste was highest at 6.36 with 0.6% powder and there was no significant difference compared to BSP6 and BSP9. Based on these findings, it was concluded that the brown sauce with Salicornia has antioxidative characteristics and the best salinity is achieved with 0.6% freeze-dried Salicornia powder. Salicornia had enough salinity to substitute salt to a certain degree and improved the quality of brown sauce in terms of the sensory test.

Changes in the Quality Characteristics of Mung Bean Starch Jelly with White Lotus(Nelumbo nucifera) Root Powder Added (연근가루를 첨가한 청포묵의 품질 특성 변화)

  • This study investigates the quality characteristics of mung bean starch Jelly by addition of different ratios of white lotus(Nelumbo nucifera) root powder during 5 days of storage at $4^{\circ}C$. The moisture content of the samples ranged from 86.78 to 88.88%. The L value of the samples decreased as the amount of white lotus root powder increased; however, the a value and b value were significantly(p<0.05) increased. For the sensory evaluation, color and taste were decreased as the amount of white lotus root powder increased. Flavor and shine were not significantly different among the samples. And clarity and elasticity were highest in the sample with no powder and 5% of white lotus root powder. Hardness was decreased(p<0.05) as the amount of white lotus root powder increased. Overall acceptability was highest when using 0% and 5%. Texture profiles of hardness decreased as the amount of white lotus root powder increased. Hardness, gumminess, chewiness were found to drop significantly(p<0.05) after one day of storage. Cohesiveness was not significantly different among the samples according to the amounts of white lotus root powder. Adhesiveness was not significantly different in 0, 5, 10, and 15% of white lotus root powder. Syneresis was increased during the storage period. From the result, the most advisable mixture ratio of mung bean starch jelly with white lotus root powder was 19 g of mung bean starch, 1g of white lotus root, 0.1 g of salt and 160 mL of water.

Seasonal variation in biochemical composition and gonadal development of ark shell, Scapharca broughtonii (Bivalvia: Arcidae) from Gamag bay of Southern coast, Korea (가막만 피조개 Scapharca broughtonii의 생식소 발달과 체성분의 계절적 변화)

  • Seasonal changes in biochemical composition of muscle, gonad-viceral, mass and whole body of the cultured ark shell, Scapharca broughtonii in the Gamag bay of Yeosu city were studied from December 2008 to November 2009 in relation to environmental condition and reproductive cycles. Average monthly water temperature in the winter was in the range of $7-12^{\circ}C$ and $20-25^{\circ}C$ in the summer, while the salinity fluctuated in the range of 30.1%-33.8‰ on the average. Seasonal fluctuation of the concentration of nutrient salt was the highest in September ($13.04{\mu}g/L$) with average annual concentration of $4.6{\mu}g/L$. The main spawning season of the ark shell was during the months of July and August, and the gonads were in inactive stage during the winter. The gonad-visceral mass contained lower amounts of proteins than the other body parts. The most marked changes in body composition were lipids and carbohydrates within the gonad-visceral mass, and protein for each of the organs was relatively consistent throughout the year. All the parts in the visceral sac displayed the highest changes during the gametogenic cycle while the contents of moisture and lipid within the visceral act displayed somewhat inverse relations with each other. Moisture content was the lowest during the inactive stage during which the lipid content is the highest. The lipid content was the lowest immediately following spawning with increase in the moisture content as the lipid is being consumed. Protein mass within the visceral sac was low in comparison to the muscle mass. It is deemed that carbohydrates, lipids and proteins in the visceral sac play the major role as the source of energy during the development process of the gonads, and used for maintenance of base metabolism when available food is scarce.

The Immuno-Modulatory and Antitumor Effects of Crude Polysaccharides Extracted from Tremella fuciformis (흰목이(Tremella fuciformis)에서 추출한 조다당류의 면역 활성 및 항암 효과)

  • Tremella fuciformis, one of edible and medicinal mushroom belonging to Tremellaceae of Basidiomycota, has been known to have a curative effect on sarcoma 180 of mice and lowering high blood pressure of human beings. Neutral salt soluble [0.9% NaCl (Fr. NaCl)], hot water soluble (Fr. HW) and methanol soluble (Fr. MeOH) substances were extracted from Tremella fuciformis. In vitro cytotoxicity tests, Fr. HW and Fr. NaCl were not cytotoxic against cancer cell lines such as NIH3T3, Sarcoma 180, and HT-29 at the concentration of $2000{\mu}g/ml$, while Fr. MeOH was cytotoxic to NIH3T3 and Sarcoma 180. Intraperitoneal injection with Fr. NaCl showed antitumor effect with life prolongation of 53% in mice inoculated with Sarcoma 180. Fr. NaCl improved the immunopotentiation activity of B lymphocyte by increasing the alkaline phosphatase activity by $3.0{\sim}8.1$ folds, respectively. Intraperitoneal injection with Fr. NaCl increased the numbers of peritoneal exudated cells and circulating leukocytes by 7.4 folds and 1.6 folds, respectively, than in the control group. The antitumor effect of T. fuciformis against Sarcoma 180 of mice was likely due to immunopotentiation activity.

Inhibitive Effect of Mouse Sarcoma 180 by Crude Polysaccharide Extracted from Fruiting Body of Aramillaria mellea (뽕나무버섯(Armillaria mellea)의 자실체에서 추출한 조다당류가 생쥐의 Sarcoma 180에 미치는 억제효과)

  • Armillaria mellea, one of edible and medicinal mushroom belonging to Tricholomataceae of Basid-iomycota, has been known to have outstanding inhibitive effects on the sarcoma 180 and Erhrlich carcinoma of mice. Neutral salt soluble (0.9% NaCl), hot water soluble and methanol soluble substances (hereinafter referred to Fr. NaCl, Fr, HW and Fr. MeOH, respectively) were extracted from the mushroom. In vitro cytotoxicity tests, crude polysaccharide were not cytotoxic against cancer cell lines such as NIH3T3 and Sarcoma 180 at the concentration of $1000{\mu}g/ml$. Intraperitoneal injection with crude polysaccharides exhibited life prolongation effect of $60{\sim}67.5%$ in mice inoculated with Sarcoma 180, respectively. Fr, NaCl improved the immunopotentiation activity of B lymphocyte by increasing the alkaline phosphatase activity by $1.8{\sim}3.0$ folds, respectively. In case of Fr. NaCl, the numbers of peritoneal exudate cells and circulating leukocytes were increased by 10 and 2 folds, respectively.

Intraperitoneal injection with Fr. NaCl showed antitumor effect with life prolongation of 77.4% in mice inoculated with Sarcoma 180. Fr. NnCl and Fr. HW improved proliferation of spleen cells and the immunopotentiation activity of B lymphocyte by increasing spleen cells and the alkaline phosphatase activity by $1.7{\sim}2.4\;and\;2.2{\sim}8.7$ folds, respectively. Fr, NaCl generated $90\;{\mu}M$ of nitric oxide (NO) when cultured with RAW 264.7 at the concentration of $50\;{\mu}g/ml$, while lipopolysaccharide, a positive control, produced $79{\mu}M$. Intraperitoneal injection with Fr. NaCl (50 mg/kg body weight) increased the numbers of peritoneal exudate cells and circulating leukocytes by 10 folds and two folds, respectively, than in the control group. The antitumor effect of D, tricolor was likely due to immunopotentiation activity.

Studies on Immuno-Modulatory and Antitumor Effects of Crude Polysaccharides Extracted from Paecilomyces sinclairii (매미눈꽃동충하초(Paecilomyces sinclairii)로부터 추출한 조다당류의 면역 활성과 항암 효과에 관한 연구)

Fr. NaCl and Fr. MeOH were slightly cytotoxic to the cell lines. Intraperitoneal injection with Fr. NaCl and Fr. MeOH exhibited antitumor activity with life prolongation effect of 32.3% in mice inoculated with Sarcoma 180. Fr. NaCl improved proliferation of spleen cells and the immunopotentiation activity of B lymphocyte by increasing spleen cell numbers and the alkaline phosphatase activity by $2.4{\sim}2.6\;and\;2.7{\sim}3.9$ folds, respectively. Fr. NaCl generated $89\;{\mu}M$ of nitric oxide (NO) when cultured with RAW 264.7, a mouse macrophage cell line, at the concentration of $50\;{\mu}g/ml$, while iipopolysaccharide, a positive control, produced $79\;{\mu}M$. The Fr. NaCl showed the hightest antitumor effect and activation of B lymphocytes and macrophage. From these results, antitumor effect of P. sinclaitii was likely due to immunopotentiation activity.

Characterization and Improved Dissolution Rate of Aceclofenac Solid Dispersion (아세클로페낙 고체분산체의 특성 및 용출률 개선)

  • We prepared nanoparticles containing insoluble aceclofenac by the method of solid dispersions using spray dryer to improve solubility of aceclofenac. We used PVP-K30 as a water soluble carrier for the solid dispersion and poloxamer as a surfactant. Characterization of aceclofenac solid dispersion was performed by SEM, DSC, XRD and FT-IR. The results of SEM, DSC and XRD demonstrated that aceclofenac is amorphous in solid dispersion. The formation of salt by hydrogen bond between aceclofenac and PVP K-30 was confirmed by FT-IR. The dissolution rate measured in intestinal juice showed the method of solid dispersion improved aceclofenac solubility as compared with a conventional drug($Airtal^{(R)}$). In conclusion, the method of solid dispersion using spray dryer would improve solubility of aceclofenac in oral administration.
