토모테라피에서 쌀 볼루스 팬텀의 유용성 평가: 팬텀연구 (Evaluating the Usefulness of Rice Bolus Phantom in Tomotherapy: Phantom Study)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of the rice bolus for upper-lower extremity radiation therapy by Tomotherapy. The computed tomography images were obtained for air, water, and rice bolus. The average and standard deviation of the Hounsfield unit (HU) were measured for image evaluation. The conformity index (CI) and homogeneity index (HI) were calculated for dose distribution of the planning target volume (PTV) which was treated by direct mode with gantry angle (90 and 270 angle). The point dose of a total of ten axial planes was measured to confirm the different regions. The mean of HU was -999.72 ± 0.72 at the air. The water and rice bolus were -0.13 ± 1.65 and -170 ± 27.2, respectively. The CI (HI) of PTV was 0.96 (1.36) at the air. 0.95 (1.04) at the water bolus, and 0.95 (1.04) at the rice bolus. The maximum dose for air was 136 cGy which is about 32% higher than 103 cGy for water and 104 cGy for rice bolus. There was a statistical difference for point dose between air and water including rice bolus (p=0.04), however, no statistical difference between water and rice bolus (p=0.579).The rice bolus phantom for extremities radiation therapy could be not only the optimized dose distribution but also the convenience and equipment safety at Tomotherapy. However, additional research will be necessary to more accurately verify the clinical usefulness of rice bolus phantom due to not enough examination.

Tuberostemonine에 의한 Staphylococcus aureus의 생물막 억제 효과 (Inhibitory effects of tuberostemonine on Staphylococcus aureus biofilm)

  • 본 연구는 S. aureus에 대한 tuberostemonine의 항균 및 항생물막 효과에 대하여 확인하였다. S. aureus에 대한 tuberostemonine의 생장 저해 효과가 없음을 확인하였으나, crystal violet 염색법과 CLSM 이미지 측정을 통해 tuberostemonine이 유의한 S. aureus 항생물막 효과 가지는 것을 알 수 있었다. S. aureus의 생물막 형성과 분해 관련 유전자인 icaA와 agrA의 발현은 tuberostemonine를 처리하였을 때 유의미하게 각각 감소 또는 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구에서 생물막 형성 저해 및 분해 효과가 확인된 천연화합물인 tuberostemonine은 S. aureus의 내성 발생 위험이 적은 새로운 항생물막제제로서 사용가능 할 것으로 사료된다.

A Study on Current Characteristics Based on Design and Performance Test of Current Generator of KRISO's Deep Ocean Engineering Basin

  • To build an environment facility of a large-scale ocean basin, various detailed reviews are required, but it is difficult to find data that introduces the related research or construction processes on the environment facility. The current generator facility for offshore structure safety evaluation tests should be implemented by rotating the water of the basin. However, when the water in the large basin rotates, relatively large flow irregularities may occur and the uniformity may not be adequate. In this paper, design and review were conducted to satisfy the performance goals of the DOEB through computational numerical analysis on the shape of the waterway and the flow straightening devices to form the current in the large tank. Based on this, the head loss, which decreases the flow rate when the large tank water rotates through the water channel, was estimated and used as the pump capacity (impeller) design data. The impeller of the DOEB current generator was designed through computational numerical analysis (CFD) based on the lift surface theory from the axial-type impeller shape for satisfying the head loss of the waterway and maximum current velocity. In order to confirm the performance of the designed impeller system, the flow rate and flow velocity performance were checked through factory test operation. And, after installing DOEB, the current flow rate and velocity performance were reviewed compare with the original design target values. Finally, by measuring the current velocity of the test area in DOEB formed through the current generator, the spatial current distribution characteristics in the test area were analyzed. Through the analysis of the current distribution characteristics of the DOEB test area, it was confirmed that the realization of the maximum current velocity and the average flow velocity distribution, the main performance goals in the waterway design process, were satisfied.

미량 및 신종유해물질의 국내 방류 환경에서의 위해성 평가: 환경부 지정 1순위 80종 대상으로 (Risk Assessment of Micro and Emerging Contaminants in Domestic Effluent Environment: Targeting on 80 First-class substances assigned by Ministry of Environment)

  • In 2018, total 263 micro and emerging contaminants were selected as target substances by the Ministry of Environment, and 80 of them were first-class substance including endocrine disruptors, residual Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products (PPCPs), residual organic pollutants, pesticides and heavy metals. In this study, in order to evaluate the Hazard Quotient (HQ) of the 80 types in the domestic water environment the concentration of discharged effluent and nearby water environment reported by Korean institutes since 2010 was investigated. There were 45 substances reported to be detected, and Measurement Environment Concentration (MEC) were obtained by collectively converting them into water environment concentration. For biotoxicity, half maximal Effective Dose (EC50) to Daphnia magna, a water fleas species widely adopted in Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) was applied. As for the biotoxicity level, the Predicted No-Effect Concentration (PNEC) was obtained by applying the Assessment Factor (AF) and the HQ was derived by dividing it from the MEC. As a result of calculating the HQ, more than 1 substances were Cabamazepine, Mefenamic acid, Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, Nonylphenol, Nickel, Erythromycin, Acetylslic acid, etc. Meanwhile, perfluorinated compounds were identified as hazardous substances in the water env ironment, with 5 out of 14 species included in the 20 ranks of first-class substance.

UAM 추락 시 인구 밀접 지역 지상 인명피해 분석 (Analysis of Human Casualties on the Ground in Urban Area due to UAM Crash)

  • 본 연구에서는 무게 약 1톤, 속도 약 100km/h에 달하는 멀티콥터 형 UAM(Urban Air Mobility)가 도심 지역에서 추락했을 때 발생할 수 있는 인명피해를 정량적으로 분석하였다. UAM 수요가 가장 많을 것으로 예상되는 서울지역의 인구밀도 및 건물 데이터 베이스를 기반으로 UAM 추락 시 충돌에 노출되는 인구를 도출하였고 멀티콥터 형 비행체가 제어 불가능한 상태에서의 무동력 추락을 고려하여 항력을 고려한 자유낙하 모델을 통해 UAM 추락 시 사고영향 반경을 계산하였다. 더불어, 사고영향 반경이 증가할 때 지상의 인명피해의 변화를 분석하였다. 최종적으로 서울지역에 대한 UAM 추락 시 지상 인명피해 맵을 생성하였고 서울의 대부분의 지역에서 UAM 추락 시 약 1~10명 내외의 인명피해가 발생할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이를 통해 TLS (Target Level of Safety)를 만족하는 UAM의 고장률 요구사항을 분석하였다.

Stability evaluation model for loess deposits based on PCA-PNN

  • Due to the low strength and high compressibility characteristics, the loess deposits tunnels are prone to large deformations and collapse. An accurate stability evaluation for loess deposits is of considerable significance in deformation control and safety work during tunnel construction. 37 groups of representative data based on real loess deposits cases were adopted to establish the stability evaluation model for the tunnel project in Yan'an, China. Physical and mechanical indices, including water content, cohesion, internal friction angle, elastic modulus, and poisson ratio are selected as index system on the stability level of loess. The data set is randomly divided into 80% as the training set and 20% as the test set. Firstly, principal component analysis (PCA) is used to convert the five index system to three linearly independent principal components X1, X2 and X3. Then, the principal components were used as input vectors for probabilistic neural network (PNN) to map the nonlinear relationship between the index system and stability level of loess. Furthermore, Leave-One-Out cross validation was applied for the training set to find the suitable smoothing factor. At last, the established model with the target smoothing factor 0.04 was applied for the test set, and a 100% prediction accuracy rate was obtained. This intelligent classification method for loess deposits can be easily conducted, which has wide potential applications in evaluating loess deposits.

전자식 경사계의 안정성 지원 플랫폼을 위한 선종별 GM 성능 특성 연구 (GM performance of the characteristics study by ship type for the stability support platform of the electronic inclinometer)

  • 선박용 전자식 경사계는 횡경사, 횡동요 주기 및 진폭 등 선박의 횡경사 관련 여러 가지 데이터를 측정하고 출력할 수 있는 장비이다. 선박안전성 판단지원이 가능한 전자식 경사계는 복원성능 안정성 지원 플랫폼이 탑재되어 있어 선박안전성(GM) 정보가 부족한 소형선박에도 자료제공이 가능하다. 선박에서의 GM은 항해사들이 복원성을 판단하는 중요한 요소이며, 선종에 따라 각기 다른 GM 범위를 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 선종별 안정적인 GM에 대한 선행연구사례의 방법론을 기반으로 하여 추가 선종에 대한 GM 분석을 통한 선종별 안정적인 GM과 한계경사각의 제안을 목적으로 한다. 또한 국제 규격에 충족하는 선박용 전자식 경사계에 선종별 GM 데이터를 내장하여 선박안전성 강화를 위한 GM확보 및 검토를 위한 자료로 활용되길 기대한다.

위험도 기반 도로 모니터링 및 관리 시스템 구축 방안 (A Methodology on System Implementation for Road Monitoring and Management Based on Automated Driving Hazard Levels)

  • 자율주행시스템은 자율주행 센서, 판단 및 제어 알고리즘 등을 기반으로 스스로 자율주행할 수 있는 기능을 갖추고 있다. 자율주행의 안전성은 도로 네트워크의 운영 상태와 관련성이 높고 도로 인프라와의 협력이 필요하다. 자율주행의 안전한 운행을 위해서는 지속적으로 도로와 교통 조건이 적합한지를 모니터링 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 자율주행시스템의 ODD (Operational Design Domain) 특성에 따라 선정된 모니터링 항목을 관리할 수 있는 체계를 구축하기 위한 노드와 링크 체계를 제시하였다. 확장성을 고려하여 기존의 ITS 표준 노드링크 체계를 기반으로 하였으며, 모니터링 대상을 노드와 링크로 표출하는 방안을 제시하였다. 위험도를 5단계로 구분하고 관리하는 방안과 최적경로 탐색 및 통제 시 노드와 링크의 정보를 활용하는 방안을 제시하였다. 세종시를 대상으로 제시된 노드와 링크체계를 기반으로 한 시스템구축 사례를 소개하였다.

주의력결핍 과잉행동장애 치료제 개발을 위한 카테콜아민계 표적화 (Targeting Catecholamines to Develop New Drugs for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)

  • The prevalence of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a developmental neuropsychiatric disorder, is high among children and adolescents. The pathogenesis of ADHD is mediated with genetic, biological, and environmental factors. Most therapeutic drugs for ADHD have so far targeted biological causes, primarily by regulating catecholaminergic neurotransmitters. However, ADHD drugs that are clinically treated have various problems in their addictiveness and drug stability; thus, it is recommended that efficacy and safety should be secured through simultaneous prescription of multiple drugs rather than a single drug treatment. Accordingly, it is necessary to develop drugs that newly target pathogenic mechanisms of ADHD. In this study, we attempt to confirm the possibility of developing new drugs by reviewing dopamine-related developmental mechanisms of neurons and their correlation with ADHD. Histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACi) can regulate the concentration of intracellular dopamine in neurons by expressing vesicular monoamine transporter 2 and inducing the exocytosis of neurotransmitters to the synaptic cleft, thereby promoting the development of neurons and signal transmission. This cellular modulation of HDACi is expected to treat ADHD by regulating endogenous catecholamines such as dopamine. Although studies are still in the preclinical stage, HDAC inhibitors clearly have potential as a therapeutic agent with low addictiveness and high efficacy for ADHD treatment.

지능형 철도 선형개량 계획 및 분석 기술 개발 (Development of Intelligent Planning and Analysis Method for Railroad Alignment Improvement)

  • 국내외 철도사업에서 철도의 신규 건설과 더불어 기존선의 개량을 통한 증속, 고속화 사업도 큰 비중을 차지고 있다. 특히 해외의 개발도상국은 경제수준을 고려할 때 고속철도의 건설은 막대한 규모의 예산소요와 수요를 고려할 때 한계가 있어, 기존 철도의 선형개량을 통한 증속사업이 실현가능성이 높은 것으로 판단하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 선형개량을 통향 기존선의 증속사업의 효율적 기획과 분석을 위하여, 기존에 신규 철도 건설사업 분석에 활용되고 있는 지능형 철도선형계획 프로그램(ei-Rail)에 선형개량사업 분석 기능을 추가할 수 있는 방법론을 개발하였다. 수치지도 또는 기존의 위성사진 자료를 기반의 베이스 맵에 기존의 철도선형을 입력하고, 목표속도등 선형개량사업의 목표를 입력하면, 사업의 비용과 도면, 증속효과 분석 결과 등을 자동적으로 제시함으로써, 철도선형개량 사업의 기획과 분석을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있는 도구로 활용될 수 있도록 하였다.
