Advantages and disadvantages of renewable energy-oil-environmental pollution-from the point of view of nanoscience

  • This investigation delves into the adverse repercussions stemming from the impact of arsenic on steel pipes concealed within soil designated for rice cultivation. Simultaneously, the study aims to ascertain effective techniques for detecting arsenic in the soil and to provide strategies for mitigating the corrosion of steel pipes. The realm of nanotechnology presents promising avenues for addressing the intricate intersection of renewable energy, oil, and environmental pollution from a novel perspective. Nanostructured materials, characterized by distinct chemical and physical attributes, unveil novel pathways for pioneering materials that exert a substantial impact across diverse realms of food production, storage, packaging, and quality control. Within the scope of the food industry, the scope of nanotechnology encompasses processes, storage methodologies, packaging paradigms, and safeguards to ensure the safety of consumables. Of particular note, silver nanoparticles, in addition to their commendable antibacterial efficacy, boast anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory prowess, environmental compatibility, minimal irritability and allergenicity, resilience to microbial antagonism, thermal stability, and robustness. Confronting the pressing issue of arsenic contamination within both environmental settings and the food supply is of paramount importance to preserve public health and ecological equilibrium. In response, this study introduces detection kits predicated upon silver nanoparticles, providing an expeditious and economically feasible avenue for identifying arsenic concentrations ranging from 0.5 to 3 ppm within rice. Subsequent quantification employs Hydride Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (HG-AAS), which features a detection threshold of 0.05 ㎍/l. A salient advantage inherent in the HG-AAS methodology lies in its capacity to segregate analytes from the sample matrix, thereby significantly reducing instances of spectral interference. Importantly, the presence of arsenic in the soil beneath rice cultivation establishes a causative link to steel pipe corrosion, with potential consequences extending to food contamination-an intricate facet embedded within the broader tapestry of renewable energy, oil, and environmental pollution.

삼각섬유연골 복합체 손상의 한의학 치료에 대한 국내외 임상 연구 동향 (Trends in Domestic and International Clinical Research on Korean Medicine Treatments for Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex Injury)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends in domestic and international clinical research on the Korean medicine for triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) injuries and to contribute to future domestic research. Methods In this study, clinical studies on TFCC injuries treated with Korean medicine were searched through databases such as Research Information Sharing Service, ScienceON, DBpia, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, PubMed, Medline, and Embase. Fifteen clinical studies were selected, of which publication years, intervention methods, assessment tools, and various other factors were analyzed, including potential side effects. Results Among the selected 15 studies, total of 13 intervention methods were used. Electroacupuncture was the most frequently used method (40%), followed by herbal medicine (33%), acupuncture (26.7%), chuna manual therapy (26.7%), pharmacopuncture (20%), acupotomy (13%), herbal ointment (13%), hot medicinal compress therapy (13%) and etc. Most studies showed that Korean medicine treatments effectively alleviated TFCC injuries, with visual analogue scale being the most commonly used assessment tool. Conclusions Korean medicine treatments for TFCC injuries appears to be effective; however, further research is needed to enhance understanding. Large-scale clinical trials comparing the efficacy of Korean medicine treatments, along with investigations into side effects and recurrence rates are necessary. By doing so, the safety and efficacy of Korean medicine treatments for TFCC injuries can be further established.

COVID-19 vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia: a review

  • Rare but serious thrombotic incidents in relation to thrombocytopenia, termed vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT), have been observed since the vaccine rollout, particularly among replication-defective adenoviral vector-based severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 vaccine recipients. Herein, we comprehensively reviewed and summarized reported studies of VITT following the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination to determine its prevalence, clinical characteristics, as well as its management. A literature search up to October 1, 2021 using PubMed and SCOPUS identified a combined total of 720 articles. Following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guideline, after screening the titles and abstracts based on the eligibility criteria, the remaining 47 full-text articles were assessed for eligibility and 29 studies were included. Findings revealed that VITT cases are strongly related to viral vector-based vaccines, which are the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine (95%) and the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine (4%), with much rarer reports involving messenger RNA-based vaccines such as the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine (0.2%) and the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine (0.2%). The most severe manifestation of VITT is cerebral venous sinus thrombosis with 317 cases (70.4%) and the earliest primary symptom in the majority of cases is headache. Intravenous immunoglobulin and non-heparin anticoagulant are the main therapeutic options for managing immune responses and thrombosis, respectively. As there is emerging knowledge on and refinement of the published guidelines regarding VITT, this review may assist the medical communities in early VITT recognition, understanding the clinical presentations, diagnostic criteria as well as its management, offering a window of opportunity to VITT patients. Further larger sample size trials could further elucidate the link and safety profile.

비행교육을 위한 지정전문교육기관 비교분석 및 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A study on the Comparative Analysis and Improvement Direction of Approved Training Organization for Pilot)

  • 현재 항공 산업 분야에 우수한 조종사를 공급하기 위해 전 세계적으로 전문교육기관 제도 (ATO; approved training organization)를 활용하고 있다. 세계적으로 활용되는 이 제도는 각 국가에 맞는 실정으로 변형되어 활용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라 조종사 양성 전문교육기관의 운영방식 및 교육 환경을 자세히 살펴보고, 국제민간항공기구의 국제표준, 미국, 유럽, 캐나다 등과 일본, 중국, 싱가포르 등 주변국의 비행 교육기관 운영방식 및 비행교육 환경을 비교하여 차이점을 도출함으로써 우리나라 전문교육기관 제도와 어떠한 차이를 보이는지를 비교하였다. 이러한 비교자료를 기반으로 해당 업무 종사자들의 설문 조사를 통해 국내 항공안전법 전문교육기관 지정기준에서 설정하고 있는 학과 수업 양에 대한 만족도가 설문대상의 특성에 따라 큰 차이가 있었고 학과 수업과목에 따라 중요도의 차이가 발생하였다.

  • Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) was introduced in 1977 with the administration of chemotherapeutic agent to gelatin sponge particles through the hepatic artery in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and was established as conventional TACE using Lipiodol in the 1980s. In the 2000s, drug-eluting beads were developed and applied clinically. Currently, TACE is a commonly used non-surgical treatment modality for patients with HCC who are unsuitable for curative treatment. Considering the vital role of TACE in the management of HCC, it is crucial to organize current knowledge and expert opinions regarding patient preparation, procedural techniques, and post-treatment care in TACE, which can enhance therapeutic efficacy and safety. A group of 12 experts in the fields of interventional radiology and hepatology, convened by the Research Committee of the Korean Liver Cancer Association (KLCA), has developed expert consensus-based practical recommendations in TACE. These recommendations have been endorsed by the Korean Society of Interventional Radiology and provide useful information and direction in performing TACE procedure as well as pre- and post- procedural patient care.

Participation in and perceptions of antibiotic stewardship behaviors among nurses at a children's hospital in South Korea: a descriptive study

  • Purpose: This study investigated participation in and perceptions of antibiotic stewardship among nurses at a children's hospital. Methods: This descriptive study included 125 nurses working in the inpatient ward, intensive care unit and emergency room of a single tertiary children's hospital. The study measured 14 factors influencing antibiotic stewardship behaviors using the theoretical domains framework. Each factor was analyzed by categorizing it into components (capability, opportunity, and motivation) that have been proposed as influencing factors in the COM-B model of behavior. One-way analysis of variance and Pearson correlation coefficients were used to explore differences in antibiotic stewardship behaviors and influencing factors according to general characteristics and the correlation between antibiotic stewardship behaviors and COM-B components. Results: No statistically significant difference in antibiotic stewardship behaviors was found based on the experience of antibiotic stewardship education or the nursing department. However, significant differences were observed in the perception levels of factors related to antibiotic stewardship behaviors according to the experience of antibiotic stewardship education in skill (physical) (p=.042), knowledge (p=.027), intentions (p=.028), and social influences (p=.010). Additionally, significant differences were observed in perception levels according to the sub-components of the COM-B model, specifically physical capability (p=.042), psychological capability (p=.027), and social opportunity (p=.010). Conclusion: To expand nurses' involvement and roles in antibiotic stewardship, nurses should acknowledge the significance of appropriate antibiotic use, aiming to enhance the quality of medical care and ensure patient safety. In pursuit of this objective, tailored education aligning with the specific needs and practices of nurses is essential.

청상보하탕에 대한 국내 임상연구 동향 분석 (A Literature Review of Domestic Clinical Studies on Chungsangboha-tang (Qingshangbuxia-tang))

  • Objective : To understand how Chungsangboha-tang (CSBHT) is being utilized in clinical practice and research in Korea, clinical studies related to CSBHT published in domestic academic journals were analyzed. Methods : The search was conducted using the following six databases: Korean Traditional Knowledge Portal, Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System, ScienceON, Research Information Sharing Service, Koreanstudies Information Service System, and The Journal of Internal Korean Medicine. After selecting relevant literature published before June 24, 2024, the studies were classified and analyzed according to their research design. Results : The final selection comprised 20 studies categorized as follows: 1 non-randomized controlled trial and 10 before-and-after studies in prospective clinical research, along with 7 case reports and 2 retrospective chart reviews in retrospective clinical studies. Among the 233 participants included in these studies, 169 had asthma, 53 had chronic cough, and 5 had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Additionally, other conditions reported included Churg-Strauss syndrome, pulmonary Langerhans cell histiocytosis, non-tuberculous mycobacterial pulmonary disease, bronchiectasis, and pulmonary hypertension. CSBHT was administered as a decoction in 13 studies, as granules in 6 studies, and both in one study. The most frequently used assessment tools were pulmonary function tests and quality of life evaluations. For safety assessment, liver function test results and adverse events were reported. Conclusion : To enhance the utilization of CSBHT in Korean medicine clinical practice, continuous accumulation of domestic clinical research is essential. Moreover, meticulously designed randomized controlled trials are necessary to elevate the level of evidence.

뇌전증의 병인, 변증, 한약 치료에 대한 고찰 -한국, 일본, 중국 데이터베이스를 중심으로- (A Review of Etiology, Syndrome Differentiation, and Herbal Medicine of Epilepsy)

  • Objectives This study aimed to establish a foundation for research on Korean medicine for epilepsy by analyzing its etiology, syndrome differentiation, and the use of herbal medicines. Methods Articles were extracted from five databases in Korea, Japan, and China: the Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS), Citation Information by the National Institute of Informatics (CiNii), Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wangfang Database, and Chinese Scientific Journal Database (VIP). The etiology, syndrome differentiation, and herbal medicines used for epilepsy were investigated. Results A total of 64 articles were selected, including seven clinical studies, 16 case reports, and 41 reviews. Epilepsy is a complex disease with various etiologies, and among the five viscera, syndrome differentiation mainly involved the liver, spleen, and kidney, with pathological factors that included phlegm, wind, and blood stasis. Frequently used herbal medicines included Modified Jeongganhwan, Sihogyejitang, Yukgunjatang, and Sihogayonggolmoryotang. Conclusions This study analyzed epilepsy's etiology, syndrome differentiation, and herbal treatments. Further evidence is needed to better understand the efficacy and safety of Korean herbal medicine for treating epilepsy.

고분자 전해질 연료전지용 바이폴라 플레이트의 유로 연구 (Study on the channel of bipolar plate for PEM fuel cell)

  • 본 논문은 상용 프로그램인 Fluent를 이용하여 고분자 전해질 연료전지(polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell)의 바이폴라 플레이트 위에 새겨진 유로형상을 분석함으로서 연료전지의 성능을 향상시키는데 그 목적이 있다. 수소 소모량이 가장 많은 유로크기를 구하기 위하여 0.5 ${\~}$ 3.0mm의 범위에 대해 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며, 유로너비, 지면너비, 유로깊이가 적을수록 아노드에서 수소이용율이 높음을 알 수 있었다. 유로너비가 증가하면 유로의 전체길이를 감소하므로 유로에서 압력하락이 감소하게 되며, 지면너비를 증가시키면 수소가 지면 밑으로 확산하여 수소의 순 소비가 감소하기 때문이다. 또한 유로너비를 변화시키는 것은 지면너비를 변화시키는 것보다 수소 소모에 민감하게 영향을 끼침을 알 수 있었다. 유로깊이에 따른 수소 소모량의 변화는 유로너비에 비해 크지 않으나 유로깊이는 바이폴라 플레이트의 부피에 크게 영향을 미치므로 가능한 한 적게 하여야 한다. 그러나 현실적으로 기계가공이 가능한 1mm이상의 유로에서는 유로너비 1.0mm, 지면너비 1.0mm, 유로깊이 0.5mm에서 수소 이용율이 가장 높았으며 최적 유로크기로 판단된다. 시뮬레이션결과로부터 최적 유로크기로 성형한 2cm${\times}$2cm크기의 대각선형과 5자형 유동장에 MEA를 결합한 단위전지의 성능을 100W 연료전지평가시스템을 이용하여 측정하였다. 측정결과는 대각선형과 5자형에서 유사하게 높은 OCV가 나타났으며, 전류밀도는 0.6V이하에서는 대각선형이 $2-40mA/m^2$ 더 높았으나 0.7-0.8V에서는 S자형이 $5-10mA/m^2$ 더 높게 나타났다.질을 향상시키고 의료자원의 효율적인 이용을 촉진하기 위해 호스피스 완화의료 서비스의 표준화와 제도화가 필요하다.를 활용한 사용자인터페이스(UI)디자인의 가능성을 확대시킬 수 있을 것이다. 스크린의 사용에 있어서 사용자의 시각적 한계성을 극복하기 위한 새로운 GUI의 시도와 제안은 향후 모바일 기기 디자인의 새로운 방향성을 제시하고 있다.각되며 이를 위해서는 호스피스 관련 기관뿐만 아니라 국가적 차원의 아동 호스피스에 대한 관심과 지원이 요구된다고 생각한다. 양상과 일치하였고 표준조건(water flux 1 cm/일)에서 예측된 이동소요시간에 따라 metolcarb는 most mobile, molinate와 fenobucarb, isazofos는 mobile내지 most mobile, dimepiperate는 moderately mobile이나 mobile, diazinon은 mobile, fenitrothion과 parathion은 slightly mobile 또는 mobile, chloipyrifos-methyl은 immobile이나 slightly mobile 등급에 속하는 것으로 나타났다.히 요구되고 있는 현실이다.브로 출시에 따른 마케팅 및 고객관리와 관련된 시사점을 논의한다.는 교합면에서 2, 3, 4군이 1군에 비해 변연적합도가 높았으며 (p < 0.05), 인접면과 치은면에서는 군간 유의차를 보이지 않았다 이번 연구를 통하여 복합레진을 간헐적 광중합시킴으로써 변연적합도가 향상될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.시장에 비해 주가가 비교적 안정적인 수준을 유지해 왔다고 볼 수 있다.36.4%)와 외식을 선호(29.1%)${\lrcorner}$ 하기 때문에 패스트푸드를 이용하게 된 것으로 응답 하였으며, 남 여 대학생간에는 유의한

항공법규에 의거 지정된 조종사 양성 전문교육기관의 학생조종사에 대한 휴먼팩터 영향 연구 (A Study on the Impact of Human Factors for the Students Pilot's in ATO -With Respect to Korea Aviation Act and ICAO Human Factors Training Manual-)

  • 본 연구는 국내 훈련비행을 수행하는 학생조종사를 대상으로 SHELL 모델에 근거한 인적요인(Human Factors)에 초점을 맞추어 연구가 진행되었다. 연구 가설을 검증하기 위해SHELL 모델은 바탕으로 평가요소를 만들었고, 각 인적요인별 요인분석에서 추출된 변수를 사용하여 사고위험과의 상관관계, 비행경험수준과는 분산분석, 그리고 조직 특성과는 t-test를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 사고위험과 조종사의 개인적 요소(Liveware), 사고위험과 조종사-장비 관계(Liveware-Hardware)는 관련성이 있고, 개인적 요소(Liveware)의 변수인 조종사의 내적요인과 조종사의 기량 모두 비행경험수준이 낮을수록 인적요인에 의한 영향을 많이 받는 것으로 분석되었다. 마지막으로 학생 조종사 조직의 특성에 따라 인적요소(Human Factors)들의 차이를 비교분석한 결과, 재학생으로 구성된 학생조종사의 그룹이 내적으로 영향을 많이 받고 있고, 조종석내 장비 부분에서는 일반인 학생 조종사가 받는 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 항공분야의 인적요인(Human Factors)에 관한 연구는 활발히 진행 중이나 학생조종사를 대상으로 한 인적요인에 관한 연구는 이루어지지 않았다. 기존의 선행연구와 같이 본 연구에서도 사고 위험과 인적요인과의 관계는 밀접한 관련이 있으며, 특히 개인적 요소(Liveware)와 조종사-장비(Liveware-Hardware) 관계가 안전성에 많은 관련이 있음을 보였다. 또한 인적요인 중 조직문화라는 요인도 인간에게 많은 영향을 주고 있고, 실제 사고위험에 직접적인 영향은 없으나, 잠재적인 위험성이 큰 요인이라 판단된다. 전 세계적으로 항공사고의 안전성을 향상시키기 위해 인적요인(Human Factors)을 주요 문제로 삼고 있고, 국내 항공사에서도 인적요인 훈련으로서 승무원 상호협조(CRM)와 노선적응훈련(LOFT) 훈련을 정기적으로 하고 있는 등 인적요인의 중요성을 인지하고 이로 인한 사고를 방지하기 위해 지속적으로 노력하고 있다. 그러나 훈련비행을 실시하고 있는 비행훈련기관에서는 인적요인에 관한 훈련은 부족하며, 학생들이 인적요인(Human Factors)에 관한 이론으로 인식할 뿐이지 실제 훈련 비행상에서 사고로 이어질 수 있다는 잠재적 위험성을 인지하지 못하고 있다. 우리나라 항공 산업을 이끌고 갈 조종사를 양성하는 교육기관으로써, 이러한 문제를 인식하고 인적요인 교육 훈련을 개선해 나가야 할 것이며 이러한 점은국내 항공법이나 항공법규에 의거 지정된 전문교육기관의 교과과정개선에 반영되어야 할 것이다.
