The objective of this study is to improve safe execution of the management plan in Construction Technology Promotion Act. This research addresses the issue how to prevent the collapse of facilities under construction and after completion, improve the examination system, and execute Improvement of Safety Management Plan. To achieve this goal, research providing insights into understanding the ways in which creating and presenting safety checks and deploying safety training measures effectively is imperative.

After Kyeongju earthquake occurred in September 12, 2016, the seismic safety of nuclear power plants became important issue in our country. The seismic safety of nuclear power plant against beyond design basis earthquake became very important to secure the public safety. In this paper, the current status of the seismic safety assessment methodology is reviewed and some aspects for the reliability improvement of the seismic safety assessment results are proposed. Seismic margin analysis and probabilistic seismic safety assessment have been used for the seismic safety evaluation of a nuclear power pant. The basic procedure and the related issues and proposals for the probabilistic seismic safety assessment are investigated.

It is an hot issue to reduce vibration for improving quality, reliability and safety in railway vehicles including magnetic levitation, monorail way, surface car etc. This paper aims at literature survey in rolling stocks vibration standards. Firstly, we investigate literature concerned vibration test standards and compare these standards. Secondly, we give some suggestions for future study and developing new test standards.

Vehicle rollover is an important issue for the traffic safety. Rollover can occur from the driver's action, the vehicle characteristics, or the road condition. This study is about the rollover propensity analysis of a jeep vehicle using the steering and braking maneuver, which is the combined result by the driver and the vehicle. Simple equations of roll motion is used to analyze the roll motion and a special purpose vehicle dynamics program is used to simulate the rollover of the jeep vehicle. From the simulation, an incipient rollover motion of the vehicle was found. However, the more complete rollover propensity analysis would require further investigation using roll dynamic sensitivity study.

The objective of this GM Red-X project was to reduce customer complaints on Kalos, Lacetti, Magnus as reported through 2004.1 - 2005.1 warranty performance. Seatbelt alarm lamp mal-function problem is connected with safety. So it is critical issue. Seatbelt alarm lamp mal-function which caused by buckle occurred 22 cases from 2004.1 to 2005.1.

Our nation has experienced remarkable growth over the half a century. Nonetheless, there is still much room for improvement in the area of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS). In particular, frequency and severity of industrial accidents did not considerably improve compared to the economic and social progress we made. The main objective of this research is to analyze what plans and actions are required for companies to promote industrial safety by 1) fostering functional competencies of EHS staffs and 2) effectively and proactively responding to rapidly changing EHS environment. For this research, EHS staffs from five large companies in Korea were surveyed. Most respondents indicated that one of key expertise required by EHS staffs is capabilities to effectively deal with changes to various domestic and international EHS-related laws and regulations. Furthermore, a predominant number of respondents commented that it is imperative for EHS staffs to have a broad knowledge of business management. As for internal issues that EHS staffs encounter within their organizations, many pointed out that their EHS vision is not sufficiently shared throughout the organization, and that the rules of leadership are critical in solving this issue. On the other hand, the survey respondents also raised an issue of limited EHS-related investments due to slow economy. As a solution, they proposed ways to align EHS organization's performance with the company's performance. Based on this survey, issues and solutions for EHS organizations were identified. Results of this research can benefit companies that plan to newly establish or further expand EHS organization.

In respect of the existing relation between Sea-going Vessels and Vessels at anchor, Korean Maritime Safety Tribunal has applied 'Ordinary Practice of Seamen' that is regulated by the article No. 2 of COLREG. That is, general navigation rule is not applied between the two vessels, and the action to avoid collision of vessels by utilizing experience knowledge of the seamen. However, the content of the Ordinary Practice of Seamen included in the revised plan in the process of 2011 "Maritime affairs Safety Act" revision was deleted in the screening of the Office of Legislation due to the reason that it could not specified when the content of deed is not concertized. Furthermore, prior application regulation of international treaty included in the existing "Sea Traffic Safety Act"(Article 5) was deleted in the screening of the National Assembly. So, doubt about whether the Ordinary Practice of Seamen could be continuously applied according to the regulation of the international treaty, nevertheless not specified in domestic law, has been continuously raised. In this situation, recently Central Maritime Safety Tribunal changed precedent by applying of Article 96(3) of Maritime Safety Act without applying Ordinary Practice of Seamen in the Case No. 2015-001. Accordingly, this study intended to review propriety of precedent change and legal issue with the decision of Central Maritime Safety Tribunal excluding Ordinary Practice of Seamen for a collision between Sea-going Vessels and Vessels at anchor.

Nowadays, the issue of maritime safety is an extremely important issue in the maritime industry and human' stress is one of the biggest causes of maritime accidents. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of the human' stress and find out the relationship between it and the risk of maritime accidents occur through the assistance of BIOPAC MP-150 and BIONOMADIX system.

In this paper, the rationale and contents of the special issue of the Journal of the Acoustical Society of Korea regarding comprehensive reviews on past, present and future of biomedical ultrasound are described. Brief descriptions of invited articles are given, and efforts by all contributing authors are gratefully acknowledged.
