  • This paper proposes an enhanced Simulated Annealing(SA) algorithm for Rural Postman Problems(RPPs). In SA, the cooling schedule is an important factor for SA algorithms. Hence, in this paper a cooling schedule is proposed for SA for RPPs. In the simulation. the results of the SA using the proposed cooling schedule and the results of the SA using the existing cooling schedules are compared and analyzed. In the simulation results, the proposed method obtained the better results than the existing methods.

  • Endogenous salicylic acid (SA) and its predominant conjugates, SA 2-O-${\beta}$-D-glucoside (SAG) and the glucose ester of SA (SGE), increase dramatically during plant defense responses. Here I report the isolation and characterization of an Arabidopsis thaliana UDP-glucose:SA glucosyltransferase1 (AtSGT1) gene using a tobacco SGT gene previously reported, whose product catalyzes the formation of both SAG and SGE. The recombinant AtSGT1 protein had significant activities with SA and benzoic acid, and synthesized SAG and SGE. Northern blot analysis showed that AtSGT1 was rapidly induced both by exogenous SA and infection with the bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas syringae, indicating that pathogen-inducible AtSGT1 expression is an early disease response and may be involved in the accumulation of glucosyl SA during pathogenesis.

  • To decrease stress in eel (Anguilla japonica) during its culture or transportation, aspirin (ASA) known as analgesic, antiinflammatory and antithrombic agent was administrated by dipping or oral routes. Concentrations of aspirin (ASA) and salicylic acid (SA) in eel plasma were simultaneously measured by a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The plasma was acidified with 0.2 M HCl and 0.2 M orthophosphoric acid, and mixed with acetonitrile. ASA and SA extracted with acetonitrile were analyzed by the HPLC equipped with reversed phase Novapak C18 column (4 ㎛ silica, 150×4 mm) and UV detector(237 nm). The mobile phase consisted of 740 ㎖ water, 900 ㎕ orthophosphoric acid (85%) and 180 ㎖ acetonitrile. The retention times of ASA, SA and 2-methylbenzoic acid(MBA) were 4.8 min, 8.4 min and 11.5 min, respectively. The limit of quantification was 0.01 ㎍/㎖ for SA and 0.05 ㎍/㎖ for ASA. The mean recovery from eel plasma was 70.8~99.6% for ASA and 95.2~100.3% for SA. This HPLC method was applied to analyze ASA and SA of eel plasma after either dipping in a concentration of 20 ppm or feeding the feed supplemented with 50 ㎎/kg BW. Only SA was detected in eel plasma after the administration of ASA by dipping or oral routes because the drug was quickly decomposed into SA in eel plasma. The amount of SA in eel plasma reached the highest value at 3hr in dipping and 7 days in oral administration. When the ASA-administrated eel were kept in ASA free aquaria, 0.02-0.03 ㎍/㎖ of SA were detected 48 hr after the administration in both routes.

  • When processing depthwise separable convolution, low utilization of processing elements (PEs) is one of the challenges of systolic array (SA). In this study, we propose a new SA architecture to maximize throughput in depthwise convolution. Moreover, the proposed SA performs subsequent pointwise convolution on the idle PEs during depthwise convolution computation to increase the utilization. After the computation, we utilize unused PEs to boost the remaining pointwise convolution. Consequently, the proposed 128x128 SA achieves a 4.05x and 1.75x speed improvement and reduces the energy consumption by 66.7 % and 25.4 %, respectively, compared to the basic SA and RiSA in MobileNetV3.

  • It consists of the Precambrian Jirisan metamorphic complex and Sancheong anorthosite complex and the Mesozoic granitoids which intrude them in the Sancheong area, the Jirisan province of Yeongnam massif, Korea. The study area is located in the western part of the stock-type Sancheong anorthosite complex. We performed a detailed fieldwork on the Sancheong anorthosite (SA) and Fe-Ti ore body (FTO) which constitute the Sancheong anorthosite complex, and reinterpreted the origin of FTO foliation and the genetic relationship between them from the foliations, shear zones, occurrences of the SA and FTO. The new structural characteristics between them are as follows: the multilayer structures of FTO, the derived veins of straight, anastomosing uneven types and block structures related to the size reduction of SA, the gradual or irregular boundaries of SA blocks and FTO showing bulbous lobate margins and comb structures, the FTO foliation and linear arrangements of flow occurrence which is not ductile shear deformation, the discontinuous shear zone of SA, the orientation of FTO foliations parallel to the boundaries of SA blocks, the predominance of FTO foliations toward the boundaries of SA blocks and being proportional to the aspect ratio of plagioclase xenocrysts and SA xenoblocks, and the flow folding structures of FTO foliation. Such field evidences indicate that the SA is not fully congealed when the FTO is melt and the fracturing of partly congealed SA causes the derived veins of FTO and the size reduction of SA. Also the gradual or irregular boundaries of SA blocks and FTO result from the mutual reaction between the not fully congealed SA blocks and the FTO melt, and the FTO foliation is a magmatic foliation which was formed by the interaction between the FTO melt and the partly congealed SA blocks. Therefore, these suggest that the SA and FTO are not formed from the intrusion of different magmas in genesis and age but from a coeval and cogenetic magma through multiple fractionation. We predict that the FTO will show an very irregular occurrence injected along irregular fractures, not the regular occurrence like as the intrusive vein and dike. It can be applied to the designing of Fe-Ti mineral resource exploration in this area.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of Sa-am acupuncture with Pericardium jung-gyuck (SA-acu-PC) and Triple Energizer jung-gyuck (SA-acu-TE) on the radial pulse in healthy human subjects. Methods: Sixty healthy subjects participated in this study and divided into three groups randomly: Control group(C), Pericardium jung-gyuck group(PC), Triple Energizer jung-gyuck group(TE). Radial pulse was measured by 3 dimensional pulse imaging system (DMP-3000) before, right after, 30 minutes after, and 60 minutes after acupuncture. Results: 1. The changes observed in periodic parameters are considered as the common effects of both SA-acu-TE and SA-acu-PC. SA-acu-TE was more effective than SA-acu-PC in these effects. 2. The effects of SA-acu-PC appeared in the pulse amplitude, pulse area, and pulse power volume mainly at the left chon position, and 3. The effects of SA-acu-TE appeared in the radial augmentation index and main peak angle mainly at the right gwan position. Conclusions: The effects of SA-acu-PC and SA-acu-TE can be observed in the radial pulse. The increases in pulse amplitude, pulse area, and pulse power volume at the left chon may imply the effects of SA-acu-PC. And the decrease in the pulse power volume, the increases in radial augmentation index and main peak angle may imply the effects of SA-acu-TE.

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of yeast(Saccharomyces exiguus SJPAF1, referred to as SA) addition on odor emission and contaminants reduction in piggery sluny. Four different rates of yeast addition were compared: no addition(SA0), 0.7L(SA0.7), 1.0L(SA1.0), and 1.5L(SA1.5) to one tone of piggery slurry. Odor emission tended to decrease with increasing the yeast application with concurrent effects of changes in temperature on outside of reactors. Particularly, reduction in ammonia emission was proportional to the yeast application rate; it reduced from 161.1 ppm in SA0 to 47.1 ppm in SA1.5 after 6 days of treatment Decomposition of piggery shiny by yeast increased to 13.8% more in SA1.5, and total amounts of piggery slurry decreased to 12.5% in SA1.5. Total coliforms were detected below 30MPN $ml^{-1}$ in SA1.5, while $8.3{\times}10^3$ MPN $ml^{-1}$ of Total coliforms were found in SA0. However, the effect of yeast addition in piggery slurry seemed to have no influence on the removal efficiency of contaminants such as BOD, COD, $NO_3^{-}-N$, $NH_4^{+}-N$, $PO_4^{-}P$. Consequently, the yeast(Saccharomyces exiguus SJPAF1) addition of 1.5% in the piggery sluny seems to have potential applicability for improving agent of pig-farm environment.

  • Strain SA72 was isolated from Jeot-gal and identified as producer of a bacteriocin, which showed some bactericidal activity against Lactobacillus delbrueckii ATCC 4797. Strain SA72 was tentatively identified as Lactococcus lactis according to the AOI test. Lactococcus lactis SA72 showed a broad spectrum of microorganisms, tested by the modified deferred method. The activity of lacticion SA72, named tentatively as a bacteriocin produced by Lactococcus lactis SA72, was detected during the mid-lon growth phase, reached a maximum during the early stationary phase, and then declined after the late stationary phase. Lacticin SA72 also showed a relatively broad spectrum of activity against non-pathogenic and pathogenic microorganisms when assessed by the spot-on-lawn method. Its anitimicrobial activity on sensitive indicator cells disappeared completely by protease XIV treatment. The inhibitory activity of lacticin SA72 remained after treatment for 15 min at $121^{\circ}C$, 문 was stable in a pH range of 2.0 to 9.0 and all organic solvents examined. It demonstrated a typical bactericidal mode of inhibition against Lactobacillus delbrueckii ATCC 4797. The apparent molecular mass of lacticin SA72 was in the region of 3-3.5 kDa, determined by SDS-PAGE.

  • The effects of salicylic acid(SA) and water deficit on growth and proline accumulation were investigated in cucumber(Cucurmis sativus L.) seedlings. Exogenous application of SA(100 $\mu$M-1 mM) led to a noticeable decrease in root and shoot growth, and dry weight of seedlings. Anatomical observation on leaf of cucumber revealed that the thickness of all leaf tissue components decreased in SA-treated plants. The effect was most pronounced on the width of the adaxial epidermis. In the separate effects of SA(0, 100, 500 and 1000 $\mu$M) and water deficit induced by PEG(0, 4.4, 7.0 and 9.6 %) on growth, the water deficit treatments had greater effects on growth traits than SA. Combinations of SA and PEG(SA+PEG) decreased shoot and root dry matter, and root length. Proline increased slightly in SA-treated seedlings, but exhibited a marked increase in water deficit application. Combinations of SA+PEG induced higher proline in both shoots and roots than SA stress alone. Shoots had higher proline than roots. Our data support a role of SA potentiating the osmotic stress response of germinating cucumber seedling.

  • This study was undertaken to define the effect of ChungSangSaWhaTang on the norepinephrine-induced arterial contraction and the mechanism of ChungSangSaWhaTang-induced relaxation. In order to investigate the effect of ChungSangSaWhaTang on contracted rabbit carotid arterial strips, transverse strips with intact or damaged endothelium were used for the experiment using organ bath. To analyze the mechanism of ChungSangSaWhaTang-induced relaxation, ChungSangSaWhaTang extract infused into contracted arterial strips induced by norepinephrine after treatment of indomethacin, $N_{\omega}$-nitro-L-arginine, or tetraethylammonium chloride. ChungSangSaWhaTang relax arterial strip with endothelium contracted by norepinephrine, but in the strips without endothelium, ChungSangSaWhaTang-induced relaxation was significantly inhibited. The endothelium-dependent relaxation induced by ChungSangSaWhaTang was decreased by the pretreatment of $N_{\omega}$-nitro-L-arginine, but it was not observed in the strips pretreated with indomethacin or tetraethylammonium chloride. We suggest that ChungSangSaWhaTang may inhibit agonist-induced contraction through the formation of nitric oxide in the vascular endothelial cells.
