대용량 마이크로웨이브 다중 슬롯 도파관의 연구 (Study on the Multislotted Waveguide for the High Power Microwave)

  • The radiating multislotted antennas widely used in the antennas technique are rather prospective for the application in industrial installations for microwave heating. In this paper, the model of such an antenna is experimentally investigated. The model under investigation presents a section of the waveguide Inn 340 whose broad wall contains 15 movable slotted plates. This design allows to experimentally define a location of all the slots providing the necessary distribution of radiating power along the waveguide with minimal SWR of all the system. The variants of power uniform distribution along the waveguide as well as the power decreasing to the waveguide end are examined. The application of plates with different thickness allowed to estimate the influence of the walls thickness on the Power distribution. The possibility of system extra-tuning with the help of tuning screws located in the vicinity of each slot is considered. Obtained results are compared to the conducted theoretical calculations and data in references.

위성통신용 광대역 고온초전도 배열 안테나에 관한 연구 (Study on Broadband HTS Antenna Array for Satellite Communication)

  • Although $High-T_c $superconducting HTS antennas have high efficiency and high gain, narrow bandwidth due to the high Q is the major limitation for application of satellite communication and mobile communication. Defining bandwidth as the frequency range over which standing wave ratio (SWR) is 2:1 or less, HTS antenna bandwidths are typically less than 1 %. Thus considerable effort has been focused on developing HTS antennas for broadband operation. In this work the HTS antenna array, using the bipin antenna which consisted of two triangle-radiation patches, was designed and fabricated using a ${YBa}_2{Cu}_3{O}_7x (YBCO)$ superconducting thin film on a MgO substrate for broadband operation. Also gold antennas with the same dimension as our HTS antennas were fabricated on the MgO substrate for the comparison. Experimental results for both antennas were reported in terms of radiation patterns, return losses, bandwidths and other various characteristics. The center frequency of HTS antennas was 20.28 GHz and the bandwidth obtained was significant 10 %.

Conceptual design of a copper-bonded steam generator for SFR and the development of its thermal-hydraulic analyzing code

  • The Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) studied the sodium-water reaction (SWR) minimized steam generator for the safety of the sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR), and selected the copper bonded steam generator (CBSG) as the optimal concept. This paper introduces the conceptual design of the CBSG and the development of the CBSG sizing analyzer (CBSGSA). The CBSG consists of multiple heat transfer modules with a crossflow heat transfer configuration where sodium flows horizontally and water flows vertically. The heat transfer modules are stacked along a vertical direction to achieve the targeted large heat transfer capacity. The CBSGSA code was developed for the thermal-hydraulic analysis of the CBSG in a multi-pass crossflow heat transfer configuration. Finally, we conducted a preliminary sizing and rating analysis of the CBSG for the trans-uranium (TRU) core system using the CBSGSA code proposed by KAERI.

굴거리나무 2년생 용기묘의 피음수준별 묘목품질 특성 (Characteristics of Seedling Quality of Daphniphyllum macropodum 2-year-old Container Seedlings by Shading Level)

  • 본 연구는 내음성이 있는 수종으로 알려진 난대 상록활엽수종인 굴거리나무 2년생 용기묘(1-1묘)를 대상으로, 피음수준이 묘목품질에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 실시되었다. 피음은 전광과 전광의 35%, 55%, 75%, 95% 피음으로 조절하여 처리하였다. 피음수준에 따른 생장조사 결과, 간장과 근원경은 모두 75% 피음에서 각각 45.1 cm와 8.22 mm로 가장 컸으며, 그 다음은 35%와 55% 피음 순으로 각각 43.2 cm와 8.05 mm, 42.5 cm와 7.98 mm로 컸다. 잎, 줄기, 뿌리의 부위별 건물생산량과 전체 건물생산량 모두 75% 피음에서 가장 높았다. 그 다음은 55% 피음에서 잎, 줄기 및 전체 건물생산량이 높았으며, 뿌리의 경우는 35% 피음에서 높았다. H/D율은 상대적으로 높은 간장과 근원경생장을 보인 35~75% 피음처리구에서 5.29~5.35로 조사되었다. T/R율은 35% 피음에서 1.17로 가장 낮았다. LWR은 95% 피음에서 0.41로, SWR은 75%와 95% 피음에서 0.24로, RWR은 전광과 35% 피음에서 0.46으로 높았으며, QI는 75% 피음에서 3.74로 가장 높았다. 실험결과를 종합적으로 살펴보면, 굴거리나무는 75% 피음에서 생육하는 것이 보다 효과적일 것으로 판단된다.

붉나무 1년생 용기묘의 시비수준별 묘목품질 특성 (Characteristics of Seedling Quality of Rhus javanica L. 1-year-old Container Seedling by Fertilization Level)

  • 본 연구는 붉나무의 기능성 성분의 산업화 활용을 위한 고품질의 붉나무 1년생 용기묘 대량생산을 위해 실시되었다. 붉나무 1년생 용기묘의 묘목품질의 향상을 위해 다양한 농도의 시비처리하여 우량묘 생산에 적합한 시비수준을 구명하고자 하였다. 시비실험은 무시비구 포함하여 수용성 복합비료 (N:P:K=20:20:20, v/v)를 1,000mg·L-1, 2,000mg·L-1, 3,000mg·L-1 수준으로 실시하였다. 시비처리는 붉나무 용기묘의 간장과 근원경 생장은 1,000mg·L-1 시비처리구에서 생장이 가장 좋게 나타났으며 시비수준이 증가할수록 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 뿌리형태 특성분석에서도 전체뿌리길이, 투영단면적, 표면적 및 뿌리부피가 간장과 근원경 생장과 동일한 경향을 보이는 것으로 조사되었다. 건물 생산량은 부위별 잎, 줄기, 뿌리 및 전체가 모두 1,000mg·L-1 시비처리구에서 가장 높았으며, 그 이상의 시비수준에서는 점점 감소하는 경향을 보였다. H/D(Hight/Root collar diameter)율은 전체가 3.82(무시비구) ~ 4.90, T/R(Top/Root)율은 전체가 0.56(1,000mg·L-1 시비처리구) ~ 0.82로 조사되었다. 시비처리 에 의한 붉나무의 LWR(Leaf dry weight ratio)은 무시비구, SWR(Shoot dry weight ratio)은 3,000mg·L-1 시비처리구, 그리고 RWR(Root dry weight ratio)은 1,000mg·L-1 시비처리구에서 유의적 차이를 보이며 높게 나타났다. 묘목품질지수(QI)의 경우 1,000mg·L-1 시비처리구에서 12.13으로 다른 시비수준들보다 월등히 높았다. 본 실험의 결과를 종합하면, 뿌리발달이 좋은 우량한 붉나무 생산에 적절한 시비수준은 1,000mg·L-1 정도인 것으로 판단된다.

Effect of Panel Density and Resin Content on Properties of Medium Density Fiberboard

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of panel density and resin content on properties of medium density fiberboard (MDF) to obtain some insights on MDF properties as a function of panel density and resin content. MDF panels with different panel densities such as 650, 700, 750 and $800kg/m^3$ were manufactured by adjusting the amount of wood fibers in the mat forming. MDF panels were also fabricated by spraying 8, 10, 12, and 14% of urea-formaldehyde (UF) resins onto wood fibers in a drum-type mechanical blender to fabricate MDF panels with a target density of $650kg/m^3$. As the panel density and resin content increased, the internal bonding (IB) strength of MDF panel consistently increased. Modulus of rupture (MOR), modulus of elasticity (MOE) and screw withdrawal resistance (SWR) had a similar trend to the IB strength. In physical properties, thickness swelling (TS) and water absorption (WA) decreased with an increase in both panel density and resin content. In addition, the formaldehyde emission (FE) which increased as the panel density and resin content became greater. In overall, the panel density of MDF had more significant effect than the resin content in all properties of MDF panels, indicating that it was better to adjust the panel density rather than the resin content for MDF manufacture.

근접전계 측정을 위한 광대역 프로브의 특성에 대한 고찰 (The considerations of the characteristics of Broadband Probe for Near Field Measurements)

  • 본 논문에서는 안테나 근역장 측정의 광대역성을 위해 이중리지 도파관 프로브를 설계하고 제작한 결과를 보여주고 있다. 광대역 임피던스 정합을 위해 구형 도파관내에 테이퍼 리지와 도파관 천이기를 사용하였다. 본 프로브는 정재파비 3.0이하에서 약 123%(4.17:1)정도의 광대역 특성을 가지고 있으며 방사이득은 $5.7\sim14.3dBi$ 였다. 본 프로브의 성능은 측정을 통하여 검증하였으며 그 결과가 양호함을 알 수 있었다.

A simplified directly determination of soil-water retention curve from pore size distribution

  • Numbers fitting-curve equations have been proposed to predict soil-water retention curve (SWRC) whose parameters have no definitude physical meaning. And these methods with precondition of measuring SWRC data is time-consuming. A simplified directly method to estimate SWRC without parameters obtained by fitting-curve is proposed. Firstly, the total SWRC can be discretized into linear segments respectively. Every segment can be represented by linear formulation and every turning point can be determined by the pore-size distribution (PSD) of Mercury Intrusion Porosimetry (MIP) tests. The pore diameters governing the air-entry condition (AEC) and residual condition (RC) can be determined by the PSDs of MIP test. The PSD changes significantly during drying in SWR test, so the determination of AEC and RC should use the PSD under corresponding suction conditions. Every parameter in proposed equations can be determined directly by PSD without curve-fitting procedure and has definitude physical meaning. The proposed equations give a good estimation of both unimodal and bimodal SWRCs.

Anti-mutagenic Activity of Salvia merjamie Extract Against Gemcitabine

  • Gemcitabine is an anti-cancer drug with clinically uses in the treatment of various neoplasms, including breast, ovarian, non-small cell lung, pancreaticand cervical cancers, T-cell malignancies, germ cell tumours, and hepatocellular carcinomas. However, it has also been reported to have many adverse effects. Naturally occurring anti-mutagenic effects, especially those of plant origin, have recently become a subject of intensive research. The present study was therefore designed to investigate the anti-mutagenic effects of Salvia merjamie (Family: Lamiaceae) plant extracts against the mutagenic effects of gemcitabine. The anti-mutagenic properties of Salvia merjamie were tested in Inbred SWR/J male and female mice bone marrow cells. The mice were treated in four groups; a control group treated with 30 mg/kg body weight gemcitabine and three treatment groups, each with 30 mg/kg body weight gemcitabine together with, respectively, 50, 100 and 150 mg/kg body weight Salvia merjamie extract. Chromosomal aberration and mitotic index assays were performed with the results demonstrating that Salvia merjamie extract protects bone marrow cells in mice against gemcitabine induced mutagenicity. This information can be used for the development of a potential therapeutic anti-mutagenic agents.

SPECTRUM WEIGHTED RESPONSES OF SEVERAL DETECTORS IN MIXED FIELDS OF FAST AND THERMAL NEUTRONS

  • The spectrum weighted responses of various detectors were calculated to provide guidance on the proper selection and use of survey instruments on the basis of their energy response characteristics on the neutron fields. To yield the spectrum weighted response, the detector response functions of 17 neutron-measuring devices were numerically folded with each of the produced calibration neutron spectra through the in-house developed software 'K-SWR'. The detectors' response functions were taken from the IAEA Technical Reports Series No. 403 (TRS-403). The reference neutron fields of 21 kinds with 2 spectra groups with different proportions of thermal and fast neutrons have been produced using neutrons from the $^{241}Am$-Be sources held in a graphite pile, a bare $^{241}Am$-Be source, and a DT neutron generator. Fluence-average energy ($E_{ave}$) varied from 3.8 MeV to 16.9 MeV, and the ambient-dose-equivalent rate [$H^*(10)/h$] varied from 0.99 to 16.5 mSv/h.
