Effectiveness analysis based on computational thinking of a computing course for non-computer majors (컴퓨팅 사고력 관점에서 본 컴퓨터 비전공자 대상 교양 컴퓨팅 수업의 효과성 분석 연구)

  • Given the background of so-called 'the 4th industrial revolution', universities practice computing education for non-majors to equip them with computational thinking(CT). Universities apply different courses but researches analyzing effectiveness of the courses based on CT are limited. This research is conducted to understand a computing course for non-majors is effective in terms of CT. A CT based evaluation framework is designed referring to AP Computer Science Principles. Questionnaires are developed based on the framework and applied to the course participants. As results, students' post scores are significantly higher than pre scores. In addition, there are significant differences in pre-test scores by major category while there is no difference in post-test. Humanity & social science group showed the largest difference between pre and post results with science & engineering and computer in order. In sum, it is found that this course is effective to facilitate students abilities in terms of CT, particularly for the non-computer majors.

Learning Effect Analysis for Flipped Learning based Computer Use Instruction (플립드 러닝 기반 컴퓨터 활용 수업의 학습 효과 분석)

  • This paper suggests efficient learning improvement method of computer use instruction based on flipped learning. Traditional computer use classes were difficult to practice and collaborative with sufficient lectures. However, we used KOCW (Korea Open Courseware) as a footsteps in the class using the flipped learning method and learned in advance before entering the classroom. In the classroom, we conducted collaborative hands on class based on mutual discussion. After the instruction, we measured learning motivation and satisfaction by gender, grade, and major using the motivation test tool. The results showed that degree of attention awareness, perception of class relevance and perception of learning satisfaction were analyzed as 'very satisfied' and 'satisfied' more than 90%.

A Study on Information Literacy Education for Enhancing Computational Thinking (컴퓨팅 사고력 향상을 위한 정보소양교육에 관한 연구)

  • In the fourth industrial revolution, the government has established a policy to cultivate the creative convergent talent with software literacy in order to cultivate human resources leading the economy. Therefore, software education based on computational thinking is being adopted in liberal arts courses in universities. However it would be damaged the fundamental objectives for increasing computational thinking by a weighted stress of students to learn programming of software education. In this paper, we proposed a teaching method that can improve computing thinking through information literacy education which can be directly applied in practice as a way to reduce the burden on the programming learning of software education. Through this paper, it was found that information literacy education can improve the computing thinking as well as the computing ability by making it possible to construct enough knowledge, analysis and efficient procedures for problems.

A Study on Efficient Software Education Donation Ecosystem

  • In this paper, we propose a software education ecosystem model for activating software education donation. First, in order to investigate current software education donation status, we will conduct a survey on software education donors and analyze the results. 39.6% of the software education donors responded that they were introduced to software education donation activities through their affiliated companies, institutions, organizations. Therefore, it can be seen that the promotion of software education donation activities is the most effective by promoting through software companies, organizations, and organizations and using human networks. The subjects of software education donation activities were the highest at middle school students (73.9%), and the contents of software education donations were the highest at programming practice (63.3%). Donors' satisfaction with software education donation activities was 57.9%. The social support for SW education donors was in the order of software education contents support, activity cost support, equipment and network support, and place sponsorship. 87.4% of donors were willing to continue to donate to software education. The reason why they did not want to continue donating software education was 'lack of personal time' (65.4%). Therefore, it is necessary to develop appropriate social support and incentive system to overcome shortage of personal time in order to activate software education contribution. In order to promote sustainable software education donations, it is essential to establish a virtuous circle of software education donation ecosystem based on cooperation and solidarity with various organizations such as government, corporations, institutions, universities and civil society organizations.

A Development of the Customer based On-premise ERP Implementation Process Framework

  • As the definition of the vendor-oriented implementation method, which was utilized in adopting an ERP system, has been centered around the project construction business, it was difficult for the EPR adopting organization to systematically prepare ERP projects and have enough deliberative opportunities to change-related policies. Furthermore, this method does not have a fully standardized construction process. Accordingly, by defining an organization that wants to adopt an ERP system as a customer, this paper develops the customer-based ERP construction process framework that assists both customers and developers who construct the system. For this purpose, this paper reviews the previous research and collects the construction processes of the commercial ERP SW vendor and ERP construction cases while proposing the three-layer process framework to construct ERP through the KJ method. The ERP process framework consists of 7 processes, 32 activities, 141 tasks while providing definitions for concepts of each component. Furthermore, the proposed processes and phases were set in order of the recommended execution, while the activities were suggested as an open-ended type so that the application and usability can be increased and polished by reflecting experts' opinions. The contribution of this study is to standardize the ERP project process by transforming the previous supplier-based ERP construction method into the customer-based one while providing important procedure and activity frameworks that apply to diverse ERP solutions per vendor. At the same time, this study provides an theoretical foundation to develop the construction process for the customer -based Cloud ERP. In practice, At the beginning of the ERP system construction project, it provides communication or process tailoring tools for the stakeholder.

Analyzing the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) education program based on design thinking process (디자인씽킹 프로세스 기반의 인공지능(AI) 교육 프로그램 적용 효과분석)

  • At the beginning of the discussion of AI education in K-12 education, the study was conducted to develop and apply an AI education program based on Design Thinking and analyze the effects of the AI education programs. In the AI education program, students explored and defined the AI problems they were interested in, gathered the necessary data to build an AI model, and then developed a project using scratch. In order to analyze the effectiveness of the AI education program, the change of learner's perception of the value of AI and the change of AI efficacy were analyzed. The overall perception of the AI project was also analyzed. As a result, AI efficacy was significantly increased through the experience of carrying out the project according to the Design Thinking process. In addition, the efficacy of solving problems with AI was influenced by the level of use of programming languages. The learner's overall perception of the AI project was positive, and the perceptions of each stage of the AI project (AI problem understanding and problem exploration, practice, problem definition, problem solving idea implementation, evaluation and presentation) was also positive. This positive perception was higher among students with high level of programming language use. Based on these results, the implications for AI education were suggested.

  • As Internet advances, websites with simpel HTML pages are changing to complex web application systems with enormous contents and various services. With this trend, it is noted that situations where Web accessibility of the old and the handicapped is inhibited are growing. To solve this problem, The Disability Discrimination Act has been enacted since April 2013. This act triggers massive website reorganization efforts. However, in order for the huge and sophisticated web applications and web sites to ensure a web accessibility, a framework is required to throughout the web site development. Based on thorough review of website development methodologies, web accessibility compliance standards, and various web accessibility issues related to website characteristics, this study proposes a practice oriented "Web Accessibility Compliance Framework". The current study also examines the usefulness and value of this framework by applying it to the internet banking development project of W bank and receiving a certificate for high quality website complying web accessibility standards.

A Case Study of Basic Data Science Education using Public Big Data Collection and Spreadsheets for Teacher Education (교사교육을 위한 공공 빅데이터 수집 및 스프레드시트 활용 기초 데이터과학 교육 사례 연구)

  • In this paper, a case study of basic data science practice education for field teachers and pre-service teachers was studied. In this paper, for basic data science education, spreadsheet software was used as a data collection and analysis tool. After that, we trained on statistics for data processing, predictive hypothesis, and predictive model verification. In addition, an educational case for collecting and processing thousands of public big data and verifying the population prediction hypothesis and prediction model was proposed. A 34-hour, 17-week curriculum using a spreadsheet tool was presented with the contents of such basic education in data science. As a tool for data collection, processing, and analysis, unlike Python, spreadsheets do not have the burden of learning program- ming languages and data structures, and have the advantage of visually learning theories of processing and anal- ysis of qualitative and quantitative data. As a result of this educational case study, three predictive hypothesis test cases were presented and analyzed. First, quantitative public data were collected to verify the hypothesis of predicting the difference in the mean value for each group of the population. Second, by collecting qualitative public data, the hypothesis of predicting the association within the qualitative data of the population was verified. Third, by collecting quantitative public data, the regression prediction model was verified according to the hypothesis of correlation prediction within the quantitative data of the population. And through the satisfaction analysis of pre-service and field teachers, the effectiveness of this education case in data science education was analyzed.

A Study on the Relationship between Volunteer Experience and Subjective Self-awareness (자원봉사활동 경험과 주관적 자아인식 관계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study explained the experience of volunteering activities and the relationship of subjective self-awareness in order to examine the social meaning of volunteer activities. For adults aged 20 or older, 312 volunteering experience and social support awareness were analyzed on the level of self-identity by allocation sampling method depending on gender and age. The analysis results of this study were as follows. First, it was found that those who have experienced volunteer activitiies have a relatively simple willingness to participate in professional volunteer activities and those who have experienced volunteer activities. Second, social support and self-identification were different depending on whether they have experienced volunteer activities. Third, age, volunteer participation, willingness to participated in volunteering, and social support were analyzed as explanatory factors predicting self-identification of research participants. Based on the research results, volunteer activities to positively promote self-awareness suggested the need to practice volunteer activities according to the life cycle so that social meaning can be given. As a policy suggestion, the need for volunteer activities was closely analyzed to enable healthy self-forming for well-aging from adulthood to old age to discussed the need for policies and systems to strengthen volunteer motivation as leisure activities.
