Pure bending creep of SUS 304 stainless steel tubes

  • This paper presents the experimental and theoretical results of SUS 304 stainless tubes with different diameter-to-thickness ratio (D/t ratio) subjected to pure bending creep. Pure bending creep occurs when a circular tube is bent to a desired moment and held at that moment for a period of time. It was found that the magnitudes of the creep curvature and ovalization of tube cross-section increase faster with a higher hold moment than that with a lower one. Due to continuously increasing curvature, the circular tubes eventually buckle. Finally, a theoretical form was proposed in this study so that it can be used to describe the relationship between the creep curvature and time. Theoretical simulations are compared with the experimental test data, showing that good agreement between the experimental and theoretical results has been achieved.

용접부의 열처리에 따른 잔류응력의 파양거동에 미치는 영향 (On the Effect of Residual Stress on Fracture Behavior at the Welded Zone According to Annealing Temperature)

  • In this study, a mild steel (SS41) of the carbon steel, a spring steel (SUP-9), and stainless steel (SUS 304) of the special gceel, etc, are adopted as the experimental materrials and are weded by $CO_2$(SS41, SUP-9), TIG (SUS304), respectively. And the residual stress distribution and fracture behavior at the welded zone are examined according to annealing temperatures of four section involving as welded. As a consequence, the best annealing temperatures that the residual stress is removed enough and mechanical properties are very suitable are at 90$0^{\circ}C$ (SS41), 75$0^{\circ}C$ (SUP-9), 110$0^{\circ}C$ (SUS 304), respectively.

SUS304 절삭시 Carbide 공구의 Crater 마모에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Crater Wear of Carbide Tool in Cutting SUS304)

  • This paper deals with crater wear when the SUS304 steel which forms the saw- toothed chip was cut by carbide tools. When the saw-toothed chip was formed, and optical creater wear measuring technique was used which provides complete information, both qualitatively and quantitatively, on the crater development. In this optical contour mapping technique an profile projector was used, making it possible to draw the depth contours of the crater directly. 98 contour maps of crater wear representing twelve different cutting conditions were presented. Also, the rake angles changed to have ${\alpha}$ =$6^{\circ}$, ${\alpha}$ =$-6^{\circ}$

코팅과 열처리가 연료전지 분리판의 내식성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Coaling and Annealing on Noncorrosive of Fuel Cell Separator)

  • The molten carbonate fuel cell has conspicuous feature and high potential in being used as an energy converter of various fuel to electricity and heat. However, the molten carbonate fuel cell which use strongly corrosive molten carbonate at $650^{\circ}C$ have many problem. One of the material problems is the severe corrosion of the metallic components, such as the separator. The effect of coating and annealing treatment on the corrosion for SUS 304 and SUS 430 which are the candidate materials for molten carbonate fuel cell hardware has been investigated in molten carbonate at $650^{\circ}C$ by using steady state polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy method. It was found that the corrosion current of these SUS 304 and SUS 430 decreased with coating and annealing treatment.

  • 본 연구에서는 위의 두번째 연구동향과 맥락을 같이하는 것으로서 스테인리스 강(SUS304)에 대한 진공브레이징 연구 및 탄소강의 진공 브레이징에 대한 연구결과들 을 토대로 하여 SUS304와 탄소강과의 진공브레이징 현상을 연구하였는데 특히 모재의 탄소함유량, 브레이징시간 및 접합부 틈새(joint clearance)등에 따라 접합부에 나타 나는 여러 금속학적 현상의 규명 및 접합강도(joint strength)에 대해 변수들이 미치 는 영향을 연구 하였다.

  • It is known that fine straightness of micro-wire can be obtained by removing residual stress induced during the manufacturing processes. Generally, residual stress is removed or minimized through several drawing processes with heat treatment. In this study, the residual stress at each straightening process is calculated and monitored by finite element analyses and the main reason of stress change is investigated.

  • Welding characteristics of austienite 304 stainless steel and SM45C using a continuous wave Nd:YAG laser are experimentally investigated. Laser beam welding is increasingly being used in welding of structural steels. The laser welding process is one of the most advanced manufacturing technologies owing to its high speed and deep penetration. This paper describes the weld ability of SM45C carbon steel and austienite 304 stainless steel for machine structural use by Nd:YAG laser.
