Development of Application Block Using Geobond and Ash from Sewage Sludge Incinerator II (하수슬러지 소각재와 무기바인더를 이용한 응용 블록 개발 II)

  • This study investigated to recycle geobond and ash produced in thesewage sludge incinerator using reduction/stabilization. Nonsintering process was performed by binding cement (High Early Strength Portland cement, Micro cement), geobond and sand mixed with sewage sludge ash (SSA). Chemical ingradients of the sewage sludge ash was mainly composed of $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, $Fe_2O_3$, CaO and others, which were similar to those of the each binders consisting High Early Strength Portland cement, Micro cement and geobond. Results showed that unconfined the long term compressive strength could be obtained components of sewage sludge ash. It exceeded more than double score 64.6 MPa of the Korean standard ($22.54MPa=229.7kg/cm^2$). Microstructure of solidified block for the different admixture was related to the compressive strength according to SEM analysis. Optimum mixing range of the sewage sludge ash to each binders were found to be 10~40% which can widly safely regulate the confined a long term compressive strength. The best binder of long term compressive strengh was revealed Geobond more than High Early Strength Portland cement and Micro cement. This study revealed the sewage sludge ash can be partial replacement of the inorganic binder & application block for recycling.

  • A bulk liquid membrane system was introduced for selective separation of an amino acid mixture. We confirmed p-diamethylaminobenzaldehyde (DAB), sulfosalicylic acid (SSA) and 1-naphtol were very useful carriers for selective separation of an amino acid mixture. As a result, Ala, Leu, Val, Phe and Ile were successfully separated by SSA, 1-naphtol in basic condition, 1-naphtol in weak acidic condition, DAB in strong acidic condition and DAB in strong basic condition. The separation mechanism was proposed by ion pair mechanism in the case of SSA and 1-naphtol and Imine bond formation mechanism was also introduced for DAB.

Studies on the Preparation and Characterization of PVA Based Cation-exchange Membranes for DMFC Application (직접 메탄올 연료전지 적용을 위한 PVA 기반 양이온교환막 제조 및 특성연구)

  • The water-soluble poly(vinyl alcohol) membranes with the addition of sulfosuccinic acid (SSA) were prepared and to assign the ion exchange capacity, poly(4-styrene sulfonic acid-co-maleic acid) (PSSA_MA) was added to PVA according to PSSA_MA contents of 70, 80 and 90 wt%. To characterize the resulting membranes, FT-IR, water contents, ion exchange capacity, proton conductivity and methanol permeability were measured. As PSSA_MA contents increased, water contents, ion exchange capacity, proton conductivity increased, but methanol permeability decreased. From these results, the best preparation component was known as PVA10/SSA9/PSSA_MA80.

  • The measurement of physicochemical properties and chemical composition of SSA(sewage sludge ash) has been carried out and the preparation of lightweight material has also been performed using SSA for reuse as building or construction materials. For this aim, lightweight material has been prepared by forming the mixture of SSA, lightweight filler and inorganic binder followed by calcination at elevated temperature and characterized in terms of density and compressive strength. The pH of fly ash was found to be slightly alkaline, pH 8.69, due to the addition of caustic soda in order to neutralize the acidic gas while the pH of bottom ash was 6.48 Heavy metal leachability based on the standard leach test was also found to be below the detection limit for Cd, Cu, Pb, As and Cr of SSA. As far as the compressive strength of lightweight material was concerned, the compressive strength of lightweight material using fly ash was higher than that of lightweight material using bottom ash.

Turbulence Properties in the Near-Wake of a Circular Cylinder Using Power Spectral Estimation and Singular Spectral Analysis (PSE와 SSA를 이용한 원형 실린더 근접 후류 지역의 난류 특성 연구)

  • 원형 실린더를 주변 흐름에 관한 연구는 오랜 기간 유체역학 전 영역에서 모형실험이나 수치모형으로 광범위하게 연구되었다. 이 흐름은 하천의 교각이나, 바다의 시추선과 같은 수공구조물 주변에서 관측된다. 난류와 와류가 공존하는 복잡한 특성 때문에, 이 흐름은 수공학에서 유사이송, 세굴, 오염물 확산 등에 영향을 준다. 본 연구는 실험실 수로에 설치된 원형 실린더(D=9cm) 후방의 근접 와류 구간에서(x/D<5) 유속을 ADV로 측정한 후, 난류 특성을 Power Spectral Estimation(PSE)와 Singular Spectral Analysis(SSA) 방법으로 연구하였다. PSE는 샘플 스펙트럼의 한계를 보완하고자 자료를 분할하고, window 함수를 적용하여 ensemble 평균을 구하는 경험적 방법이다. PSE를 이용하여 스펙트럼을 계산한 결과, 주 흐름 및 횡방향 흐름은 Inertial subrange에서 Kolmogorov의 가정과 일치하는 추세를 보였다. 그러나 수심방향 흐름의 스펙트럼은 -5/3보다 빠르게 감소하는 추세를 보였다. Inertial subrange 스펙트럼에서 난류 에너지 소산율은 원형 실린더에서 멀어짐에 따라 감소하는 추세를 보였고, 주 흐름방향과 횡방향 흐름은 비슷한 크기를 보였다. 난류 에너지 소산율과 동점성계수를 이용하여 Kolmogorov 길이, 유속, 시간 스케일을 계산했다. 난류의 운동에너지를 계산하기 위해 Triple decomposition 방법 중 하나인 SSA를 적용하였다. SSA는 유속행렬을 이용하여 고윳값과 고유벡터를 계산하고, 유속에서 기여도가 큰 부분을 추출하는 방법이다. SSA를 통해 실린더 후방 흐름에서 와류 성분과 난류 성분을 나누었다. 횡방향 흐름은 강한 와류로 큰 기여도를 갖는 고유벡터가 나타났지만, 주 흐름과 수심방향 흐름은 상대적으로 낮은 기여도를 갖는 고유벡터가 나타났다. 와류를 제외한 흐름에서 난류 운동에너지는 실린더와 멀어짐에 따라 감소하고, 흐름 중앙에서(y/D=0) 가장 큰 값을 보였다.

  • The advent of various mobile devices and mobile services has caused diversification of information stored in a mobile device, e.g., SMS, photos, movies, addresses, e-mails, digital certificates, and so on. Because mobile devices are lost or stolen easily, user authentication is critical to protect the information stored in mobile devices. However, the current user authentication methods using Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) and passwords are vulnerable to Shoulder Surfing Attacks (SSAs), which enables an attacker to obtain user's information. Although there are already several SSA-resistant authentication methods in the literature, most of these methods lack of usability. Moreover, they are not suitable for use in mobile devices. In this paper, we propose a user friendly password input method for mobile devices which is secure against SSA. We also perform user tests and compare the security and usability of the proposed method with those of the existing password input methods.

  • This report contains information about "System Selection Assistant"(SSA) - Program, which can help customers of manufacturing company to select optimal electro-mechanical system for their purposes. This Program shows main principles of programs, which can help to make decision, using knowledge of experts. Program consists of two main parts: "Expert's part" must be tuned by expert and "Customer's part" can be used to make final decision about optimal parts of system. This report describes all parts of SSA program and shows simple example of selection parts of electro-mechanical system.

  • Four-digit PIN(Personal Identification Number) is a well-known user authentication method used for many applications including ATMs and mobile phones. However, it is vulnerable to shoulder surfing attacks(SSAs). In this paper, we present new PIN entry methods which are secure against SSA and easy to use. We compare the usability and security of these methods with those of the existing methods.

Cluster Analysis on the Distribution of Lichens in the Mt. Hanra (漢拏山 地依植物의 分布에 關한 集落分析)

  • The cluster analysis on the distribution of epiphytic lichens on the north, south, east and west slope of Mt. Hanra was carried out by three methods, sum of square algorithm (SSA), prinicipal component analysis (PCA) and multidimensional scaling method(MDS). Analysis of concentration (AOC) was used for the comparison between the lichen communities of north and south slope. The lichen species was identified 35 species by Hale and Culberson technique. The classification of sites by SSA method was divided into two areas in four slopes, and that of species by SSA, PCA and MDS methods was classified into three clusters in east slope, four clusters in south and west slope, and there clusters in north slope. The comparison between north and south slope of the distribution of lichens indicates that loight elevation of north slope (NH; 1600m~1900m) was similar to that of relative low elevation of south slope (SL; 1000m~1300m). The genus lichen, Anaptychia, Parmelia, Lobaria and peltigera was found as the dominant genus in both slopes.

  • This paper categorizes currently available theories of focus into two major types a 'discourse structure approach'(DSA) and a 'sentence structure approach'(SSA) The former DSA is intended to refer to a type of approach that analyzes focus only in terms of the discourse structure in which a focused sentence occurs. The alternative semantics approach which is the most widely available theory of focus belongs to this The latter SSA is meant to refer to a type of theory that analyzes focus in terms of sentence-internal structure, This study supports the SSA be revealing some empirical problems of the DSA that arise is analyzing two different kinds of focus, the A-accented focus and the B-accented focus (contrastive topic), and provides a brief sketch of a comprehensive analysis of focus and contrastive topic.
