The SRM (Switched Reluctance Motor) has a more inherent simple mechanical structure, greater ruggedness and higher efficiency than a conventional AC motor. It is for these reasons that SRM is widely applied in an extensive range of industrial applications. In this paper, SRM is designed and analyzed for EPS (Electrical Power Steering) application. Electrical power steering in a vehicle plays the role of reducing a driver's handling control power. For proper design, a FEM analysis is implemented according to the rotor structure. Using both a FEM and a magnetic circuit analysis, a designed motor is simulated and tested. The effectiveness of the suggested SRM drive for EPS application is verified by the prototype motor drive tests.
This paper is proposed the modeling and computational methods for estimating the steady and dynamic characteristics of a transverse flux type SRM. To obtain characteristics parameters of the transverse flux type SRM which is considered the magnetic non-linearity phenomena. the magnetic equivalent parameters of SRM are computed by the finite element method as functions of the input current and angular displacement. Dynamic characteristics of the designed transverse flux type SRM is simulated and estimated by Matlab/simlunk.
The recently developed correlative super-resolution fluorescence microscopy (SRM) and electron microscopy (EM) is a hybrid technique that simultaneously obtains the spatial locations of specific molecules with SRM and the context of the cellular ultrastructure by EM. Although the combination of SRM and EM remains challenging owing to the incompatibility of samples prepared for these techniques, the increasing research attention on these methods has led to drastic improvements in their performances and resulted in wide applications. Here, we review the development of correlative SRM and EM (sCLEM) with a focus on the correlation of EM with different SRM techniques. We discuss the limitations of the integration of these two microscopy techniques and how these challenges can be addressed to improve the quality of correlative images. Finally, we address possible future improvements and advances in the continued development and wide application of sCLEM approaches.
Switched reluctance motor(SRM) has simple magnetic structure, and requires simple power electronic driving circuit. It is very useful for wide range adjustable speed drive system. But, SRM drive generates large vibration and acoustic noise because it is commutated individually by step pulse m.m.f of each phase pole. In the vibration and acoustic noise characteristics. The considerable vibration and noise is induced by radial deforming of stator, so the frequency of dominant vibration and noise is coincident with the frequency of natural mode frequency of mechanical structure. This radial vibration force is generated in the phase commutation region. This paper suggests the new electromagnetic structure of SRM with auxiliary commutation winding which is excited by direct current. This phase and commutation winding are coupled magnetically between one phase winding and the other. Therefore, the switch-off phase current is absorbed by the another phase winding. By this interaction of phase and commutation winding in commutation mechanism, vibration and noise is reduced. And this reduction effect is examined by the test of prototype machine. As a result, SRM with DC exciting commutation winding is very useful to reduce vibration and acoustic noise.
This paper is intended to research the speed response of switched reluctance motor (SRM) using sliding mode control method when load is changing. The simulation compare only control by PI controller with control by PI controller and sliding mode controller. It compare with speed response using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
In this paper, a novel method of sensorless control scheme is proposed to apply on a single phase hybrid SRM used in high speed operation. The proposed method utilizes beneficially permanent magnet field whose performance is motor parameter independent to estimate the rotor position. The differential value of back-EMF is used to detect its peak point when there is no current conducting in the winding. Through this approach, the adjustable turn on/off position can be achieved without prior knowledge of inductance profile which is always employed by many sensorless schemes. And this paper may offer an available method to do the sensorless control in hybrid SRM used for high speed running.
In switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive, it is necessary to synchronize the stator phase excitation with the rotor position. Therefore the rotor position information is an essential. Usually optical encoders or resolvers are used to provide the rotor position information. These sensors are expensive and are not suitable for high speed operation. In general, the accuracy of the switching angle is dependent upon the resolution of the encoder and the sampling period of the microprocessor. But the region of high speed, switching angles are fluctuated back and forth from the preset values, which are cause by the sampling period of the microprocessor. Therefore, the low cost linear encoder suitable for the practical and stable SRM drive is proposed and the control algorithm to provide the switching signals using the simple digital logic circuit is also presented in this paper. It is verified from the experiments that the proposed encoder and logic controller can be a powerful candidate for the practical low cost SRM drive.

In switched reluctance motor(SRM) deives, the turn-on and turn-off angles of each phase switch should be accurately controlled for accuracy and efficiency. The accuracy of the switching angles is mainly dependent upon the resolution of the encoder and the sampling period of the microprocessor, that are used to provide the information of the rotor position and to implement a control algorithm of the SRM, respectively. Thus, the higher the speed of the SRM is increased, the larger the amount of the switching angle deviations are from preset turn-on and turn-off angles. Consequently, the motor can not be driven stably high speed region. There fore, a simples and low cost encoder suitable for the practical and stable SRM drive is proposed and the control algorithm to provide the switching signals using a simple digital logic circuit is also presented for a wide speed range operation.
Aim: To assess the diagnostic utility of serum and salivary interleukin 6 (IL-6) levels in the differential diagnosis of potentially malignant lesions and conditions (PMLs/PMCs) and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) in a high oral cancer prevalence region. Methods: After appropriate ethical clearance and informed consent, salivary and blood samples were collected from 100 participants in each group (OSCC, PMLs, and healthy controls). Serum and salivary IL-6 levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and data were subjected to appropriate statistical analysis. Results: Significant differences in IL-6 concentration were noted between OSCC and PML/C patients in both serum and saliva, with salivary levels being 2 to 3 fold higher than serum values in all the groups. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis demonstrated 96% specificity and 99% sensitivity for salivary IL-6 in differentiating PML from OSCC. Conclusions: The results of the present study suggest that the pro-inflammatory cytokine, IL-6, is elevated in the saliva of patients with OSSC compared to PMD and controls, and thus may prove to have diagnostic and/or prognostic significance.
