  • 제 3세대로 불리우는 차세대 발전시스템인 고체산화물 연료전지(Solid Oxide Fuel Cell, SOFC)는 연료전지 가운데 발전효율이 가장 높고, NOx와 SOx의 발생이 없는 무공해 청정에너지 발전 시스템으로 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이중 원통형 구조는 전력밀도가 평판형 구조에 비해 다소 떨어지나 반응기체의 밀봉이 쉽고, 기계적 강도가 높으며, 열응력에 대한 저항성이 높아 스텍제작이 비교적 용이하며 장기 운전이 가능하다는 장점이 있으며, 평판형 구조의 경우는 전류의 흐름이 구성요소의 면에 수직방향으로 흐르므로 전력밀도가 높은 장점이 있으나 가스의 밀봉이 어렵고, 기계적 강도나 열응력에 대한 저항성이 높은 단점을 갖고 있다. 본 연구에서는 원통형 구조와 평판형 구조의 상호 장점을 보완하여 기존의 원통형의 구조를 최적화하여 개선한 연료극 지지체식 Flat-Tube형 고체산화물 연료전지의 제조와 특성에 대한 연구를 발표하고자 한다.

Development of Renewable Energy Source in Mongolia: Biodiesel (몽골지역의 신재생에너지 발굴: 바이오디젤)

  • Recently, the development of renewable energy sources in Mongolia has been needed due to climate change and air pollution in Ulaanbaatar as rapid economic growth. Biodiesel can be considered as an alternative fuel for petroleum based diesel in order to decrease air pollution in Ulaanbaatar because of its no emission of particle materials from internal combustion engine in automobile. Rapeseed oil having low cloud point and pour point was suggested as a promising raw material for biodiesel production in Mongolia. Considering high population density and severe air pollution by particle materials and SOx in Ulaanbaatar, prior supplying site of biodiesel in Mongolia was the capital region including Ulaanbaatar. In the production of biodiesel in Mongolia, adsorption process was a effective alternative to washing process for the removal of residual alkali catalyst and reactants due to long winter time in Mongolia. For the stable supply of biodiesel, subsidy and no tax policy is needed in the early stage of biodiesel supply in Mongolia.

  • RDF(Refuse-Derived Fuel) is a fuel of pelletized form made of combustible solid wastes and can not only be used as alternative energy to fossil fuel but also solve troubles in thermal uses of incinerator. As the first stage for obtaining elementary data required to develop criteria of raw materials appropriate to RDF combustion facilities actively spread recently in Korea, preliminary experiments were conducted on CO, SOx, NOx and HCl production and reduction characteristics in combustion of RDF. RDF samples weighing 2~3 g per a sample were manufactured in a lab-scale way and combustion tests of RDF were carried out in electric furnace with quartz tube of 50 mm inside diameter.

The Characteristics of the Treatment of Pollutants ($SO_2$, NOx) Using Surface Discharge Induced Plasma Chemical Process (SPCP를 이용한 오염물질 ($SO_2$, NOx) 처리 특성)

  • Plasma process has great possibilities to remove SOx, NOx simultaneously with high treatment efficiency and is expected to be suitable for small or middle plants. It was accomplished to evaluate SO2, NOx control possibility and achieve basic data to control pollutants by use of Surface Discharge Induced Plasma Chemical Process (SPCP) in this study. O3 generation characteristics by discharge of a plate was proportional to O2 concentration and power consumption and inversely proportional to temperature and humidity, In case of dry air, NOx was highly generated by N2 and O2 in air during the plasma discharge process but it was decreased considerably as H2O was added. SO2 removal efficiency was very high, and removal rate was 170,350 mEA at 30,50 watt respectively in flue gas which is usually contain HIO. NOx removal efficiency was about 57% at 40 watt power consumption with 7.5% humidity. It is estimated that H2O has an important role in reaction mechanism with pollutants according to plasma discharge.

  • 흡수식 2중 효용 냉온수기의 개발 현황을 소개하고자 하며, 흡수식 관련 연구개발이 보다 활성화되는 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 하절기 및 동절기의 중대형 빌딩의 냉난방 부하 대응에 흡수식 냉온수기가 차지하고 있는 비율이 높음으로 흡수식 냉온수기의 고효율화가 경제 및 산업적으로 건물 에너지 절감 및 국가 전체 가스 에너지 절약에 미치는 파급 효과는 매우 크다. 흡수식냉동기는 근본적으로 오존파괴의 문제가 없는 냉매를 사용하고 있고, 고급연료인 LNG를 주로 사용하고 있기 때문에, 지구온난화 유발물질인 $CO_2$ 배출량이 다른 연료에 비해 작다. 아울러 극소량의 공해물질(Nox, Sox)을 방출하며 공해문제를 별로 발생시키지 않기 때문에 흡수식냉동기의 연구개발을 거의 하지 않은 서방 선진국에서도 환경친화적인 흡수식 제품에 대한 관심이 최근에 급증하고 있다.(중략)

Preparation of Novel Sorbents for Gas-phase Mercury Removal

  • In the present research, we prepared the activated carbon (AC) sorbents to remove gas-phase mercury. The mercury adsorption of virgin AC, chemically treated AC and fly ash was performed. Sulfur impregnated and sulfuric acid impregnated ACs were used as the chemically treated ACs. A simulated flue gas was made of SOx, NOx and mercury vapor in nitrogen balance. A reduced mercury adsorption capacity was obtained with the simulated gas as compared with that containing only mercury vapor in nitrogen. With the simulated gas, the sulfuric acid treated AC showed the highest performance, but it might have the problem of corrosion due to the emission of sulfuric acid. It was also found that the high sulfur impregnated AC also released a portion of sulfur at $140^{\circ}C$. Thus, it was concluded that the low sulfur impregnated AC was suitable for the treatment of flue gas in terms of stability and efficiency.

  • As conservation of global environment has becoming a major outstanding issue of the world, the International Maritime Organization(IMO) has been legislation a convention for prevention of air pollution from ships. By the new convention, use of air pollutants such as SO/sub x/, NO/sub x/, Freon and Halon Gas shall be restricted. In this regards, analysing these requirements of the convention is required as the convention will also be applied on restriction of discharging exhaust gases from ships by establishing a requirement of SO/sub x/ and NO/sub x/ discharged. The purposed of this study is as follows ; 1) Introducing of the backgrounds of legislating the convention for prevention of air pollution from ships and major contents of the convention and a countermeasures on the convention by Korea. 2) Reviewing by analyzing the influence on domestic industies concerned by restriction of SO/sub x/, NO/sub x/ in exhaust gases and sulphur content of fuel oil. 3) Preparing a countermeasure on the convention properly.

  • 최근 자동차 수요증가 및 산업용 보일러 둥 급증하는 추세이며 이로 인한 대도시 대기오염 문제는 위험수위에 도달해 있다. 이러한 산업용 보일러, 화력발전소등 고정배출원과 자동차에서 발생하는 배기가스에는 인체에 유해한 일산화탄소(CO), 질소산화물(NOx), 황산화물(SOx)등이 다량 함유되어 있다. 유독성 가스중 질소산화물(NOx) 저감방법에는 특히 선택적 촉매환원법(Selective Catalytic Reduction, SCR)이 가장 널리 적용되고 있다. SCR법은 촉매하에서 NH$_3$, CO, 탄화수소(메탄, 에탄올, 프로판 등)의 환원제를 사용하여 NOx를 $N_2$로 전환하시키는 기술이다. (중략)

  • 유동층 연소기술은 다양한 연료의 사용과 SOx와 같은 공해물질의 배출제어가 용이하여 환경규제에 대한 대처능력이 우수한 발전방식으로 널리 적용되고 있는 추세이다. 국내에서도 동해화력 1,2호기(200MWe급)가 유동층 연소방식을 도입하여 운전중에 있으며, 국내 무연탄을 연료로 사용하는 최대 규모의 순환 유동층 보일러라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 IEA-CFBC 모델을 이용하여 개발된 동해화력 순환유동층 성능모사 시뮬레이션 틀을 이용하여 여러 가지 운전변수 변화에 따른 성능예측을 수행하였으며, 특히, 연소로의 성능향상을 위한 방안의 일환으로 사이클론 개조를 수행하고 그에 따른 성능모사를 고찰하였다. 본 성능평가 결과 연소로내 전체 차압을 증가시키는 운전을 지향하는 것이 연소로내 희박상의 온도분포를 낮추고, 탈황효율을 증가시켜 운전 안정화에 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 본 시뮬레이션 틀을 이용한 운전변수 변화에 대한 성능예측 결과 동해화력 운전 실측치와 잘 일치하는 것으로 고찰되었다.

A study of decomposition of sulfur oxides using Calcium hydroxide catalyst by plasma reactions (Ca(OH)2촉매를 이용한 플라즈마 반응에 의한 황산화물의 제거에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the air pollutant removal such as sulfur oxides was studied. A combination of the plasma discharge in the reactor by the reaction surface discharge reactor Calcium hydroxides catalytic reactor and air pollutants, hazardous gas SOx, changes in gas concentration, change in frequency, the thickness of the electrode, kinds of electrodes and the addition of simulated composite catalyst composed of a variety of gases, including decomposition experiments were performed by varying the process parameters. The experimental results showed the removal efficiency of 98% in the decomposition of sulfur oxides removal experiment when Calcium hydroxides catalysts and the tungsten(W) electrodes were used. It was increased 3% more than if you do not have the catalytic. If added to methane gas was added the removal efficiency increased decomposition.
