International Maritime Organization (IMO) recommends the installation of an Automatic Identification System (AIS) according to requirements by SOLAS to avoid maritime collision. AIS provides traffic information of other ships that may be used for maritime traffic control, SAR (Search and Rescue) and collision avoidance to apply safety management. In this paper, preliminary results to implement an aeronautical surveillance transceiver using AIS transceiver based on ADS-B concepts are described. Although altitude information is not required for AIS since the AIS is operated at MSL (Mean Sea Level), altitude information can be extracted by a GPS (Global Positioning System) chip-set in the AIS transceiver. ADS-B transceiver is implemented by defining a surveillance message format including the altitude information and modifying SOTDMA (Self-Organizing Time Division Multiple Access) protocol. Ground tests and flight tests are performed to validate the implementation results.
This study is to develop cultural products based on 'Jeju Choga', which means the traditional houses in Jeju. For the product development, old literature review, field surveys, and consumer surveys were employed. Through old literatures and field surveys, the unique and visual characteristics of Jeju Choga were confirmed: A thatched roof with lattice pattern, a side wall and fences with porous stones, a 'Jungnang' serving as a gate, and a 'Pungchai' preventing strong sola radiation and 'Ollai' meaning a narrow street in front of the Choga. As a results of consumer survey conducted before the development of products, consumers highly recognized and associated Jeju Choga as Jeju representative image. The six basic patterns of Jeju Choga were drawn and eight textile designs were created through the repeated arrangements of the basic patterns. Using the created textile designs and digital printing method, the eleven new fabrics with the patterns of Jeju Choga were developed. The various kinds of ten bags and tow wallets made with the new fabrics. As a result of consumer evaluation for the twelve products made in this study, the scores of preference and purchase intention were above the average work for the most products of them. In particular, the preference and purchase intention of the square shoulder bag, the big-size shopper bag, and the small-size cross bag were very positively evaluated. Therefore, it is confirmed that Jeju Choga could be very useful as a motif for the development of cultural products focusing on Jeju tourism souvenir market.
Hourly horizontal global solar radiation has been used as one of significant parameters in a weather file for building energy simulations, which determines the quality of building thermal performance. However, as about twenty two weather stations in Korea have actually measured the horizontal global sola radiation, the weather files collected in other stations requires solar data simulation from the other meteorological parameters. Thus, finding the reliable complicated method that can be used in various weather conditions in Korea is critically important. In this paper, three solar simulation models were selected and evaluated through the reliability test with the simulated hourly horizontal global solar radiation against the actually measured solar data to find the most suitable model for the south east area of Korea. Three selected simulation models were CRM, ZHM, and MRM. The first two models are regression type models using site-fitted coefficients which are derived from the correlation between measured solar data and local meteorological parameters from the previous years, and the last model is a mechanistic type model using the meteorological data to calculate conditions of atmospheric constituents that cause absorption and scattering of the extraterrestrial radiation on the way to the surface on the Earth. The evaluation results show that ZHM is the most reliable model in this area, yet a complicated hybrid simulation methods applying the advantages of each simulation method with the monthly-based weather data is needed.
In this study, we examined the simulated electrical characteristics of single-gated feedback field effect transistors (FBFETs) and the influence of channel length variation of the memory window characteristics through the 3D device simulation. The simulations were carried out for various channel lengths from 50 nm to 100 nm. The FBFETs exhibited zero SS(< 1 mV/dec) and a current $I_{on}/I_{off}$ ratio${\sim}1.27{\times}10^{10}$. In addition, the memory windows were 0.31 V for 50 nm-channel-length devices while no memory windows were observed for 100 nm-channel-length devices.

In this study the influence of the random dopant fluctuation (RDF) depending on the halo and LDD implantations for the metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor is investigated through the 3D atomistic device simulation. For accuracy in calculation, the kinetic monte carlo method that models individual impurity atoms and defects in the device was applied to the atomistic simulation. It is found that halo implantation has the greater influence on RDF effects than LDD implantation; three-standard deviation of $V_{TH}$ and $I_{ON}$ induced by halo implantation is about 6.45 times and 2.46 times those of LDD implantation. The distributions of $V_{TH}$ and $I_{ON}$ are also displayed in the histograms with normal distribution curves.

Correlation Power Analysis (CPA) is a type of Side-Channel Analysis (SCA) that extracts the secret key using the correlation coefficient both side-channel information leakage by cryptography device and intermediate value of algorithms. Attack performance of the CPA is affected by noise and temporal synchronization of power consumption leaked. In the recent years, various researches about the signal processing have been presented to improve the performance of power analysis. Among these signal processing techniques, compression techniques of the signal based on Principal Component Analysis (PCA) has been presented. Selection of the principal components is an important issue in signal compression based on PCA. Because selection of the principal component will affect the performance of the analysis. In this paper, we present a method of selecting the principal component by using the correlation of the principal components and the power consumption is high and a CPA technique based on the principal component that utilizes the feature that the principal component has different. Also, we prove the performance of our method by carrying out the experiment.

Purpose : The aim of this study was to investigate the differences in sociodemographic characteristics, instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), and healthcare needs among disabled persons with and without language disorder. Methods : Using raw data from the National Survey of the Disabled Person (2017), this study compared 6,320 disabled persons without language disorder and 229 disabled person with language disorder among 6,549 persons with disabilities. The dependent variables included sociodemographic characteristics, IADL, and healthcare needs. Results : People with language disorder were younger (p<.001), illiterate (p<.001), and had higher family income (p=.003) than people without language disorder. In addition, people with language disorder had a higher disability grade than people without language disorder (p<.001), and the percentages of brain injury, hearing impairment, and intellectual disability were higher among type of disability (p<.001). People with language disorder showed significantly higher dependence on all items of IADL than people without language disorder (p<.001). As the first-ranked healthcare need, people without language disorder had the highest percentage of "chronic illness management," and people with language disorder had the highest percentage of "disability management" (p<.001). Conclusion : The findings of the current investigation suggest that health care services are needed to improve IADL in people with language disorder and that the development of a disability management program for people with language disorder is required.

An All-in-one LED lantern is a light device to determine the fairway of ships in operation. The current all-in-one LED lantern powered by solar energy is challenged by insufficient power capacity due to limited sun hours. This article presents an all-in-one 9-Nautical mile LED lantern driven by solar and wind power that is abundant maritime renewable energy. Furthermore, the remote smart monitoring system is developed. A smart control system capable of remote control of the lantern was implemented by using the LED lantern device and monitoring system as IoT. This technology that realtime condition monitoring and remote control are developed for safe ship navigation. We expect that maintaining the accuracy and consistency of LED lanterns prevents marine accidents and reduces social costs.

Purpose: The increasing use of electric personal mobility devices (ePMDs) has been accompanied by an increasing incidence of associated accidents. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of ePMD-related injuries and their associated factors. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted using data from the Emergency Department-based Injury In-depth Surveillance database from 2014 to 2018. All patients who were injured while operating an ePMD were eligible. The primary outcome was the rate of severe injury, defined as an excess mortality ratio-adjusted Injury Severity Score of ≥25. We calculated the adjusted odds ratios (AORs) of outcomes associated with ePMD-related injuries. Results: Of 1,391,980 injured patients, 684 (0.05%) were eligible for inclusion in this study. Their median age was 28 years old, and most injuries were sustained by men (68.0%). The rate of ePMD-related injuries increased from 3.1 injuries per 100,000 population in 2014 to 100.3 per 100,000 population in 2018. A majority of the injuries occurred on the street (32.7%). The most commonly injured area was the head and face (49.6%), and the most common diagnosis was superficial injuries or contusions (32.9%). Being aged 55 years or older (AOR, 3.88; 95% confidence interval, 1.33-11.36) and operating an ePMD while intoxicated (AOR, 2.78; 95% confidence interval, 1.52-5.08) were associated with severe injuries. Conclusions: The number of emergency room visits due to ePMD-related injuries is increasing. Old age and drunk driving are both associated with serious injuries. Active traffic enforcement and safety regulations regarding ePMDs should be implemented to prevent severe injuries caused by ePMD-related accidents.
