Implementation of a Remote Bio-Equipment System for Smart Healthy Housing Properties

  • It is essential to investigate the structure and the main characteristics of BSN (Bio-Sensor Network) platform in built smart healthcare environment while designing healthy housing facilities. For this study, WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) data transmission technologies have been employed with medical sensors, and optimal medical devices would provide various Web 2.0 services by connecting to the WiBro network. The BSN platform normally recognizes in surroundings of WBAN (Wireless Body Area Network) or WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network), and it is possible to manage sensor nodes by utilizing SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) and REST (REpresentational State Transfer). In addition, the feature of SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) for mobile gateway is also included for being adapted to huge network structure. Finally, BSN platform will play a role as important clues for developing personal WSN service models for smart healthy housing properties.

  • his paper describes the framework of integrating the business processes of different organizations through the interoperability of workflow management systems. In particular, this framework can be applied to developing B2B systems, in which each trade partner has its own heterogeneous workflow system on the Internet. We propose an approach to implementing an interoperable workflow system which can be integrated with other heterogeneous workflow systems through the four scenarios suggested by WfMC(Workflow Management Coalition), and we developed XML message-based prototype systems, which using SOAP(Simple Object Access Protocol), is applicable to standard e-business framework such as ebXML.

  • Recently, RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) has emerged as the main technology in the logistic services. When the existing recognition technology based on bar codes brings about lots of problem due its own limits. RFID becomes the center of attention to solve them. However, RFID is not without any obstacles : companies have their own operating systems. while RFID is developed regardless of each campany's special features. RFID middleware system based on web service is expected to remove these obstacles. This paper shows how to operate the middleware based on web service and to lay in the DB the tag informations taken from reader system Middle assures that companies adopting RFID system for their logistic service are given athptabwebty to any systems whatsoever, avaweable by way of defining logistic information, tag information and reader information. For this purse, we implement as the basic web service a middleware system that turns all data into XML(eXtensatle Markupmsngunfo) of SOAP(Simple Object Access Protocol), the standard data.

  • XML is suitable to integrate various forms of engineering design data since it possesses the characteristics of both documents and data. In this research a web-based design system has been developed, which integrates various gear design data in the form of XML. The system generates XML document containing gear design data and transforms gear design data in the relational database into XML document form automatically. The XML documents are transmitted to gear modeler agent through SOAP, and then the agent is automatically executed and generates CAD model files and VRML files. The designer can check the generated VRML model of gear immediately in the web service.

  • With the recent development of the ubiquitous computing technology, there are increasing interest and research in technologies such as sensors and RFID related to information recognition and location positioning in various ubiquitous fields. Especially, a standard specification was required for compatibility and interoperability in various RTLS(Real-Time Locating Systems) according to the development of RTLS to provide location and status information of moving objects using the RFID Tag. For these reasons, the ISO/IEC published the RTLS standard specification for compatibility and interoperability in RTLS. Therefore, in this paper, we designed and im plemented RTLS based on the spatial DSMS(Data Stream Management Stream) for efficiently managing and searching the incoming data stream of moving objects. The spatial DSMS is an extended system of STREAM(STanford stREam datA Manager) developed by Standford University to make various spatial operations possible. RTLS based on the spatial DSMS uses the SOAP(Simple Object Access Protocol) message between client and server for interoperability and translates client's SOAP message into CQL(Continuous Query Language) of the spatial DSMS. Finally, we proved the efficiency of RTLS based on the spatial DSMS by applying it for the staff location management service.

  • In this paper, we introduce the design and implementation of Information exchange technique among power system facilities and/or their monitoring systems based on Universal Description, Discovery and Integration Service and Simple Object Access Protocol. The rapid progresses in high speed network, 4G web language S/W and embedded H/W enabled faster and easier communications among electric power systems monitoring facilities. However, each facility or system has its own specific protocol like RS-232 and RS-486, which somewhat limits the capability of flexible information exchange among thor In this paper, we try to demonstrate the potential of utilizing the SOAP and UDDI services in exchanging the metadata and possibly high abstraction level informations among electric power facilities and/or their monitoring systems.

  • As computer-related technologies have been developed, legacy design systems have not been appropriate for new computing environment. Therefore, it is necessary that most of them are either modified or newly developed. However, this requires quite much amount of cost and time. This paper presents a method of extending legacy design system without modification using XML and XSLT. In order to apply the developed method, a good example of legacy design systems, AGMA gear rating system has been extended so as to be suitable for the distributed computing environment. An XML document for AGMA gear rating process is defined. It is transformed to the form of the input document of AGMA gear rating system by XSLT processor according to the transformation rules defined in the AGMA gear rating XSLT document. After that, AGMA gear rating system reads this input document and generates an output document in the server. These operations are automatically executed by the external legacy system controller without user interactions. Using these operations, AGMA gear rating web service has been developed based on SOAP and WSDL to provide the functions of legacy AGMA gear rating system through the distributed network. Any system or user can implement AGMA gear rating process independently to the platform type, without making it for oneself, by simply referring the AGMA gear rating web service via Internet.

Especially, RTLS (Real-Time Locating Services) dealing with spatio-temporal data is emerging as a promising technology. For these reasons, the ISO/IEC published RTLS standard specification for compatibility and interoperability in RTLS. Therefore, in this paper, we designed and implemented Spatio-temporal Query Processing Systems for efficiently managing and searching the incoming Spatio-temporal data stream of moving objects. Spatio-temporal Query Processing Systems's spatio-temporal middleware maintains interoperability among heterogeneous devices and guarantees data integrity in query processing through real time processing of unceasing spatio-temporal data streams and two way synchronization of spatio-temporal DBMSs. Web Server uses the SOAP(Simple Object Access Protocol) message between client and server for interoperability and translates client's SOAP message into CQL(Continuous Query Language) of the spatio-temporal middleware.

  • A web-based Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) supporting system is connected with a Product Data Management (PDM) system for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) suffering from the lack of building hardware, software and related experts. An analysis of current business models and worksite requirements provides an improved process model and data to be shared between the PDM system and the CAE supporting system. Since all engineering tasks such as geometric modeling, mesh generation, static stress and modal analysis, and fatigue durability analysis are automated in the CAE supporting system, the user in charge of the CAE have only to configure the concerned values of design variables and result data through the web page. The existing Change Management module of the PDM system is modified for seamless data exchange, i.e. sending the Engineering Change Order (ECO) data to the CAE supporting system and receiving the CAE result data bark. The hi-directional data transfers between the PDM system and the CAE supporting system is made possible by adaptors bused on the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). The current approach will be very helpful for SMEs that only have the PDM system and have no adequate infrastructure for CAE.

  • 분산 시스템의 다양한 언어와 이기종의 플랫폼을 하나의 서비스로 묶어 비즈니스의 요구를 적절 충족시키기 위하여 XML 웹서비스가 제안되었다. 그러나 비즈니스의 요구는 만족시킬 수 있지만 개발자의 입장에서는 SOAP(Simple Object Access Protocol), XML 웹서비스 기술, XML 등 알아야 할 기술들은 점차 증가하고 개발자의 업무는 점점 증가하고 있다. 이런 현실에서 개발자는 다양한 기술을 익히지 않아도 XML 웹서비스를 구축할 수 있고 한번 개발된 소스코드는 EJB같은 다른 분산시스템에도 적용시킬 수 있는 프레임워크를 제안한다. 이는 개발자에게 개발 코드 수를 줄이고 다른 시스템으로의 전환에 최소의 비용으로 할 수 있으므로 경제적, 또는 개발 자원을 최소화할 수 있는 프레임워크이다.
