Differential Cryptanalysis of a 20-Round Reduced SMS4 Block Cipher (축소된 20-라운드 SMS4에 대한 차분 공격)

  • The 128-bit block cipher SMS4 which is used in WAPI, the Chinese WALN national standard, uses a 128-bit user key with the number of 32 rounds. In this paper, we present a differential attack on the 20-round SMS4 using 16-round differential characteristic. This attack requires $2^{126}$ chosen plaintexts with $2^{105.85}$ 20-round SMS4 decryptions. This result is better than any previously known cryptanalytic results on SMS4 in terms of the numbers of attacked rounds.

  • A SMS Moodle plug-in block was developed for the Pai-Chai Moodle virtual learning environment. Professors can send SMS messages directly from their courses by using the SMS block. NuSOAP open source web service library was utilized for XML SOAP based message transfer.

  • In this paper, we propose a method for transmitting SMS(Short Message Service) for VoIP(Voice over IP) service supporting multi-protocol. The multi-protocol VoIP under consideration are generally composed of H.323, SIP and MGCP and Most ITSPs(Internet Telephony Service Provider) provide VoIP service with H.323 and SIP now. SMS is killer application in mobile telecom service and many people of various field use that service. For example, user can send many SMS messages and substitute e-mail. Also SMS can be provided with various internet application. Ahn, legacy phone of KT, can use SMS. Therefore VoIP phone also can be required with the same requirement. With the multi-protocol VoIP we will propose several methods sending efficiently SMS. To show the validity of the proposed method some examples are given in which the results can be expected by intuitive observation.

Analysis of Flow Characteristic and Suspended Soild Transport at Nakdong River using RAMS and SMS Models (RAMS 및 SMS 모형을 이용한 낙동강 본류 구간의 흐름분석 및 부유사 거동 모의)

  • 본 연구에서는 남구미대교, 왜관낙동강대교가 통과하는 낙동강 본류의 구미, 칠곡구간 9.23km에 대하여 설계홍수량과 평수량에 대한 흐름분석과 공사시 발생가능한 부유사 농도를 산정하여 부유사의 거동에 대해 2차원 유한요소모형인 RAMS와 SMS 모형을 이용하여 모의하였다. 흐름모의를 실시한 결과, RAMS 및 SMS 모형에 의해 산정된 수위 및 유속 결과가 기본계획보고서에서 제시된 수위 및 유속과 유사하게 산정되고 있었으며, 교량 주변의 흐름분포도 RAMS 및 SMS모형의 결과가 유사하게 모의 되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 공사강도에 따른 발생가능한 부유사 농도를 산정하고 공사가 이루어질 위치 2지점을 가정하여 각각 RAMS 및 SMS모형을 이용하여 부유사 거동을 모의하였다. RAMS 및 SMS 모형에 의한 모의결과, 두 모형 모두 각 지점 하류 100m 부근의 부유사농도가 30~40, 15~20ppm의 범위로 부유사 농도를 보이고 있었다.

A Study on Message Inter-working Framework for sending SMS to RCS-e (SMS 메시지를 RCS-e 메시지로 변환하기 위한 프레임워크에 관한 연구)

  • Mobile phone users have been using the SMS to send and receive text messages between them. Recently, GSMA(GSM Association) proposed the next generation instant messaging service, RCS-e(Rich Communication Service-enhanced). This was unavoidable because new OTT(Over The Top) services have emerged that threat the SMS after smart phones became popular. However, the RCS-e has limitations that it cannot inter-operate with the SMS which is still widely used. This paper propose a software framework that inter-work SMS with RCS-e. Call flows for canceling wireless contracts and sending SMS messages to RCS-e users were defined. Also, methods for protocol conversion were defined to inter-work two services. The performance evaluation showed that the proposed framework does not increase loads on IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) infrastructure.

  • 스미싱은 SMS 문자를 통해 피해자를 현혹시켜 개인정보나 금전 등을 갈취하는 범죄이다. 발전하는 스미싱 범죄 수법에 대응하기 위해선 새로운 스미싱 범죄 사례에서 데이터를 추출하고, 추출한 데이터를 기존 시스템에 통합하여 빠르게 대응할 수 있어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 빠른 스미싱 대응을 위해 전처리를 하지 않은 SMS 문자 텍스트에서 지식베이스를 자동으로 추출하고 저장하는 자동 지식베이스 추출 모듈을 제안하며, 추출 시스템 지식베이스를 바탕으로 입력된 SMS가 스미싱인지 판별하는 스미싱 SMS 탐지 모듈을 통합한 자동 지식베이스 추출 기반 스미싱 SMS 탐지 시스템을 제시한다. 제시된 스미싱 SMS 탐지 모델은 UCI SMS Spam Collection Dataset을 기준으로 90.9 (F1 score)의 성능을 보여주었다.

Smartphone Ownership and Location Checking Scheme for Fixing the Vulnerabilities of SMS-Based Authentication (SMS 기반 인증의 보안 취약점을 개선한 스마트폰 소유 및 위치 확인 기법)

  • Many Web sites adopt SMS(Short Message Service)-based user authentication when a user loses her password or approves an online payment. In SMS-based authentication, the authentication server sends a text in plaintext to a user's phone, and it allows an attacker who eavesdrops or intercepts the text to impersonate a valid user(victim). We propose a challenge-response scheme to prove to the authentication server that a user is in a certain place at the moment with her smartphone beside her. The proposed scheme generates a response using a challenge by the server, user's current location, and a secret on the user's smartphone all together. Consequently, the scheme is much more secure than SMS-based authentication that simply asks a user to send the same text arrived on her phone back to the server. In addition to entering the response, which substitutes the SMS text, the scheme also requests a user to input a passphrase to get the authentication process started. We believe, however, the additional typing should be tolerable to most users considering the enhanced security level of the scheme.

An SMS Notarization System Using Smartphones (스마트폰을 활용한 SMS 공증 시스템)

  • Although it's been nearly decade since the electronic notarization system enforced, the utilization is not high because of the troublesomeness of the client or his agent to visit the notarial office directly. Recently, the ministry of justice introduced e-notary based on audio-visual conference through amendament of the notarial law, and hence it will vitalize the usage of e-notary. In addition, due to the spread of smartphones, many people use SMS messages to express simple statements or promises. However, in case of legal disputes, the judgment of the court is different according to the case. The electronic notarization system can be used to prove of evidence of SMS messages, however, there is a hassle to convert SMS messages to electronic documents. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an SMS notarization system using smartphones. The proposed system uses reliable notarization server and it is divided into notarization system for message senders and notarization system for message receivers according to notary requestor.

  • This paper has tried to research the perception of pilots in a commercial airliners or full service carriers focusing on the airliner's safety management system (SMS). ICAO requires the airliners to set up the basic standards of SMS since the SMS is believed to be the core of the aviation risk management. According to the previous study, it was proved safety climate of an airline affects the safety behavior of cockpit crews. Safety climate is different from safety culture and the safety climate has an advantage to be measured more quantitatively than the culture. That is, the safety climate could be represented as SMS. As the results of the empirical study based on Chen & Chen(2014)'s SMS practice sacle, it had been assumed at the beginning the major factors such as Clarification of SMS, Safety Training for Crews and Sharing of SMS Information have positive effects on the motivation for safety behaviors. The motivation is directly correlated to crews' safety behaviors. However, the result showed the clarification of SMS has not a significant effect on their safety behaviors. The main reason is cockpit crews, through the survey, perceived airline seemed to have no definite standards of SMS and the senior management to have less interest in aviation safety.

Methodology of SMS Manual Enactment for Approved Training Organization(ATO) focusing on C Flight Training Center (항공종사자 전문교육기관의 SMS 매뉴얼 제정을 위한 방법론 - C 비행훈련원의 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • This thesis is to provide procedures for documenting implementation performance and methodology of practical SMS enactment for Approved Training Organization(ATO). As an example, C flight training center, according MOLIT "Guidance on SMS Implementation", derived 32 implementation documents after writing the SMS manual to implement it. The 32 implementation documents are divided into 5 fields. In detail, they are (1) 2 documents on SMS Manual, (2) 7 documents on Safety policy and objectives (3) 3 documents on Safety risk management (4) 15 documents on Safety assurance (5) 5 documents on Safety promotion. By describing the documented performances according to these 32 implementation documents that was in use for 1 year in 2017, it is suggested that this procedure can be a methodology for practically enactment and implementing the SMS manual.
