  • In this paper, we analyze the adjacent interference between WCDMA and M-WiMAX systems in the 2.6GHz Band under the SISO (Single Input Single Output) configuration. The interference scenarios are characterized into 8 scenarios with different victim and interfering links. Among the 8 scenarios, we find that the most performance loss is observed in the scenarios of victim uplink suffering interference from downlink in both systems. Besides, guard band is applied to mitigate the adjacent interference in all the scenarios. Especially, we reveal that M-WiMAX system is much more sensitive to adjacent interference than WCDMA system due to the lower transmission power. In this paper, we consider the worst interference environment, where interferers always transmit with the maximum power, a loose spectrum mask is adapted, and no additional channel fitters are equipped in both systems.

  • This paper presents the spatial multiplexing MIMO system to increase data rate to double in MB-OFDM UWB system, which is ECMA standards, and compares BER performance of various receiver structures. The complexity and BER performance of various types of spatial multiplexing receivers are compared and analyzed using diagonal and horizontal encoding techniques for $2{\times}2$\;and\;2{\times}3$ antennas systems. Computer simulations exhibit that $2{\times}2$ MML and $2{\times}3$ ZF method show better BER performance than that of SISO system with simple complexity.

  • In this paper, an adaptive control law for nonlinear systems represented by input-output models are proposed under the assumption that unknown system parameters are in a known compact and convex set. Contrary to the previous results, the compact and convex set is not restricted to a ball whose center is at the origin or convex hypercube. It is proven that the proposed parameter update rule produces a sequence of parameters which reside in the set and guarantees that the position, velocity, and acceleration error converges to zero as time goes to infinity. This theoretical result was justified through simulations.

  • Using simple linear prediction algorithm a design procedure of robust PI and PID controllers for SISO system, usually called 'PID predictor controllers, is developed. The design procedure is able to properly adjust gain margin and phase margin and control coefficients are selected in frequency domain. The performance of the PID predictor controller is superior to that of the normal PID controller in terms of robustness in design and disturbance rejection.

  • A stability analysis technique has been proposed for linear SISO system associated with fuzzy logic controller. An analysis technique using the concept of well-known sector bound nonlinearity and its graphical interpretation, i.e., the circle criterion, is presented. Thus the use of classical Nyquist locus and the BODE diagram is brought into the picture. The aim of this present note is to represent a graphical approach based on sector bound nonlinearity and circle criterion for assessing the performance(degree of stability) of the linear SISO system associated with fuzzy logic controller. The degree of stability of the system is defined in terms of its gain and phase margins as defined in Section 3.

  • Acoustic communication system is a transmission technology sending sound and data simultaneously. However, data signal can be audible in this system when data is transmitted with high transmission power. The more transmission power is reduced, the more distance that can transmit data is shortened. Therefore, the study that increase the transmission distance is needed. In this paper, we would like to increase transmission distance by adapting receive diversity in acoustic communication system. We measure received performance of both proposed system and Single Input Sing Output (SISO) system according to distance with same transmission power. When SISO satisfies Bit Error Rate (BER) of $7{\times}10^{-3}$ at about 2m, Selection Combining (SC) technique satisfies 2 meters, and Equal Gain Combining (EGC) technique satisfies 4 meters.

  • In Japan, high-speed ground transportation service using linear motors at speeds of 500 km/h is scheduled to begin in 2027. To accommodate 5G services in trains, a subcarrier spacing frequency of 30 kHz will be used instead of the typical 15 kHz subcarrier spacing to mitigate Doppler effects in such high-speed transport. Furthermore, to increase the cell size of the 5G mobile system, multiple base station antennas will transmit identical downlink (DL) signals to form an expanded cell size along the train rails. In this situation, the forward and backward antenna signals are Doppler-shifted in opposite directions, respectively, so the receiver in the train may suffer from estimating the exact Channel Transfer Function (CTF) for demodulation. In a previously published paper, we proposed a channel estimator based on Delay and Doppler Profiler (DDP) in a 5G SISO (Single Input Single Output) environment and successfully implemented it in a signal processing simulation system. In this paper, we extend it to 2×2 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) with spatial multiplexing environment and confirm that the delay and DDP based channel estimator is also effective in 2×2 MIMO environment. Its simulation performance is compared with that of a conventional time-domain linear interpolation estimator. The simulation results show that in a 2×2 MIMO environment, the conventional channel estimator can barely achieve QPSK modulation at speeds below 100 km/h and has poor CNR performance versus SISO. The performance degradation of CNR against DDP SISO is only 6dB to 7dB. And even under severe channel conditions such as 500km/h and 8-path inverse Doppler shift environment, the error rate can be reduced by combining the error with LDPC to reduce the error rate and improve the performance in 2×2 MIMO. QPSK modulation scheme in 2×2 MIMO can be used under severe channel conditions such as 500 km/h and 8-path inverse Doppler shift environment.

  • The Stewart Platform is one example of a motion simulator which generater 6DOF motion in space by six actuators in parallel. The presented control methrol of 6DOF motion simulator is generally classified into two types, one is SISO and the other is MIMO control type. The SISO control can't compensate for external load variation and different dynamic behavior of 6DOF motion, trerefore this type don's control motion precisely. On the other hand, the MIMO control compensates for a interference of 6DOF motion because MIMO controller is designed with 6DOF motion simulator synamics. But MIMO control of motion simulator has a complexity of 6DOF displacement feedback, because in oder to obtain feedback value we must solve the forward kinematics using measurement of cylinder length or design a state estimator, unless measurement of 6DOF displacement is possible. In this paper, a multivariable controller using H .inf. optimal control theory is designed to consider a interference of 6DOF motion and to obtain robust, precise control of system. Also in order to solve the mentioned problem of MIMO control, this paper presents a modified MIMO control model which control 6DOF motion by using feedback of measurement od cylinder length.

  • Differential detection schemes do not require any channel estimation, which can be employed under user mobility with low computational complexity. In this work, a soft-input soft-output (SISO) differential detection algorithm is proposed for amplify-and-forward (AF) over time-varying relaying channels based cooperative communications system. Furthermore, maximum-likelihood (ML) detector for M-ary differential Phase-shift keying (DPSK) is derived to calculate a posteriori probabilities (APP) of information bits. In addition, when the SISO is exploited in conjunction with channel decoding, iterative detection and decoding approach by exchanging extrinsic information with outer code is obtained. Finally, simulation results show that the proposed non-coherent approach improves detection performance significantly. In particular, the system can obtain greater performance gain under fast-fading channels.

  • A design technique based on the root locus approach for the SISO (Single-Input Single-Output) systems using PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) ${\times}$ (n-1) stage PD as a controller for the n$\^$th/ order plant is presented. The controller is designed based on transient and steady state response specifications. This controller can be used instead of a conventional PID controller. The overall system is approximated as a stable and robust second order system. The desired performances are achieved by increase the gain of the controller. In addition, the controller gain can be adjusted to obtain faster response with a little overshoot. The simulation results show the merits of this approach.
