A Study on Mobility Support for Wireless VoIP Terminal (Wireless VoIP 단말의 이동성 지원에 대한 연구)

  • 현재 가장 중요하고 대중적인 통신수단으로 인식되고 있는 인터넷은 VoIP 기술을 이용하여 전화통신을 지원할 수 있게 되었다 VoIP 기술의 두드러진 장점은 기존의 인터넷망에 대해 추가적인 수정없이 음성전화 서비스를 통합함으로써 회선비용을 크게 절감하고, 단말의 이동성을 지원한다는 것이다. 이러한 장점으로 인해 VoIP는 향후의 네트워터에서 핵심 요소로 그 중요성이 점차 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 VoIP 기술들 중 프로토콜 자체에 개인 이동성 지원이 명시되어 있고, 효과적인 이동호스트의 지원이 가능만 SIP을 기반으로 하여 단말이 이동중에 수신하는 beacon 신호의 감도와 빈도를 저장하여 예상 핸드오버 셀을 결정하는 SS buffer 메커니즘과 SIP server를 이용하여 계층적 이동성을 처리하는 hybrid mode를 갖춘 이동성지원 기법을 제안한다.

  • We explain the Presence Model defined in IETF IMPP WG. We also roughly explain the standards defined methods and behaviors among components for services according to presence model. We especially explain the XCAP technology which is defined authorization rules related subscription and notification of presence information and describe the design considerations of PA server for presence service.

  • Thesedays, there are many smart device applications developed, especially on the using various sensors included in the smart device. Smart devices have several sensors which are camera, GPS, mike, and communication module for collecting ubiquitous environment, and many applications are developed by using such sensors. In this paper, we developed the multimedia stream architecture and examined the smart device applications based on open source with front and back-end server clouds for developing the conceptual architecture. Also, we examined the back-end distributed servers, realtime multimedia stream transferring, multi-media store, and media relay for other server and smart devices. We test the examined architecture on the real target environment to collect the SIP initial setup time, media stream delay, and end-to-end play time. The test results show that there have good network operation environment to provide realtime multimedia services, and we need to improve the end-to-end play time by minimizing the initial setup time.

  • This paper proposes a L3 handover method to minimize packet loss for supporting service continuity to IMS Terminal which has a single WLAN interface. The existing IMS based handover solution is able to support handover between different access networks in case that a terminal has multiple interfaces. That is, WLAN terminals need multiple interfaces to connect with one or more access networks. This proposed method configures IP address for the terminal in target WLAN previously by using Candidate Access Router Discovery(CARD) mechanism. Also, in the proposed method, service continuity server performs L3 connection establishment in target WLAN and registration to IMS server instead of the terminal. And then session control mechanism based on SIP is performed to support service continuity. We analyzed handover latency and signaling cost in the proposed method and existing method to show the improved performance by the proposed method.

  • Internet banking, electronic financial services and internet telephony service can be available on smart phone recently. In this case, more robust authentication mechanisms should be provided for enhancing security on it. In this study, a facial biometric ID based one-time password generation mechanism is designed and implemented for enhancing user authentication on smart phone. After capturing a facial biometric data using camera module on smart phone, it is sent to server to generate one-time biometric ID. Finally one-time password will be generated by client module after receiving the one time biometric ID based challenge token from the server. Using proposed biometric ID based one-time password mechanism, it is possible for us to provide more secure user authentication service on smart phone for SIP protocol.

  • In this paper, a distributed instant message system with multiple servers architecture which can distribute system load effectively using an extended media control channel has been presented. A media control channel provides establishing a reliable control channel and also keeping a reliable control channel between SIP server and client in the field of real-time media transport area. In this study, a new instant message system architecture which can distribute massive instant message including multimedia data to multiple servers has been presented. The presented instant message system architecture can distribute system load by extending media control channel. For this purpose, media control channel messages, which distribute system load to multiple servers dynamically according to increasing number of users, have been designed in our presented system. And, in our research, an exchanging procedures of media control channel messages between servers have also been presented. The performance of the proposed system has been analysed by simulation.

A Large-Scale Conference Service by Distributed Focus Control Method (분산 포커스 제어 방식에 의한 대규모 컨퍼런스 서비스)

  • The focus maintains and manages conference session in the conference service. Load of focus increases by the number of participants and it becomes the major reason that limits the extendability of the large-scale conference service. In this paper, a new distributed focus control method has been proposed to solve this problem. Load of focus has been distributed to several conference nodes to implement large-scale conference service in this architecture. Conference nodes which have focus function subscribe to conference server's conference information database, and focus hae been allocated dynamically to process participants needs according to total numbers of the conference participants. For this purpose a new conference control event package for focus load control has been suggested. Furthermore the exchange procedure of SIP messages between focuses and participants also been suggested. The performance of the proposed system has been evaluated by simulation.

An Internet Telephony Recording System using Open Source Softwares (오픈 소스 소프트웨어를 활용한 인터넷 전화 녹취 시스템)

  • Internet telephony is an Internet service which supports voice telephone using VoIP technology on the IP-based Internet. It has some advantages in that voice telephone services can be accompanied with multimedia services such as video communication and messaging services. Recently, the introduction of smart phones has led to a growth in social networking services and thus, the research and development of Internet telephony has been actively progressed and has the potential to become a replacement for the telephone service that is currently being used. In this paper we designed and implemented a recording system which records voice data of SIP-based Internet telephone's voice calls. It is developed on the linux system and has some features such as audio mixing of two in/out voice channels, live packet sniffing, and the ability to transfer mixed audio files to the log file server. These functions are implemented using various open source softwares. Afterwards, this VoIP recording system will be applied as a base technology to advanced services like a VoIP-based call center system.

  • Currently, with the success of 5G commercialization, a server system that integrates various Internet public safety services should be developed. In this paper, we developed a public safety integrated server, which is an IoT platform connecting IoT device and IoT gateway based on IP PBX. This server is based on embedded OS and various IoT services are executed in one system and call processing / broadcasting server function that processes emergency call and emergency broadcasting in public places is built in. This system collects IoT sensor data and emergency bell information and automatically sends out emergency alarms, emergency evacuation broadcasts, etc. at an accident site in an emergency situation, and transmits the daily information to the upper IoT service server, Provide public safety management services.

A New Architecture of Instant Message Service with Multiple Servers (다중서버 방식의 새로운 인스턴트메시지 서비스 구조)

  • In Instant message service, the server should process instant messages and request messages which include many presence resources for users. And it also precesses massive notification messages generating from the subscribed presence resources. In this paper a new architecture of instant message service with multiple servers which can distribute loads efficiently as the number of users increases has been suggested. It also provides various functions to users using extended call processing language. The user subscribes presence information and call processing language script which describes user's functions. The server processes instant messages, presence services and call processing language scripts. New extended presence information data structure has been suggested and new call processing language operation tags have been added. Therefore extendability of the system can be increased and various services which combine presence service and call processing can be provided in this system. Furthermore instant message processing module has been integrated in the server to decrease the amount of SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) messages, and it also improves system efficiency, The performance of our proposed system has been analysed by experiments.
