  • The robustness of communication service should be guaranteed to validate its security of the whole service not just high performance. One kind of practical test-beds is the chinese communication service based on SIM Card and GSM. In paper, we try to experiment the possibility of SIM cards clone in various mobile communications using 2G in china, and hence discovered the security vulnerabilities such as the incoming outgoing, SMS service and additional services on the mobile phones using clone SIM cards. The experiments show that chinese communication service should be prepared the Fraud Management System against the cloning SIM card. and furthermore, regulations related to the communication service should be tuned the realistic security environments.

  • As Open Source Software(OSS) recently invigorates, many companies actively use the OSSes in their business software. With such OSS invigoration, our web application is developed in order to provide the safety in using the OSSes, and update the information on the new vulnerabilities and the patches at all times by crawling the web pages of the relevant OSS home pages and the managing organizations of the vulnerabilities. By providing the updated information, our application helps the OSS users and developers to be aware of such security issues, and gives them to work in the safer environment from security risks. In addition, our application can be used as a security platform to greatly contribute to preventing potential security incidents not only for companies but also for individual developers.

  • In this paper, we propose and implement SIA System for filtering redundant alert messages and dividing them into four statuses. Also, we confirm that our system can find and analyze vulnerability types of network intrusion by attackers in a managed network, so that it provides very effective means for security managers to cope with security threats in real time.

  • Recently personal information security breaches by unauthorised access, mistakenly disclosure or stolen become more frequent and the scale of the economic loss of such incidents is growing. Assessing economic loss of personal information security breaches is needed for decision making of information security investment This paper presents a framework to analyze economic impact of personal information security breaches and develops formula for each element to empirically calculate the economic loss. We also compared annual economic loss of Korea with that of Japan to develop some implications.

  • In 1998, Kocher et al. introduced Differential Power Attack on block ciphers. This attack allows to extract secret key used in cryptographic primitives even if these are executed inside tamper-resistant devices such as smart card. At FSE 2003 and 2004, Akkar and Goubin presented several masking methods, randomizing the first few and last few($3{\sim}4$) rounds of the cipher with independent random masks at each round and thereby disabling power attacks on subsequent inner rounds, to protect iterated block ciphers such as DES against Differential Power Attack. Since then, Handschuh and Preneel have shown how to attack Akkar's masking method using Differential Cryptanalysis. This paper presents how to combine Truncated Differential Cryptanalysis and Power Attack to extract the secret key from intermediate unmasked values and shows how much more efficient our attacks are implemented than the Handschuh-Preneel method in term of reducing the number of required plaintexts, even if some errors of Hamming weights occur when they are measured.

  • In this paper, we revisit a generally accepted opinion: implementing Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem (ECC) over GF$(2^m)$ on sensor motes using small word size is not appropriate because partial XOR multiplication over GF$(2^m)$ is not efficiently supported by current low-powered microprocessors. Although there are some implementations over GF$(2^m)$ on sensor motes, their performances are not satisfactory enough due to the redundant memory accesses that result in inefficient field multiplication and reduction. Therefore, we propose some techniques for reducing unnecessary memory access instructions. With the proposed strategies, the running time of field multiplication and reduction over GF$(2^{163})$ can be decreased by 21.1% and 24.7%, respectively. These savings noticeably decrease execution times spent in Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) operations (Signing and verification) by around $15{\sim}19%$.

  • This study addressed security requirements for ad-hoc network environments, which lies at the hour of the ubiquitous computing revolution and proposed a partially-distributed certificate management system that can ensure security in mobile ad-hoc networks. The proposed model is characterized by ie ability to handle dynamic mobility of nodes, minimize routing load and enhance expandability of network by allowing participating nodes to authenticate each other without being interrupted by joining the cluster. The security, efficiency and robustness of the proposed model were evaluated through simulation.

  • The DNS provides naming services which are the basis for the application of the Internet and the security of the DNS should be provided for the security of the Internet. Recently IETF proposed a method which guarantees the integrity of DNS database contents and DNS queries/replies and distributes host public keys. In this paper we describe the design and implementation of the secure DNS which is built based on the IETF proposal and extended to facilitate its sue and management. In the extended secure DNS, DNS servers are used ad the directory system in a public key infrastructure and stores/distributes user public key certificates. The Web-based management interface and security log functions are added and the extended secure DNS is being built so that new cryptographic algorithms can be easily added.

  • Today the use of RFID is extended in medical. circulation market, manufacture, security field, etc. Besides, the book-lending and the attendance management system are on an increasing trend in the use of RFID The developed dormitory management system is composed of a support program, a room management program, a manager program, and a mobile program etc.. In the support program a student(or a manager) can see his(or all member's) entrance and exit history. The room management program decides whether a student can enter the dormitory or not and manages the use of the power after or inquiring a RFID's input tag information into database server. The manager program is able to input and modify a room state and the fixtures information in the room required to operate the room management program, to set up and retrieve a student's entrance and exit information and a room state information. The mobile program enables a manager to check student's identity whether he is in or out, and the manager can know the personal information of being out in detail.
