We observed and treated a 19 year-old female who had atopic dermatitis. Even though she had been treated with western medicine, she still complained of severe itching, erythema, lichenification, scaling, dryness, oozing and insomnia especially on her face and neck. We treated her with Sasang Constitutional Therapies(Kupoong-san, Teumchoui-tang, Kalkunsungki-tang), apcupuncture, herbal irrigation and moisture emulsion. Having been treated for 24 days in hospital admitted, her symptoms were reduced and changed from severe to mild grade in SCORAD(SCORing Atopic Dermatitis)

We experienced a rare hepatic tuberculous granuloma with subphrenic abscess. The patient was 45-years old female. She complained the right flank pain and tenderness on the protruding mass for 2 weeks. It was fixed, erythematous and 5x5cm sized mass, which was thought as cold abscess. She has done the hysterectomy as endometriosis at November 1990. Under general endotracheal anesthesia, the mass was incised, but the pus was not found. The needle aspiration was done through the 8th ICS, then the yellowish non-foul odor pus was rushed out. The 7th and 8th ribs were resected segmentally about 5cm. The abscess cavity was placed in the subphrenic area, therefore the operative fields extended along the 8th ICS. After the evacuation of subphrenic abscess, the granulomatous tissues from the superior aspect of liver was seen. The granuloma was resected and the penrose drainage was inserted. The tuberculosis was resulted from the 8th ICS muscles. subphrenic abscess and granuloma on the pathology report.

Cavovarus deformities of both feet in 28 years old female patient with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease were treated by one-staged pantalar arthrodesis. Excellent results were achieved at 6 years after surgery. She could walk without brace or stick and she was satisfied with the result of one-staged pantalar arthrodesis. One-stage pantalar arthrodesis is an effective method of treatment for cavovarus deformity of foot in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.

The authors experience a rare case of the cervical radiculomyelopathy due to calcification of ligamentum flavum at the level of C4-6 and report it with review of the literature. A 60-year-old woman was admitted, complaining progressive quariparesis, gait disturbance and neck pain. She had been treated with diabetes mellitus and hypertension for several years. On radiologic study, calcification of ligamentum flavum[CLF] at the C4-6 level was demonstrated on cervical spine CT and MR scan. Decompressive laminectomy of the C 4-6 and removal of CLF were performed. During operation, thecal sac was severely compressed by hypertrophic ligamentum flavum and there were tight adhesion between calcified ligamentum flavum and dura. After the operation, her motor function and neck pain improved and she could walk with an assistant.

We report a case of fatal aortic tumor embolism presenting as acute paraplegia. A four-year-old girl was referred from a local hospital with sudden paraplegia and a poor medical condition. A neighbor had noticed her fall from a bike, and she could not walk. She had no previous illness. Emergency spine MRI revealed no remarkable findings. During the process of evaluation, her general condition deteriorated progressively. Chest and abdominal CT showed a large mass in the left lung field, and a diagnosis of aortic occlusion was made. An emergency transfemoral embolectomy was attempted. However, the patency of the aorta was not recovered. On pathological examination of tissues taken from the embolectomy, a pleuro-pulmonary blastoma was found. The patient died 22 hours after the onset of her symptoms. We describe a possible mechanism for the tumor embolism. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case report of aortic occlusion caused by an embolic malignancy, presenting as acute paraplegia.

Cerebral infarction without cerebravascular malformation in childhood is very uncommon. One case of cerebral infarction without cerebravascular malformation in childhood, with symptoms similar to those of an adult, was encountered. This female patient had no cerebravascular malformation and was just ten years-old. She was treated with herb medicine, acupunture treatment and physical treatment. After treatment she recovered from stroke symptoms but the primary cause of stroke was not revealed. Follow-up research is needed to determine the cause of stroke. Results suggest that oriental medical treatment had beneficial effects in treatment of cerebral infarction in this child.

This is a case report of total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage with Atrial septal defect, which was corrected surgically by intracardiac procedure under total cardiopulmonary bypass. This 9 years old girl, she complained mild cyanosis, exertional dyspnea, and frequent upper respiratory infection from 3 months age. The chest X-ray showed cardiomegaly and a "snow man appearance", she has systolic murmur with splitting of S2. The diagnosis was confirmed with right heart catheterization, the catheter was reached to right pulmonic vein passed through right atrium, right superior vena cava, innominate vein, left superior vena cava, and common venous trunk. On 28th, Dec. 1979, an anastomosis between common pulmonary venous trunk and left atrium, Pericardial patch closure of ASD, and ligation of left superior vena cava were performed with Extra-corporeal circulation. The postoperative course was uneventful and discharged with excellent general condition.Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Drainage with A.S.D. with A.S.D.

Stellate ganglion block (SGB) is one of the most widely used treatment modalities for a broad range of disorders, including otolaryngologic indications such as Meniere's disease and sudden hearing loss. We present a case of a vertiginous attack following SGB for the management of Meniere's disease. A 31-year-old female, suffering from Meniere's disease, underwent repeated right side SGBs with 6 ml of 1% mepivacaine after negative aspiration tests for blood. The eleventh block was performed in the usual manner. Several seconds after injection, she showed agitation, anxiety, nystagmus, and left-sided tinnitus. Two minutes later, her tinnitus and nystagmus were resolved. Fifteen minutes after injection, she experienced acute onset of severe vertigo, nausea, and vomiting. However, her symptoms were gradually alleviated within two hours.

A 25-year-old epileptic female patient scheduled for vaginal delivery, was referred to the pain clinic for the relief of labor pain. She had been taking anticonvulsant drugs, but suffered from seizure attacks three or four times a month. We had induced continuous lumbar epidural analgesia successfully and she subsequently gave birth to a healthy infant. So we report that continuous lumbar epidural analgesia should be considered as a safe method for reduction of labor pain and prevention of seizure attacks in epileptic pregnant women.
