The nutcracker syndorme refers to compression of the left renal vein between the aorta and the superior mesentric artery which results in renal vein, left gonadal vein varices, hematuria and left sided flank pain. We report this experience of 11yr-11mon of girl has typical Nutcracker syndrome with persistent proteinuria and without typical hematuria. According to the renal biopsy for persistent proteinuria, biopsy shows pathologic findings similar to minimal change nephrotic syndrome. All symtpoms relieved without any specific treatments but she had no response to steroid treatment for persistent proteinuria. Now she was followed up through OPD base without symptom and consideration of surgical intervention.

The semantic literature on definiteness and specificity shows that the former is relatively an established notion, whereas the latter is still a vague notion that needs to be more clarified and confirmed. Given this, Ionin (2006) argues for the reality of specificity based on the informal use of this. She proposes this in spoken English as a specificity marker which has a semantic feature indicating "peaker intent to refer" and "noteworthiness." She also provides as evidence the results of some crosslinguistics studies including an L2 acquisition study with both L1-Russian and L1-Korean L2-English learners. However, this paper will argue that the informal use of this does not seem to mark specificity according to Ionin's definition of specificity. It will also be argued that the L2 acquisition study cannot be used as evidence for the reality of specificity. Based on these arguments, this paper will try to redefine specificity, based on the notions of existence and uniqueness.

While furniture making in general has been traditionally regarded as labor-intensive industry, the making of metal furniture has immense potential in terms of its growth and as a value added industry. Granted that the technology and designing of metal furniture in Korea are still behind the standards enjoyed by the developed nations of the world, still its future here is promising when we consider the comparatively short history of its industry, Korea depends on imports from abroad for almost all the natural resources she needs for industry. Metal (especially iron) industry is, however, one field where she has some advantage over other nations. Korea is a major producer of iron and her technology in this field is competitive in the international market. When viewed from the points of environment and ecology metal furniture has good points, as metals are recyclable when they are discarded and collected properly according to their reusability. This adds to the merits its industry has here as this country, with her limited natural resources, has yet to solve the pressing problem of disposing ever-increasing waste matter from homes and factories.

Objectives : This study is to report a case of tinea pedis accompanied with erythema and pruritus, treated with Korean medicine treatment. Methods : A 26-year-old female patient has suffered from erythema and pruritus on her right 3rd toe. She applied desoximetasone ointment on it for a month, but the effect didn't last long and the symptoms got worse. After disappointing application of the corticosteroid, she received Korean medicine treatment including herbal medicine and herbal external medication for 1.5 months. Results : The skin symptoms such as erythema and pruritus were remarkably improved. Also, the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) of pruritus changed from 4 to 0. Conclusions : This case report suggests that Korean medicine may have a role in treating tinea pedis with some skin symptoms such as erythema and pruritus.

The patient was a 45-year-female who presented with pain at right shoulder and right upper arm. The patient suffered from right shoulder and arm pain for 3 years and had pain management which was performed using medication and conservative management after she had been diagnosed with calcific tendinitis. However, substantial pain relief was not consistently achieved, and recurrence of pain was reported. Therefore, we performed right axillary nerve and suprascapular nerve block through pulsed radiofrequency. Two months after the procedure, the shoulder pain gradually subsided with the size reduction of the calcified nodule and she needed no more pain management.

Many monopropellant thrusters use a catalyst for decompose the propellant, hydrazine. The catalyst directly affects the thruster performances and lifetime. Therefore, it is important to confirm that the catalyst is suitable for our thrusters. Until 2002, we used She1l405 catalyst, for satellite RCS thrusters, and H-IIA and M-V launch vehicle upper-stage RCS thrusters. In 2002, however, Shell Chemical Inc. ceased manufacturing She1l405 catalyst and transferred the product to AEROJET, where it was renamed S405. We subsequently investigated the characteristics of AEROJET's S405 catalyst and SOLVAY's KC12GA catalyst, (SOLVAY is a Belgian chemical company, and KC12GA is used for ASTRIUM's thruster) and conducted thruster firing tests using the new catalysts. After conducting, we confirm that the KC12GA catalyst was suitable for our thrusters, and decided to use KC12GA for two satellite programs.

We experienced one case of the calcified giant thrombosis in the enlarged right atrium and coronary sinus with markedly dilated persistent left superior vena cava and absent right superior vena cava in 29year old female patient. We supposed that the dilatation of persistent left superior vena cava was due to poststenotic dilatation secondary to obstruction on orifice of coronary sinus by thrombosis. The giant thrombosis in the right atrium and coronary sinus was successfully resected. She had improvement on preoperative chest discomfort but, the moderate hepatomegaly was developed and then she was discharged with incompletely recovered state due to economical poverty on postoperative 6th weeks. The continuous follow-up and study are indeed necessary for further evaluation of pathology and etiology.

Pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB) is a rare intrathoracic neoplasm in children. Although surgery with or without chemotherapy mainly conducted, the response of radiotherapy (RT) has not been evaluated yet. For unresectable tumor, RT might be considered as one option to decrease tumor extent to relieve obstructing symptoms or to facilitate successive treatment. We report one child in whom PPB with DICER1 mutation recurred after surgery and lead to respiratory distress. She emergently received palliative RT with a relatively low dose (20 Gy), and symptoms sufficiently relieved. Even she showed an 84.3% reduction in diameter and maintained the remission status for 1 year. These might reflect possible radiosensitivity of PPB, and further investigations of RT might be necessary for unresectable PPB.

Objectives: The purpose of these cases is to report the effects of oriental medicine on two patients with premature ovarian failure. Methods: Two patients who had amenorrhea and hot flashes caused by premature ovarian failure were treated by oriental medicine such as herb medication. We estimated the effects of treatments by follow-up measurements of serum hormone level, menstrual cycle and symptoms. Besides, follicle and endometrium were checked by ultrasonography for academic research.Results After treatments, their symptoms of premature ovarian failure were improved and the menstrual cycle resumed. And the level of serum Follicle Stimulating Hormone decreased and the level of serum E₂ increased.Conclusions Two cases shows that oriental medicine has effects on patients with premature ovarian failure by follow-up measurements of serum hormone level, menstrual cycle and symptoms.

Epiphrenic diverticula are known to cause a series of complications. We report the case of a 54-year-old woman who was diagnosed with an epiphrenic diverticulum at a regular checkup in November 2006. Ten years later, she presented with massive hematemesis. Imaging studies revealed an epiphrenic diverticulum measuring 7.8 cm in diameter and a large amount of bleeding inside the diverticulum. Computed tomography showed fistula formation between the diverticulum and the left lower lobe of the lung, leading to the development of a pulmonary abscess. Diverticulectomy and $180^{\circ}$ posterior partial fundoplication were performed transabdominally. The pulmonary abscess was treated with antibiotics alone. She was discharged 16 days after the operation without any complications over 7 months of follow-up.
