  • Pimozide and haloperidol are typical antipsychotics. They share a similarity in pharmacotherapeutic and adverse effect profiles. Cardiovascular effects may be seen as alterations in heart rate, blood pressure, and cardiac conduction. Conduction disturbances may occur ranging from asymptomatic prolongation of the QT interval to fatal ventricular arrhythmia. So in the case of anti psychotics overdose, the patient must be carefully monitored by continuous electrocardiography (ECG). We experienced a 34-year-old woman of schizophrenia with recurrent ventricular tachycardia after pimozide and haloperidol overdose. Initially she was slightly drowsy, however her ECG showed normal sinus rhythm. After 6 hours on emergency department entrance, her ECG monitoring showed ventricular tachycardia and we successfully defibrillated. There were five times events of ventricular arrhythmia during the in-hospital stay. She was discharged 5 days later without any other complications.

  • Isolated hypoglossal nerve palsy is a rare clinical condition and it causes deviation of the tongue and dysarthria. A 50-year-old female presented with tongue deviation to the left and mild dysarthria. She had no remarkable past medical history except several recent upper respiratory infections. On examination, the other cranial nerves were intact and she had no focal neurological signs. The findings of MRI and MR angiography were normal. Cerebrospinal fluid analysis revealed only mild elevation of protein. We diagnosed her as suffering with idiopathic isolated hypoglossal nerver palsy and we administered steroid therapy. The dysarthria was improved, but the tongue deviation still remained at 50 days after onset. We report here on a rare case of idiopathic isolated hypoglossal nerve palsy.

  • This study aims to analyze the influence which Marie Antoinette, an unfortunate queen and fashion pioneer, had upon leading the creation of fashion in the eighteenth-century. In addition, this study attempts to expect some insights of fashion on the basis of analysis. Marie Antoinette created a new trend of fashion all the time through her hatred of restricting freedom, discontentment and caprice. She created the robes a l'anglaise, a la polonaise, a la levite, chemise a la reine, and so on. Also, Marie Antoinette created a giant hair style by hiring a hairdresser named Leonard. It can be believed that even though Marie Antoinette is open to censure owing to her frivolity, vanity and extravagance, she is recognized a creator of womanish, beautiful, delicate and graceful dress and ornaments.

  • This report describes the miniscalpel-acupuncture treatment of a 68-yr-old woman who had abnormal posture and involuntary dystonic movements of the head and neck. She suffered muscle contracture associated symptoms after she fell injured in 2014. Her neck had abnormal posture findings due to muscle tension. The spasms gradually worsened and did not respond to botulinum toxin injections. Involuntary dystonic movements may be due to peripheral post-traumatic cervical dystonia. Outcomes support cervical dystonia may be managed effectively with miniscalpel-acupuncture. Further research is recommended.

  • Lymphoplasmacyte-rich meningioma is a rare WHO Grade I subtype of meningioma. The lymphoplasmacyte-rich meningioma does not have typical imaging features of a meningioma so it can mimic intracranial inflammatory condition or brain neoplasm. We report the clinicopathologic features of lymphoplasmacyte-rich meningioma in a 35-year-old woman. She suffered from progressive headache, dizziness and tinnitus over two years. The tumor exhibited atypical neuroimaging features, including obvious peritumoral edema and irregular enhancing components. She underwent total resection and histologic examination revealed a meningioma with numerous plasma cells. Her symptoms have since resolved and there has been no evidence of tumor recurrence after one year of follow-up.
