It is important to estimate the rotor speed for field weakening operation in the speed sensorless stator flux oriented (SFO) induction motor drive. Several methods have been reported to estimate exactly the speed in the speed sensorless system. In this paper, we apply two observer-based methods, the Luenberger observer (LO) and the Kalman filter (KF), to SFO induction motor drive in order to achieve a speed sensorless operation in field weakening region. Two control methods are reviewed and discussed. The operation characteristics of these methods in the field weakening region is compared by simulation and experiment.

This paper proposes an improved carrier frequency offset (CFO) and sampling frequency offset (SFO) estimation scheme for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based broadcasting system with cyclic delay diversity (CDD) antenna. By exploiting a periodic nature of channel transfer function, cyclic delay and pilot pattern with a maximum channel power are carefully chosen, which helps to enable a robust estimation of CFO and SFO against the frequency selectivity of the channel. As a performance measure, a closed-form expression for the achievable mean square error of the proposed scheme is derived and is verified through simulations using the parameters of the digital radio mondiale standard. The comparison results show that the proposed frequency estimator is shown to benefit from properly selected delay parameter and pilot pattern, with a performance better than the existing estimator.
In a conventional speed sensorless stator flux-oriented(SFO) induction motor drive system, when the estimated speed is transformed into the sample-data model using the first-forward difference approximation, the sampled data model has a modeling error which, in turn, produces an error in the rotor speed estimation. The error included in the estimated speed is removed by the use of a low pass filter (LPF). As the result, the delay of the estimated speed occurs in transients by the use of the LPF This paper investigates the problem of a conventional speed sensorless SFO system due to the delay of estimated speed in the filed weakening region. In addition, this paper proposes a method to estimate exactly speed by using Luenberger observer, The proposed method is verified by experiment with a 5-hp induction motor drive.
A dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction based on solidification of floating organic droplet (DLLME-SFO) has been developed as a new approach for the extraction of trace copper in water and beverage samples followed by the determination with flame atomic absorption spectrometry. In the DLLME-SFO, 8-hydroxy quinoline, 1-dodecanol, and methanol were used as chelating agent, extraction solvent and dispersive solvent, respectively. The experimental parameters related to the DLLME-SFO such as the type and volume of the extraction and dispersive solvent, extraction time, sample volume, the concentration of chelating agent and salt addition were investigated and optimized. Under the optimum conditions, the enrichment factor for copper was 122. The method was linear in the range from 0.5 to $300\;ng\;mL^{-1}$ of copper in the samples with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.9996 and a limit of detection of $0.1\;ng\;mL^{-1}$. The method was applied to the determination of copper in water and beverage samples. The recoveries for the spiked water and beverage samples at the copper concentration levels of 5.0 and $10.0\;ng\;mL^{-1}$ were in the range between 92.0% and 108.0%. The relative standard deviations (RSD) varied from 3.0% to 5.6%.

To evaluate the effects of feeding linseed oil or/and sunflower oil mixed with fish oil on milk yield, milk composition and fatty acid (FA) profiles of dairy cows fed a high-concentrate diet, 24 crossbred primiparous lactating dairy cows in early lactation were assigned to a completely randomized design experiment. All cows were fed a high-concentrate basal diet and 0.38 kg dry matter (DM) molasses per day. Treatments were composed of a basal diet without oil supplement (Control), or diets of (DM basis) 3% linseed and fish oils (1:1, w/w, LSO-FO), or 3% sunflower and fish oils (1:1, w/w, SFO-FO), or 3% mixture (1:1:1, w/w) of linseed, sunflower, and fish oils (MIX-O). The animals fed SFO-FO had a 13.12% decrease in total dry matter intake compared with the control diet (p<0.05). No significant change was detected for milk yield; however, the animals fed the diet supplemented with SFO-FO showed a depressed milk fat yield and concentration by 35.42% and 27.20%, respectively, compared to those fed the control diet (p<0.05). Milk c9, t11-conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) proportion increased by 198.11% in the LSO-FO group relative to the control group (p<0.01). Milk C18:3n-3 (ALA) proportion was enhanced by 227.27% supplementing with LSO-FO relative to the control group (p<0.01). The proportions of milk docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) were significantly increased (p<0.01) in the cows fed LSO-FO (0.38%) and MIX-O (0.23%) compared to the control group (0.01%). Dietary inclusion of LSO-FO mainly increased milk c9, t11-CLA, ALA, DHA, and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), whereas feeding MIX-O improved preformed FA and unsaturated fatty acids (UFA). While the lowest n-6/n-3 ratio was found in the LSO-FO, the decreased atherogenecity index (AI) and thrombogenicity index (TI) seemed to be more extent in the MIX-O. Therefore, to maximize milk c9, t11-CLA, ALA, DHA, and n-3 PUFA and to minimize milk n-6/n-3 ratio, AI and TI, an ideal supplement would appear to be either LSO-FO or MIX-O.

The subfornical organ (SFO) represents neuroglial circumventricular organ structures bordering the anterior third cerebral ventricle. Owing to the absence of the blood-brain barrier, the cellular elements of subfornical organ can be reached by circulating messenger molecules transferring afferent information and provide a good coding model of chemical information processing in the body.(omitted)

Circulating substances can directly access the neurons in circumventricular organ (CVO) located on the border of cerebral ventricles. The neurons in CVO are considered to playa pivotal role in blood-brain communication. In subfonical organ (SFO), a CVO in forebrain, angiotensin II (AII) is mown to reduce A type $K^{+}$ current and input resistance, but enhance firing rate.(omitted)

This study was conducted to determine the effects of three different fat sources and their combination on growth performance, carcass traits and intestinal measurements of broiler chickens reared to 42 d of age. Two hundred day-old male broiler chicks (Ross 308) were randomly assigned to one of five treatments with four replicates of 10 chicks based on a completely randomized design. The dietary treatments consisted of 4% added fat from three different sources and their combination as follows: T, diet containing 4% tallow; CO, diet containing 4% canola oil; SFO, diet containing 4% sunflower oil; TCO, diet containing 2% tallow+2% canola oil; TSFO, diet containing 2% tallow+2% sunflower oil. Dietary fat type affected significantly BW and gain as well as feed efficiency in birds fed the TCO diets compared with those fed the other diets. Dietary fat type also modified meat yield, resulting in a higher breast and drumstick yields in the birds fed TCO and TSFO diets, respectively. Most of internal organ relative weights and small intestine measurements were not influenced by dietary treatments, except for the abdominal fat pad weight that was lower in birds fed SFO and for small intestinal length that was influenced by fat source. Results from the current study suggested that the supplementation with a combination of vegetable and animal fat sources in broiler diet supported positively growth performance and carcass parameters.

We present the Multi-band orthogonal frequency division multiplexing ultra-wideband (MB-OFDM UWB) technology for increasing the transmission reach of wireless speaker systems. The proposed scheme adopts the Reed-Solomon coding for preventing the random error perfectly and shows the SNR gain in low bit error rate (BER) especially. So, we can increase the maximum reach of MB-OFDM UWB technology since the receiver sensitivity is improved. The simulation environment includes most effects of realistic channel environments such as Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN), CM1 channel model, Sampling frequency offset (SFO), Carrier frequency offset (CFO) to improve the simulation accuracy. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can give a maximum 2 dB SNR gain and increase the transmission reach up to 12.6m.
