  • This paper describes the mechanical and control design of a robotic device for providing therapeutic assistance to arm movement following stroke. This is a new robot for arm therapy applicable to the training of activities of daily living in homes and clinics. This instrument has one degrees of freedom, and is equipped with position and force sensors. Repetitive movement can improve movement performance in patients with neurological or orthopaedic lesions. The application of robotics can serve to assist, enhance, evaluate, and document neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation of movements. The new robot, the mechanical structure, the control circuit, the sensors and actuators and some safety aspects.

  • The possibility is investigated of determining the diffuse absorption coefficients of the wall surfaces in a real room by minimizing the errors between the measured energy impulse response of a real room and the predicted energy impulse responses obtained from the ray tracing simulation of the room. In other words, this can possibly serve as a basis for "acoustical system identification" in attempting to determine the "best fit" of modelled absorption coefficients to measured energy response data. Algorithms for attempting this were investigated. The algorithms developed for this purpose proved to be rigorous and efficient. Instead of using the ray tracing model to determine the absorption coefficients, the phase image model was used in order to determine the acoustic impedances of wall surfaces. However, the numerical algorithms could not find the correct impedance values, primarily due to the wide range of the acoustic impedance values of any single acoustic material and very long computation time.

  • As the Internet service is expanding rapidly, portal sites, a gateway tn the net, are attracting increasing attention these days. As the Internet service has expanded rapidly, so has the interest for portal sites,, which serve as a gateway to the net. Despite the tendency, however, research on a measure by which to evaluate the quality of portal sites or development of such measures has not been fully pursued. As online services, faced with profitability, are considering 'charge per view', the development of a set of quality evaluation measures for portal services will prove to become a valuable instrument in constructing competitive strategies that are vital for survival and growth of a firm. In that regard, this study aims to develop a set of evaluation measures for Internet portal sites by empirically investigating the most common offline measures for quality of services, SERVQUAL, retail SERVQUAL and other evaluation measures for IT-related online services. Moreover, the study offers the strategic implications of the defined measures.

  • This is a study on how to create an ecological arboretum that would promote biodiversity by creating wild animal habitats in terms of using large-scale remnants in urban areas and that would serve as a field for environment education based on its locational feature of being an urban area and its accessibility. This study is significant in a sense that this is the first arboretum to be created in urban area. However, it has a couple of limitations and they are as follows. First, since an arboretum creation plan is a mid/long-term plan, it is difficult to verify the biodiversity promotion effect of the application of habitats and creation techniques. Second, as the space was created by considering ecological features and utilizing natural prototype, the diversity of forest trees in here is lower than that of a traditional arboretum.

  • Objectives In human, there is a diversity in the breathing pattern, for instance inspiratory and expiratory time, volume, breathing frequency, and breath-to-breath variation. Expecially, respiratory variability can provide important information about breathing regulation and physiological flexibility. it is significant to not only breathing index but also physiological index. Methods Thus this paper reviews the literature on respiratory variability with the aim of clinical application. Results We could find the interrelationships and respiratory variability between emotions, psychopathy, sighing, mental and physical activity. Conclusions As a result, respiratory variability can serve an important physiological index in the clinical area and reflects how our bodies act in diverse environments under various condition.

  • The purpose of this research was to assess university students' nutrition knowledge, confidence, information sources and their body image. This study used an online survey engine to collect data from college students. The result of the correlation showed overall subjective knowledge had significant correlation with nutrition. Means of the BMI were compared among the demographic groups with regard to their ethnicity, classification, and age. Significant differences were found among demographic groups regarding the means of the BMI. These findings can enhance the extant literature on the universal applicability of the model and serve as useful references for further investigations within other health care or foodservice settings and for other health behavioral categories.

  • The purpose of current study is to develop and estimate a proposed model that explains the potential relationships among food quality, experiential value, price fairness, image, satisfaction, and behavioral intention in context of water park. In addition, the study will verify how these factors link to each other. Results show that food quality is a significant antecedent of experience value, price fairness, water park image. Also, the experiential value and water park image influence on visitors' satisfaction. Last, the satisfaction is critical predictor of behavioral intention. These findings will contribute to understand the consumers' perception about water park, and how derives the customer satisfaction and behavioral intention. In sum, present study will serve insights for industry marketers and managers in water park segment.

  • The trailer is an advertising process that requires systematic fabrication in the planning process. However, the role of sufficient consideration of the specialty of the merchandise, and the study of the quality of the merchandise, can serve as an effective advertisement. Therefore, a trailer from a marketing standpoint should effectively express the components that need to be delivered to potential audiences within a brief running time. Want to see if the rhythm of the trailers can be tangible, and how it affects receivers.

  • The essence of inclusive innovation is to serve poor, marginalized and underprivileged sections of society to improve their livelihoods and enable them to climb up the socio-economic ladder. In this article, we explore the contemporary Indian landscape. There is a diversity of institutions and institutional approaches, multiple methodologies and goals in promoting inclusive innovations in this landscape. There are grassroots innovation institutions. All these institutions and groups have demonstrated how to improve the living conditions of poor people and enhance their income. They have developed different methodologies of inclusive innovation to intervene, build capacities and capabilities of poor people towards bridging informal and formal sectors of economy. Indian landscape can now boast of some successful models and a "social laboratory" for inclusive innovation. The challenge, however, remains to replicate and multiply these models to impact other sectors of Indian informal economy.

  • Two-dimensional (2D) materials have been studied widely owing to their outstanding properties since monolayer graphene was isolated in 2004. Especially, among 2D materials, phosphorene, a single atomic layer of black phosphorus (BP), has been highlighted for its electrical properties. This material can serve as a substitute for graphene, which has been revealed as a "semi-metal", in next-generation semiconductors. However, few-layer BP is prone to degradation under ambient conditions owing to its reactivity with oxygen and water, which results in the condensation of water droplets on the surface of the BP flakes. This causes charge transfer from the phosphorus atom to oxygen, resulting in the formation of phosphoric acid (oxide) and degrades the various properties of BP. Therefore, it is necessary to find passivation methods to prevent BP flakes from being degraded under ambient conditions. This review article deals with recent studies on passivation methods for BP and their performance against oxygen and water, effects on the electrical properties of BP, and the extent to how they protect BP.
