The Model Structure on Hotel Brand, Service Quality Perception and Choice along Intention of Use (호텔 이용 의도에 따른 호텔 브랜드, 서비스 지각과 호텔 선택의 구조적 관계)

  • Hotel companies have to offer well furnished of a lodging and a meal and must keep the best customer supporting service. Because, customers have very strict standards and require fancy service to hotel that they pay. The Customers have different criteria to select hotel according to their purpose such as accommodation, banquet or convention. Hotel recognitions are also different along the purposes. I analyzed effects of hotel choice by intention to use hotel of customers in this research. To verify the effects, I used a structured model by AMOS 4.0 This study results show that the customers chose hotel in accordance with their intention of stay ; accommodation, banquet or convention etc. However, it is not significant hypothesis, that the guests select hotel along the brand recognition or the service perception.

A Study of Freshman Dropout Prediction Model Using Logistic Regression with Shift-Sigmoid Classification Function (시프트 시그모이드 분류함수를 가진 로지스틱 회귀를 이용한 신입생 중도탈락 예측모델 연구)

  • The dropout of university freshmen is a very important issue in the financial problems of universities. Moreover, the dropout rate is one of the important indicators among the external evaluation items of universities. Therefore, universities need to predict dropout students in advance and apply various dropout prevention programs targeting them. This paper proposes a method to predict such dropout students in advance. This paper is about a method for predicting dropout students. It proposes a method to select dropouts by applying logistic regression using a shift sigmoid classification function using only quantitative data from the first semester of the first year, which most universities have. It is based on logistic regression and can select the number of prediction subjects and prediction accuracy by using the shift sigmoid function as an classification function. As a result of the experiment, when the proposed algorithm was applied, the number of predicted dropout subjects varied from 100% to 20% compared to the actual number of dropout subjects, and it was found to have a prediction accuracy of 75% to 98%.

Performance Prediction of Centrifugal Pumps using Two Zone Model (두영역모델을 사용한 원심펌프의 성능예측)

  • In this study, the performance prediction programs for centrifugal pumps are developed. To estimate the losses in the centrifugal pump impellers, two-zone model and TEIS(two elements in series) model are applied to the program. The basic concept of two zone model considers the primary zone that is an isentropic core flow and the secondary zone that is non-isentropic region at the impeller exit. The flows through two different zones mixed out at the impeller exit and the mixing process occurs with an increase in entropy, a decrease in total pressure. The level of the core flow diffusion in a impeller was calculated using TEIS(two elements in series) model. The effects of various parameters which are used in this program on the prediction of head and efficiency are discussed. The correlation curves to select the effectiveness of the primitive TEIS model were suggested according to the specific speed of the centrifugal pumps.

A Study on Estimating Function Point Count of Domestic Software Development Projects (국내 소프트웨어 개발사업에 적합한 기능점수규모 예측방법에 관한 연구)

  • Function point model is the international standard method to measure the software size which is one of the most important factors to determine the software development cost. Function point model can successfully be applied only when the detailed specification of users' requirements is available. In the domestic public sector, however, the budgeting for software projects is carried out before the requirements of softwares ere specified in detail. Therefore, an efficient function point estimation method is required to apply function point model at the early stage of software development projects. The purpose of this paper is to compare various function point estimation methods and analyse their accuracies in domestic software projects. We consider four methods : NESMA model, ISBSG model, the simplified function point model and the backfiring method. The methods are applied to about one hundred of domestic projects, and their estimation errors are compared. The results can used as a criterion to select an adequate estimation model for function point counts.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new fuzzy model called fuzzy combined polynomial neural networks, which are based on the representative fuzzy model named polynomial fuzzy model. In the design procedure of the proposed fuzzy model, the coefficients on consequent parts are estimated by using not general least square estimation algorithm that is a sort of global learning algorithm but weighted least square estimation algorithm, a sort of local learning algorithm. We are able to adopt various type of structures as the consequent part of fuzzy model when using a local learning algorithm. Among various structures, we select Polynomial Neural Networks which have nonlinear characteristic and the final result of which is a complex mathematical polynomial. The approximation ability of the proposed model can be improved using Polynomial Neural Networks as the consequent part.

  • The automated mechanical transmission(AMT) is composed of electronic control management(ECM) and automatic shift gear(ASG). The AMT has advantages which are high efficiency of manual transmissions(MT) and offer operation convenience similar to automatic transmissions(AT). However, it has defects that are the torque gap during gear shift transients and shift time is long. To reduce such defects, it is necessary practically to evaluate error and characteristics as developing simulation model before the control algorithm is applied. In this paper, models are composed of vehicle model and AMT shift control model. Particularly AMT shift control model consists of main clutch management model (MCM) and shift control management model(SCM). The developed models were verified by comparing the simulated and experimental results under the same operational conditions. It can also be used to evaluate shift algorithm.

  • This paper deals with an integration model of three major quality management systems. The well known global standards such as ISO 9001 quality system, Malcolm Baldrige model, and EFQM model are integrated as a prototype quality system. The proposed model is then applied to help a power generation company to select improvement tasks for enhancing quality management. Here, we discuss three quality management systems, an integration process of the three systems, the integrated model, and a real world application case.

  • One of the most difficult tasks in pavement management information systems is establishing the links between performance measures of a structure and the design and construction inputs. In-situ pavement performance can be considered a response variable to many project input variables, such as design, construction, and traffic loading effects. If we are to fully understand the component of pavement performance and specify the inputs through design and construction specifications to achieve that performance we must develop quantitative relationship between input and response variables through a scientific, fully integrated Pavement Performance Analysis System (PPAS). Hence, the objective of this study is to design a database model required for developing an effective database template that will allow analysis of pavement performance measures based on design and construction information linked by location. In order to select the most appropriate database model, a conceptual database model (Entity Relationship Model) and dimensional model, which is believed to be the most effective modeling technique for data warehouse project, are designed and compared. It is believed that other state highway agencies could adopt the proposed design strategy for implementing a PPAS at the discretion of the state highway agencies.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop assessment model for selection of new DSM investment programs. In this research, MAUT method which find assessment value by each attributes related to selecting new DSM investment programs using utility function and integrate with structural frame was used to develop assessment model. In order to validate the usefulness of the model, assessment model was applied for actual candidate group of new DSM investment programs in natural gas domain. By utilize this assessment model to select new DSM investment programs, it is expected to minimize risk of new program launching and to maximize efficiency of DSM investment programs.
