  • OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)의 단점인 높은 PAPR(Peak-to-Average Power Ratio)을 개선하기 위한 방법 중에서 SDT(Signal Distortion Technique)는 전송시스템의 규격 및 수신기의 변경 없이도 적용 가능한 이점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 SDT에 속하는 clipping과 peak windowing 기법을 Eureka 147 DAB(Digital Audio Broadcasting) 시스템에 적용하여 얻은 BER 및 PSD 성능결과를 토대로 PAPR 개선 정도에 따른 시스템의 요구 $Es/N_0$ 및 out-of-band의 PSD 열화 정도를 분석하였다. Hamming windowing을 적용한 경우, PAPR 4㏈에서 clipping에 비해 요구 $Es/N_0$는 비슷한 열화정도가 나타났으나, out-of-band의 PSD는 5dB 정도 개선되는 성능을 보였다.

  • To provide ameliorated aided environment to hearing impaired listeners, background noise reduction techniques are investigated as a front-end of conventional hearing aids, and their effects are tested in a subjective manner. Several speech enhancement schemes were implemented and preference tests or normal listeners are performed to select the best possible scheme or hearing impaired listeners. Results indicated that SDT scores without the speech enhancement scheme drop more sharply as SNR decreases than those with the speech enhancement techniques. SDT scores obtained or hearing impaired listeners with hearing aids showed large variability. However, all impaired listeners preferred noise suppressed sounds to unsuppressed ones.

  • Among various ammonium salts and metal ammine chlorides used as solid materials for the sources of ammonia with solid SCR for lean NOx reduction, magnesium ammine chloride was taken up for study in this paper because of its ease of handling and safety. Lab-scale synthetic method of magnesium ammine chloride were studied for different durations, temperatures, and pressures with proper ammonia gas charged, as a respect of ammonia gas adsorption rate(%). To understand material characteristics for lab-made magnesium ammine chloride, DA, IC, FT-IR, XRD and SDT analyses were performed using the published data available in literature. From the analytical results, the water content in the lab-made magnesium ammine chloride can be determined. A new test procedure for water removal was proposed, by which the adsorption rate of lab-made sample was found to be approximately 100%.

A Study on the Self-voice Suppression Algorithm in a ZigBee CROS Hearing Aid (지그비 크로스 보청기에서의 자기음성 억제 알고리즘 연구)

  • In this study, we developed a wireless CROS(contralateral routing of signal) hearing aid for unilateral impaired people. CROS hearing aid takes sound from an ear with poorer hearing and transmit to another ear with better hearing. Generally, the self-voice delivered through the receiver of CROS hearing aid can be very loud. It is hard to perceive target speech because of loud self-voice. To compensate it, a self-voice suppression algorithm has been developed. we performed SDT(speech discrimination test) for evaluation of the self-voice suppression algorithm. One-syllable words was used as test speech and recorded with self-voice at a 1m distance. As the results, SDT score was improved about 11% when the self-voice suppression algorithm was processed. It is verified that the self-voice suppression algorithm helps speech perception at a time to communicate with others.

Storage characteristics of milled rice according to milling system types (백미 제조방식에 따른 저장특성)

  • The storage characteristics of milled rice produced using the dry-type (DT), semi-dry-type (SDT), and wet-type (WT) systems were studied. Immediately after rice was milled with these systems, storage experiments on the milled rice were conducted for 12 weeks at three temperatures (10, 20, and $30^{\circ}C$). As the storage period increased, the color (b value) and the fat acidity slowly increased, and the whiteness, moisture content, turbidity, solid matter, and number of total bacteria decreased. The effects of the storage temperature on the moisture content, total number of bacteria, and fat acidity were greater than those of the milling system type. The high storage temperature showed greater potential for increasing the moisture content and the fat acidity and decreasing the total number of bacteria. The initial moisture content of the sample produced using the WT milling system was higher than that of the other samples. Also, the initial turbidity and solid matter of the WT system sample were lower than those of the other samples, but the degree of the decrease was similar to that of the others as the storage period passed. These results showed that the system type and the storage temperature are important factors in the safe storage of wash-free rice. Specifically, the wet type milling system affected the initial quality properties, which made its safe storage period shorter than in the other types.

An Efficient Quadtree Method Based on SDT for Noise Image

  • Since the existing quadtree image segmentation methods decide the presence of image information using the maximum and minimum pixel value within an image block, they are very sensitive to noise. Although many image segmentation methods have been researched up to date, they can not execute the optimum image segmentation if noise is included in an image because there is no accurate parameters which can distinguish noise. For that reason, all application using the existing quadtree segmentation has potential of decreasing in performance due to noise. This paper proposed a quadtree image segmentation based on SDT (Standard Deviation Threshold) that can effectively extract image information parameters from a noise image. This method has the advantage of distinguishing the presence of image information even if the image has noises caused by communication. Furthermore, this paper verified through test comparison that the proposed quadtree segmentation could estimate more accurate image information parameters than the existing ones even in noise-added environment.

  • 디지털 방송기술의 비약적인 발전으로 기존 HD(High Definition) 화질의 4~16배까지 지원 가능한 UHD(Ultra High Definition) 방송 서비스가 제공되는 새로운 시대를 맞이하게 되었다. UHD 방송은 초고선명 비디오와 22.2 채널 오디오 서비스가 가능한 차세대 실감방송 기술이다. 이러한 UHD 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 고압축 영상 코덱 기술인 HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding), OFDM(Othogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 기반 대용량 전송기술과 다양한 멀티미디어 부가서비스 가능한 전송 프로토콜이 필수적으로 요구된다. 최근 UHD 방송 전송 프로토콜로 표준화 추진 중인 MMT(MPEG Media Transport)는 이기종망에서 적용할 수 있으며, 양방향 전환이 가능하여 시청자의 요구사항을 실시간으로 반영할 수 있다는 장점을 지닌다. 한편, 지상파 UHD 방송 서비스를 빠르고 효과적으로 수신하기 위해 필요한 정보인 NIT(Network Information Table), RRT(Rating Region Table) 및 SDT(Service Description Table)가 MMT 시그널링 프로토콜에서는 포함되어 있지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 지상파 UHD 방송 서비스의 효과적 수신이 가능한 MMT 기반 지상파 UHD 방송을 위해 NIT, RRT 및 SDT 정보가 포함된 서비스 시그널링 구조을 제안한다.

  • In this paper, we design, validate and implement WTP(Wireless Transaction Protocol) using SDT(SDL Design Tool). We do modeling WTP protocol by SDL(Specification and Description Language), design and implement the environment function for the interface between the SDL system and the UDP platform and design APIs(Application Programming Interface). And we do conformance testing for WTP protocol software using ITEX(Interactive TTCN Editor and eXecutor). We write ATS(Abstract Test Suite) by TTCN(Tree and Tabular Combined Notation) and make ETS(Executable Test Suite) by the TTCN compiler supplied by ITEX.

The impact of motivation of using the corporate Facebook on consumer-brand relationship : Focused on a Self-Determination Motivation Theory (SNS 이용동기가 브랜드 관계에 미치는 영향 관계 고찰: 자기결정이론 적용을 중심으로)

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to verify motivations of corporate Facebook usage and to examine the impacts of usage motivations on brand attachment, trust and loyalty. Design/methodology/approach A conceptual model is developed based on Self-determination theory(SDT) and the previous studies. We conducted a web survey with a convenient sample of 121 Facebook users who clicked "Like" button on the corporate Facebook pages. Findings The followings are the findings of the study. First, intrinsic motivation(Entertainment) turned out to have positive effects on brand attachment. Second, extrinsic motivation(information exchange) turned out to have positive effects on brand trust. Third, brand attachment turned out to have positive effects on brand loyalty. These findings provide a valuable basis for constructing an explanatory model for "Like"-clicking behaviors of corporate's Facebook community platform users, as well as making significant practical contributions to enhance social and commercial benefits for businesses and individuals.

  • OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 전송방식은 SCM(Single Carrier Modulation)에 비해 우수한 여러 가지 장점들을 가지며, 방송시스템들 중 Eureka 147 DAB(Digital Audio Broadcasting) 시스템에 가장 먼저 채택되었다. 그러나 OFDM 신호의 높은 PAPR(Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) 특성은 D/A, A/D 변환기의 복잡도를 높이고, 고출력 증폭기의 효율성을 감소시키는 원인이 된다. 이를 개선하기 위한 방법 중에, SDT(Signal Distortion Technique)는 전송시스템의 규격 및 수신기의 변경 없이도 적용 가능하다는 장점을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 SDT에 속하는 companding 기법을 Eureka 147 DAB 시스템에 적용하여 PAPR 개선정도에 따른 시스템의 요구 $E_2/N_0$ 및 out-of-band의 PSD 열화 정도를 분석하였으며, 이를 clipping 기법의 성능과 비교하였다. 모의실험 결과, $\mu$값이 2인 경우, companding 기법이 PAPR, $E_2/N_0$, out-of-band의 PSD 특성 모두에서 clipping 기법에 비해 우수한 성능을 나타냈다. 또한 $\mu$ 값을 고정시킨 경우, 정규화 값이 증가할수록 신호왜곡 정도가 줄어들어 $E_2/N_0$, out-of-band의 PSD 성능개선 정도는 증가하지만, 이와는 반대로 PAPR 값은 개선 정도가 줄어들었다.
