  • Seven flue-cured tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum) varieties and their 21 progenies in Fl and F2 generation, half diallel crosses(no reciprocal), were tested for the degree of heterosis and combining abilities in sucker producing character according to topping and suckering treatment. Significant difference in number and weight of sucker was observed among seven cultivars. The values of general combining ability(GCA) were greater than those of specific combining ability(SCA) in weight and number of sucker in F$_1$ generation. In topping and suckering plot, Cocker 86, McNair 944, and Va 115 revealed the significant negative GCA effects for number and weight of sucker, but By 104 and Speight G-28 did positive GCA. Without topping and suckering, GCA effects for sucker weight in Cocker 139 and Cocker 86 were negative and those for sucker number in Va. 115 were also negative. Negative SCA values in sucker weight could be observed in F$_1$ generation of Cocker 86 X BY 104 and Speiht G-28 X Cocker 86, in F$_2$ of Hicks $\times$ Speight G-28 and McNair 944 $\times$ BY 104 in topping and suckering plot. SCA in F$_1$ of McNair 944 X Cocker 86 and Speight G-28 X Cocker 139 was negative without topping and suckering. The value of heterosis in sucker producing character of F$_1$ hybrids was positive

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing symptom self management (SSM) in the patient with a chronic mental disorder. Method: Data was collected by questionnaires from 204 chronic mental disorders in an outpatient clinic in a General Hospital and Public Mental Health Centers in Seoul and Kyunggi Province. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression, Results: The score of SSM showed a significantly positive correlation with the score of the level of self efficacy (SE) (r=.33, p=.00), social support (SS) (r=.27, p=.00), self care agency (SCA) (r=.36, p=.00) and daily living ability (DLA) (r=.34, p=.00). The score of DLA showed a significantly positive correlation with the score of level of SE (r=.46, p=.00), SS (r=.51, p=.00), and SCA (r=.52, p=.00), The most powerful predictor of SSM was SCA ($14\%$). A combination of SCA, DLA, and SS account for $20 \%$ of the variance in SSM. Conclusion: This study suggests that SCA, DLA, and SS are significant influencing factors on SSM in patients with chronic mental disorders.

  • This paper examines the effect of e-service quality on the users of the Facebook marketplace. Users can always have stickiness intention. Stickiness intention is regarded as repetitive visits to and use of a certain website because of a commitment to continue using that website. Hence, we examine and explain the influence of e-service quality variables on stickiness intention. The variables used for e-service quality include efficiency, fulfillment, system availability, and privacy. The researchers related stickiness intention variable to online media users who always use the Facebook marketplace longer than other marketplaces, and users who visit the Facebook marketplace more often than other marketplaces. The method of data analysis was using inferential statistics GeSCA method. The GeSCA method is a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique that can directly analyze latent variables, indicators, and measurement errors. The results of the GeSCA method before the COVID-19 pandemic states that an increase in e-service quality by 77.5% will increase stickiness intention by 61.2%. The results of the GeSCA method after the COVID-19 pandemic states that an increase in e-service quality by 85.2% would increase stickiness intention by 81.1%. This indicates that Facebook marketplace users had more stickiness intention for the Facebook marketplace.

  • A genetic study on the panicle characters in Oryza sativa was carried out by means of a 5 x 5 diallel cross. The five parental varieties were Raekyung, Yeongnamjosaeng, Nongbaek, Yushin and Honenwase. All characters were correlated positively each other, except number of kernels per primary branch. The number of secondary branches per primary branch.was the most effective factor in determining the number of kernels per panicle, the next being the number of primary branches per panicle. Regression analyses of the data of Vr/Wr indicated the presence of non-allelic gene interactions for all characters. Overdominant characters were the number of kernels per panicle, the number of primary branches per panicle, the number of secondary branches per primary branch, the number of kernels per primary branch and sum of kernels on all the tertiary branches per panicle, suggesting that the characters were more influenced by dominant effect than additive effect. However, the number of kernels per secondary branch was partially dominant where the genetic variation was due more to additive effect than to dominance effect. But after omitting the parent which had non-allelic interaction gene, the characters; the number of kernels per panicle, the number of secondary branches per primary branch, and the number of kernels per secondary branch, were partially dominant. Narrow sense heritabilities(h$^2$ N) in number of kernels per panicle and number of secondary branches were high and moderate, respectively, but those of the rest were lower. Mean squares of GCA and SCA of all characters, except SCA of the number of kernels per secondary branch, were highly significant. Effects of GCA were larger than SCA effects in all characters. Raekyung, Yushin and Nongbaek had highly positive GCA, and the best positive SCA was observed in crosses of Nongbaek x Tongillines (Raekyung, Yushin, and Yeongnamjosaeng) in all characters.

  • We examined saury, herring, gizzard shad kwamaegi to measure of microbic contamination rate of kwamegi that are sold in the market now. In the total bacteria, staphylococcus, peroxide value, and microorganisms is inhibited that from sample that we treated a substance with chitosan-ascorbate (CA) and other orders deep water (DW), ginseng steamed red and wine (GRW), NT (not treated). When we compared between SGRW and SNT, SCA show us more inhibition effect 0.22-0.49 log cycle in the total aerobacter. When we compared between HDW and HNT, HCA restraint 0.05-0.45log cycle, and when we compared between GDW and GNT, GCA inhibited 0.45 log cycle. In the coliform and E. coli, growths of microorganisms were inhibited followed order by treatment of CA, NT, and DW. GDW, HCA and HNT checked enough amount of water from the moisture measurement; but SGW, GCA, HEW and SCA showed 7-15% lack of moisture, and SNT and GNT have 10% more moisture. Peroxide value is changed to 41-51meq/kg when we did treat CA in there and a side that didn't add antimicrobial expressed the result numerically that 56-58meq/kg. In the sensory evaluation, customer gave preference to followed by Saury kwamaegi, herring, and gizzard shad kwamaegi. We have a point of view when kwamaeki manufactured if we add natural antibiotic and it uses to vacuum drying, we would inhibited of multiplication of microorganism, and of peroxides.

  • People with spinocerebellar ataxia, a hereditary and progressive neurogenic disorder, suffer from ataxic dysarthria due to cerebellar dystrophy. This study was designed to examine if intensive motor speech treatment yields improvement in progressive ataxic dysarthria and if then, to investigate magnitude of therapeutic effect. SPEAK $OUT!^{(R)}$ was provided to a 55-year old female diagnosed with SCA for improving motor speech functions. Magnitude of therapeutic effect was large in changes of MPT and vocal intensity across speech tasks. Small effect size was found in changes of fundamental frequency, however, large therapeutic effect was observed in changes of frequency range. In addition, improvement of vocal quality based on jitter, shimmer, and HNR was observed with large therapeutic effect size and vowel space was expanded, particularly, due to F1. Lastly, VHI scores were decreased. Intensive motor speech treatment, called as SPEAK $OUT!^{(R)}$ was effective enough to observe improvement in vocal intensity, frequency range, and vocal quality, expanding vowel space and lowering VHI scores. Based on the results of this case study, further efficacy evaluation of SPEAK $OUT!^{(R)}$ for improving progressive ataxic dysarthria in people with SCA is required.

  • This study was carried out to obtain basic genetic informations in pea(Pisum sativum L.). A series of field experiments were carried out with seven pea cultivars and F$_1$ hybrids for three years. Based on the information collected from a set of diallel crosses, the behaviours of inheritance of seed yield and ten major agronomical characters were observed by the estimation of heterosis and combining ability. Heterosis for seed yield per plant was 79% and those for yield components such as number of seeds per plant, number of pods per plant, stem length, stem diameter, number of branches per plant, also showed relatively high values. General combining ability(GCA) and specific combining ability(SCA) were significantly different among major agronomic characters, and the variances of GCA were higher than those of SCA latter. Among the tested cultivars, Alderman was found to be the most promising parent based upon the GCA effects on the seed yield and yield components. The crosses of Sugar Ann$\times$Alderman, Wando$\times$Alderman and JI 1198$\times$Chinju #6, showed the highest SCA effects on seed yield and yield components.

  • This study is to make snowfall distribution map for the 4 heavy snowfall events of January 2001, March of 2004, December of 2005 and January of 2010, and compare the results for three cases of construction methods. The cases are to generate the map by applying IDW(Inverse Distance Weighting) interpolation to 76 ground measured snowfall point data (Snow Depth Map; SDM), mask out the SDM with the MODIS snow cover area (MODIS SCA) of Terra MODIS (MODerate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) (SDM+MODIS SCA; SDM_M), and consider the snowdepth lapse rate of snowfall by elevation (Digital Elevation Model; DEM) to the second case (SDM_M+DEM; SDM_MD). By applying the MODIS SCA, the SCA of 4 events was 62.9%, 44.1%, 52.0%, and 69.0% for the area of South Korea. For the average snow depth, the SDM_M decreased 0.9cm, 1.9cm, 0.8cm, and 1.5cm compared to SDM and the SDM_MD increased 1.3cm, 0.9cm, 0.4cm, and 1.2cm respectively.

  • Hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) are multipotent cells that reside in the bone marrow and replenish all adult hematopoietic lineages throughoutthe lifetime. In this study, we analyzed the expression of receptors of $P2Y_{10}$, purinergic receptor families in murine hematopoietic stem cells, hematopoietic progenitor cells. In addition, the biological activity of $P2Y_{10}$ was investigated with B lymphocyte cell line, Ba/F3 in effect to cell growth and cell cycle. From the analysis of expression in hematopoieticstem cell. and progenitor with RT-PCR, $P2Y_{10}$ was strongly expressed in murine hematopoieticstem cells (c-kit+ Sca-l+ Lin-) and progenitor cell population, such as c-kit- Sca-l+ Lin-, c-kit+ Sca-l- Lin- and c-kit- Sca-l- Lin-. To investigate the biological effects by $P2Y_{10}$, retroviral vector from subcloned murine $P2Y_{10}$ cDNA was used fur gene introduction into Ba/F3 cells, and stable transfectant cells were obtained by flow cytometry sorting. In cell proliferation assay, the proliferation ability of $P2Y_{10}$ receptor genetransfected cells was strongly inhibited, and the cell cycle was arrested at G1 phase. These result suggest that the $P2Y_{10}$ may be involved the biological activity in hematopoietic stem cells and immature B lymphocytes.
