Lateral and superior-lateral dislocations of the intact condyle are a rare complication, following traumatic insult to the mandible. We report an unusual case of a 54-year-old male patient who experienced both types of dislocations of the intact condyles with symphysis fracture following a road-traffic accident. Under general anesthesia, conventional manipulation was unsuccessful in relocating the condyles into the glenoid fossa. After applying a percutaneous traction force, using a bone traction hook placed at the sigmoid notch, the displaced intact mandibular condyles were repositioned, and the symphyseal fracture was finally reduced and fixed. The mouth opening was within normal limits, and favorable occlusion was confirmed one month postoperatively. To our knowledge, this is the first case of dislocation of both intact condyles--associated with symphysis fracture--being reduced with bone traction hook.

The authors' research efforts recently led to the development of a customized wireless control unit which receives the real-time feedbacks from the sensors, and elaborates the consequent control signal to drive the actuator(s). The controller is wireless in performing the data transmission task, i.e., it receives the signals from the sensors without the need of installing any analogue cable connection between them, but it is powered by wire. The actuator also needs to be powered by wire. In this framework, the design of a power management unit is of interest only for the wireless sensor stations, and it should be adaptable to different kind of sensor requirements in terms of voltage and power consumption. In the present paper, the power management efficiency is optimized by taking into consideration three different kinds of accelerometers, a load cell, and a non-contact laser displacement sensor. The required voltages are assumed to be provided by a power harvesting solution where the energy is stored into a capacitor.

The use of pre-tensioned shape memory alloy (SMA) wires to retrofit historic masonry structures is investigated. A small wall, serving as a prototype masonry specimen, is constructed to undergo a series of shaking-table tests. It is first studied in its original state, and its dynamic characteristics (in terms of modal frequencies) are extracted from the recorded signals. The results are then compared with those obtained when an increasing number of couples of pre-stressed SMA wires are introduced in the specimen to link the bricks together. A three-dimensional finite element model of the specimen is developed and calibrated according to the modal parameters identified from each experimental test (with and without SMA wires). The calibration process is conducted by enhancing the masonry mechanical behaviour. The results and the effectiveness of the approach are presented.

Venous malformations arising from the peripheral nerve are a rare type of vascular malformation. We present the first case of an intraneural venous malformation of the median nerve to be reported in a child and review the previous two cases of median nerve compression due to a venous malformation that have been reported. These cases presented with painless masses in the volar aspect of the wrist or with symptoms suggestive of carpal tunnel syndrome. Clinical suspicion should lead to the use of Doppler ultrasonography as the first-line diagnostic tool. Magnetic resonance imaging and histopathology can confirm the diagnosis, as phleboliths are pathognomonic of venous malformations. Surgical treatment appears to be the only modality capable of successfully controlling the growth of an intraneural malformation. Sclerotherapy and radiotherapy have never been used to treat this type of malformation.

The design of a passive control solution based on tuned mass dampers (TMD's) requires the estimation of the actual masses involved in the undesired vibration. This task may result not so straightforward as expected when the vibration resides in subsets of different structural components. This occurs, for instance, when the goal is to damp out vibrations on stays. The theoretical aspects are first discussed and a design process is formulated. For sake of exemplification, a multiple TMD's configurations is eventually conceived for an existing timber footbridge located in the municipality of Trasaghis (North-Eastern Italy). The bridge span is 83 m and the deck width is 3.82 m.

In this paper a nonlinear, bistable, single degree of freedom system is considered. It consists of a Duffing oscillator externally excited by a non-resonant, harmonic force. A customized perturbation scheme is proposed to achieve an approximate expression for periodic solutions. It is based on the evaluation of the quasi-steady (slow) solution, and then on a variable change followed by two perturbation steps which aim to capture the fast, decaying contribution of the response. The reconstructed solution, given by the sum of the slow and fast contributions, is in a good agreement with the one obtained by numerical integration.

오늘날의 경찰활동의 가치는 범죄통제에 초점을 두는, 즉 범죄진압을 강조하는 사건지향적인 경찰활동이라 할 수 있는 전통적인 경찰활동에서 순찰 등의 강화를 통한 범죄예방에 중점을 두는 지역사회 경찰활동으로 그 중심이 옮겨가고 있다. 이러한 지역사회 경찰활의 철학을 실천하는 전략으로서 문제지향적 경찰활동이 강조되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 도시범죄와 관련하여 현실적으로 범죄문제에 대응할 수 있는 범죄예방전략인 문제지향적 경찰활동의 이론적인 틀을 모색하고자 하는데 연구의 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 문제지향적 경찰활동의 기본적인 개념과 특징, 그리고 문제지향적 경찰활동 실천의 핵심인 SARA모델과 사례를 살펴보았다.

본 논문에서는 UNITY3D 엔진을 사용하여 스마트폰에서 조작할 수 있는 2D 캐주얼 육성 게임을 설계하는 것을 목적으로 한다. UNITY3D 엔진을 사용하는 이유는 소량의 비용으로 멀티 플랫폼을 지원해주고, 한가지의 소스코드를 이용하여 다양한 플랫폼에서 사용할 수 있기 때문이다. 본 논문의 특징으로는 기존에 있는 육성게임에 캐주얼 게임을 더해 미니게임을 넣어서 장르간의 융합을 이루었고, 10대 20대의 여성, 반려동물을 좋아하는 사람들을 대상으로 하였고, 손쉬운 조작 방법과 아기자기한 강아지의 모습으로 게임을 설계한다.

A structured review study of drug interventions on sleep disorders in patients with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) has not been published to date. This systematic review aimed to investigate drug interventions for the treatment of sleep disorders in children with ASD. The Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus databases were searched until March 2019. Study quality was assessed using the Delphi checklist. Due to the heterogeneity of the findings, a meta-analysis was not possible. Drug interventions for the treatment of sleep disorders in patients with ASD included melatonin, atomoxetine, and risperidone. Atomoxetine had no effect on sleep disorders in patients with ASD. A total of 10 studies were reviewed. Melatonin appears to be useful for the treatment of sleep problems in patients with ASD, but further studies are needed to determine the effects of other drugs.

Purpose - Entrepreneurship has started to emerge. There are huge technology startups from the past few decades. Current scenario demands entrepreneurship and there is an immense need to start green ventures where Eco-Entrepreneurs, Sustainable Entrepreneurs/ Sustainopreneurs strive together to make world a better place. But the latest Five-Year Plan is green, at least in theory regarding developing countries. The paper explores what factors turn entrepreneurs into Sustainopreneurs. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - Research design is followed by the interviews from fifteen sustainopreneurs and entrepreneurs who are actively involved in green businesses. The interviews have been analyzed by categorization method to find out factors which turned them to be sustainable entrepreneurs. Results - The results have shown the factors which helps in leading entrepreneurs to become Sustainopreneurs. These factors are present in the entrepreneurs which lead them to start a venture for a cause. Conclusions - The proposed findings are helpful in further study of Sustainopreneurship and the fact that there should be some steps taken by policy makers, and sustainopreneurs to promote eco-businesses.
