  • Current VOD embodiment way is embodied using PC base. However, achieved research that embody this by Embedded System that PC base is not. OS of this system used WindowsCE.net and x86core used having built-ined SC1200(National company's Geode's familys) by CPU and memory used 128MByte SDRAM. Used Mpeg Decoder for processing of video data, and used Enthernet Controller for Internet. Composite, component, S-Video of video output section of this system is and select one of these and connect on TV and did so that get into action. Actuality implementation manufactured necessary BIOS, WinodwsCE.NET Porting, DeviceDriver in system development and necessary simple Application in action confirmation, and Video Player used Window Media Player had included to WindowsCE.net. Therefore, treatise that see to supplement shortcomings of VOD service been embodying in current PC in Embedded System's form embody that there is sense do can.

Isolation and Characterization of Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria Pantoea Species as a Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (식물 생장 촉진 활성을 가진 인산분해 미생물 Pantoea 종의 분리 및 특성 규명)

  • Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) have gained worldwide importance and acceptance due to their agricultural benefits. These microorganisms are potential tools for sustainable agriculture, with effects on plant growth, biofertilization, induced systemic resistance, and biocontrol of plant pathogens. In this study, four different Pantoea species were isolated from field soil, and their plant growth-promoting characteristics were studied. Based on 16S rDNA gene sequencing analyses, the se were grouped into Pantoea ananatis, Pantoea citrea, Pantoea dispersa, Pantoea vagans and named as Pa1, Pc1, Pd1, Pv1, respectively. All of these strains have their ability for solubilization of insoluble phosphate depending on pH decrease at the range around pH 5 at 1days after inoculation and production of plant hormone indole acetic acid (IAA) with 85.3±16.3 μg/ml of Pa1, 183.9±16.8 μg/ml of Pc1, 28.8±17.3 μg/ml of Pd1 and 114.1±16.5 μg/ml of Pv1, respectively. Pa1, Pc1 and Pd1 also have high activity for production of gibberellin (GA3) hormone with 331.1±19.2 μg/ml of Pa1, 288.5±16.8 μg/ml of Pc1, 309.2±18.2 μg/ml of Pd1, but Pv1 does not. Furthermore, all these species have significantly promoted the growth of the lettuce seedling plants at the range around 32~37% for fresh weight and 10~15% for shoot length enhancement, so that these microbe could be used as a potential bio-fertilizer agents.

  • A stuey to investigate the perception characteristics of color and brightness was conducted in a combined PC and TV monitor, The objective of this study is to suggest user's favorite color temperature in PC mode and user's favorite contrast in TV mode. Investigated factors were monitor coating(coatiog vs. non-coation)and screen brightness (30fL vs. 35fL)in first experiment and monitor coating and pucture movement(static vs. dynamic) in second experiment. The first experiment was conducted in TV mode. Twenty-three subjects (male 12, female 11) perticipated in this experiment. In first experiment, average color temperatures were about 8000K in all experimental conditions. In addition, there was significant difference between coating and non-coating screen at 0.1 level. In second experiment, average contrasts were obtained in all esperimental conditions. There was significant difference between coating and ndn-coating screen at 0.05 level, In addition, there was significant difference between static picture and dynamic picture at 0.1 level

External Morphology and Numerical Taxonomy among Habitat of Allium victorialis var. platyphyllum (산마늘의 자생지별 외부형태 및 수리분류학적 연구)

  • Taxonomic studies in external morphology, principal component analysis and cluster analysis were conducted to understand the intraspecific relationship among three habitats (Jirisan, Odaesan and Ulleungdo) of allium voctorialis var. platyphyllum. External morphology such as bulb color, leaf blade length and width, petiole length, total leaf length, peduncle length, perianth lobe length and width, length of anther and filament were useful characters for identification of poplations in three habitats. The results obtained based on the principal component (Pc) analysis of treated 72 OTUs(included outgroup) were divided into three groups by the PC 1 ,2,3 and the sums of contributions for the total variance were 84.1%(PC1 51.0%, PC2 24.9% and PC3 8.2%, respectively). In cluster analysis by the UPGMA and Ward's methods , there was similarities in the compostion of clustered taxa, and only Ulleungdo population was distinctly identified from population of other two habitats.

Photochemical and Thermal Solvolysis of Picolyl Chlorides

  • Photochemical and thermal solvolysis of 2,3,4-picolyl chlorides (2,3,4-PC) were studied in amine solvents and the results were correlated with the electronic structures calculated by PPP-SCF-MO CI method. Activation parameters show that the thermal solvolysis of PC is $S_N2$ type rcaction. The rates of thermal reaction in pyridine or t-butylamine solvent decrease in the order of 2-PC > 3-PC > 4-PC. These results are consistent with the predictions based on the electron densities of picolyl chlorides. In photosolvolysis, the same products as those of thermal reactions were obtained. The results indicate that photochemical solvolysis undergoes through heterolytic cleavage. Relative quantum yields of photosolvolysis of 2,3,4-picolyl chlorides in t-butylamine solvent were determined to be 0.73, 1, and 0.50 respectively. These results are in good agreement with the electron densities of the excited triplet state of picolyl chlorides.

Bee Venom Inhibits PC-3 Cell Proliferation Through Induction of Apoptosis Via Inactivation of NF-${\kappa}B$ (Bee Venom이 NF-${\kappa}B$의 불활성화에 의한 세포자멸사를 통해 PC-3 세포의 증식에 미치는 영향)

  • 목적 : 이 연구는 봉약침의 봉독과 그 주요성분인 멜리틴이 NF-${\kappa}B$의 활성억제와 세포자멸사 관련 단백질의 발현 조절을 통하여 세포자멸사를 유도함으로써 전립선 암세포주인 PC-3 세포의 성장을 억제하는지를 확인하고 해당 기전을 살펴보고자 하였다. 방법 : 봉독이나 멜리틴을 처리한 후 PC-3의 성장억제를 관찰하기 위해 WST-1 assay, CCK-8 assay를 시행하였고, 세포자멸사 조절단백질의 변동 관찰에는 western blot analysis를 시행하였고, 세포자멸사와 연관된 NF-${\kappa}B$의 활성 변화를 관찰하기 위해 EMSA를 시행하였으며, PC-3에서 봉독이나 멜리틴과 NF-${\kappa}B$의 상호작용을 관찰하기 위해 transient transfection assay를 시행하여 세포생존율과 NF-${\kappa}B$의 활성 변동을 측정하였다. 결과 : PC-3 세포에 봉독이나 멜리틴을 처리한 후, 전립선암세포의 성장, 세포자멸사의 유발, 세포자멸사 관련 단백질의 발현, NF-${\kappa}B$의 활성, NF-${\kappa}B$의 p50, $IKK{\alpha}$, $IKK{\beta}$ 치환 후 NF-${\kappa}B$의 활성과 PC-3 세포 증식에 미치는 영향을 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. PC-3 세포에서 봉독이나 멜리틴을 처리한 후 세포자멸사가 유도되어 세포성장이 억제되었고, 세포자멸사 관련 단백질 중 분리된 PARP, caspase-3, -9는 유의한 증가를, Bcl-2, XIAP, cXIAP2는 유의한 감소를 나타내었다. 2. PC-3 세포에서 봉독이나 멜리틴을 처리한 후 NF-${\kappa}B$의 활성은 유의한 감소를 나타내었다. 3. PC-3 세포에서 NF-${\kappa}B$의 p50, $IKK{\alpha}$, $IKK{\beta}$를 치환하여 작용기를 없애고 봉독이나 멜리틴을 처리하였을 경우에도 NF-${\kappa}B$의 활성이 유의한 감소를 나타내었다. 결론 : 이상의 결과는 봉독이나 멜리틴이 NF-${\kappa}B$의 활성 억제를 통하여 인간 전립선암세포주인 PC-3의 세포자멸사를 유발함으로써 증식억제 효과가 있음을 입증한 것으로, 전립선암의 예방과 치료에 대한 효과적인 치료제 개발에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

  • 기계공학 교육에 있어서 PC의 활용에 대해 평소 필자가 생각했던 몇 가지 사항을 두서없이 기술 하였으나 여기서 다시 한번 강조하고자 하는 것은 전체 공학분야에 있어서의 PC의 역할이 더욱 더 증대될 것이 확실하다는 점이며 이러한 상황하에서는 기계공학 교육에 있어서도 이를 적극 적으로 대처해야 할 필요성이 있다. 이제 21세기가 목전에 다가왔고 세계의 기술전쟁이 한층 더 치열해지는 이 시점에 있어서 우리 모두는 보다 효과적이고 실질적인 새로운 교육환경의 조성에 절대로 인색해서는 안될 것이며 이런 관점에서 우리 모두가 PC를 기계공학 교육에 적극 활용 하기를 바란다.

  • 컴퓨터 분야에서 하드웨어의 눈부신 발전과 이용할 수 있는 다양한 소프트웨어의 개발로, 자동차 개발 업무에서는 개발 일정 단축, 제품 품질 향상, 생산성 향상 및 비용 절감을 이룩하기 위해서 일찍부터 컴퓨터를 활용해 왔다. 일반적으로 자동차 산업에서는 모든 데이터를 중앙 집중적인 관 리와 타 부문과의 공유가 필요했기 때문에 대형 메인프레임 컴퓨터나 워크스테이션을 사용하여 대부분의 업무를 수행하여 왔으나, 하부 업무의 분산 처리와 개인용 컴퓨터(PC)의 뛰어난 경제성 과 사용의 용이성으로 인하여 급격히 PC의 적용이 여러 분야에 확대되어 가고 있다. 이 글에서는 PC를 자동차 개발에 어떻게 활용되고 있나를 몇 개 분야로 나누어서 설명하고자 한다.

Growth of $Cd_{1-x}Zn_xS $ Thin films Using Hot Wall Epitaxy Method and Their Photoconductive Characteristics (HWE에 의한 $Cd_{1-x}Zn_xS $박막의 성장과 광전도 특성)

  • The Cd1-xZnxS thin films were grown on the Si(100) wafers by a hot wall epitaxy method (HWE). the source and substrate temperature are 600℃ and 440℃, respectively. The crystalline structure of epilayers was investigated by double crystal X-ray diffraction (DCXD). Hall effect on the sample was measured by the van der Pauw method and the carrier density and mobility dependence of Hall characteristics on temperature was also studied. In order to explore the applicability as a photoconductive cell, we measured the sensitivity (γ), the ratio of photocurrent to darkcurrent (pc/dc), maximum allowable power dissipation (MAPD), spectral response and response time. The results indicated that the best photoconductive characteristic were observed in the Cd0.53Zn0.47S samples annealed in Cu vapor comparing with in Cd, Se, air and vacuum vapour. Then we obtained the sensitivity of 0.99, the value of pc/dc of 1.65 × 107, the MAPD of 338mW, and the rise and decay time of 9.7 ms and 9.3 ms, respectively.

Luminosity function and size distribution of HII regions in M51

  • We present a study of HII regions in M51 using HST/ACS images taken as part of the Hubble Heritage Program. We found about 19,600 HII regions in M51 with $H_{\alpha}$ luminosity in the range of $L=10^{35.5}-10^{39.0}\;erg\;s^{-1}$. The $H_{\alpha}$ luminosity function of HII regions (HII LF) in M51 is well represented by a double power law with its index ${\alpha}=-2.25{\pm}0.02$ for the bright part and ${\alpha}=-1.42{\pm}0.01$ for the faint part, separated at a break point $L=10^{37.1}\;erg\;s^{-1}$. Comparison with simulated HII LFs suggests that this break is caused by the transition of HII region ionizing sources, from low-mass clusters (including several OB stars) to more massive clusters (including several tens of OB stars). The HII LFs with L < $10^{37.1}\;erg\;s^{-1}$ are found to have different slopes for different parts in M51: the HII LF for the interarm region is steeper than those for the arm and the nuclear regions. This observed difference in HII LFs can be explained by evolutionary effects: HII regions in the interarm region are relatively older than those in the other parts of M51. The size distribution of the HII regions is fitted by a double power law with a break at D = 30 pc. The power law index for the small HII regions with 15 pc < D < 30 pc is ${\alpha}=-1.78{\pm}0.04$, whereas ${\alpha}=-5.04{\pm}0.08$ for the large HII region with 30 pc < D < 110 pc. The power law indices of the size distribution are related with those of HII LF, and the relation between the luminosities and sizes of HII regions is fitted well by $L{\propto}D^{3.04{\pm}}$.
