초저지연 저장장치를 위한 적응형 폴링 선택 기법 (An Adaptive Polling Selection Technique for Ultra-Low Latency Storage Systems)

  • Recently, ultra-low latency flash storage devices such as Z-SSD and Optane SSD were introduced with the significant technological improvement in the storage devices which provide much faster response time than today's other NVMe SSDs. With such ultra-low latency, $10{\mu}s$, storage devices the cost of context switch could be an overhead during interrupt-driven I/O completion process. As an interrupt-driven I/O completion process could bring an interrupt handling overhead, polling or hybrid-polling for the I/O completion is known to perform better. In this paper, we analyze tail latency problem in a polling process caused by process scheduling in data center environment where multiple applications run simultaneously under one system and we introduce our adaptive polling selection technique which dynamically selects efficient processing method between two techniques according to the system's conditions.

Mechanistic Studies of the Solvolyses of Cyclohexanesulfonyl Chloride

  • In this study, the solvolysis of cyclohexanesulfonyl chloride (1) was studied by kinetics in ethanol-water, methanol-water, acetone-water, and 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol (TFE)-water binary solvent systems. The rate constants were applied to the extended Grunwald-Winstein equation, to obtain the values of m = 0.41 and l = 0.81. These values suggested $S_N2$ mechanism in which bond formation is more important than bond breaking in the transition state (TS). Relatively small activation enthalpy values (11.6 to $14.8kcal{\cdot}mol^{-1}$), the large negative activation entropy values (-29.7 to $-38.7cal{\cdot}mol^{-1}{\cdot}K^{-1}$) and the solvent kinetic isotope effects (SKIE, 2.29, 2.30), the solvolyses of the cyclohexanesulfonyl chloride (1) proceeds via the $S_N2$ mechanism.

  • The modern large-scale surveys and state-of-the-art cosmological simulations produce various kinds of big data composed of millions and billions of galaxies. Inevitably, we need to adopt modern Big Data platforms to properly handle such large-scale data sets. In my talk, I will briefly introduce the de facto standard of modern Big Data platform, Apache Spark, and present some examples to demonstrate how Apache Spark can be utilized for solving data-driven astronomical problems.

  • 보현산 천문대 1.8m 망원경과 고분산 에셀 분광기 BOES(BOao Echelle Spectrograph)를 이용한 공생별 AG Draconis와 UV Aurigae의 분광학적 특성을 파악한다. 중성수소 Balmer 선과 주요 원소에 의한 방출선들의 특징과 변화를 살펴보며, 두 별의 활동성 및 등급에 따른 Balmer 선의 변화 양상에 대해 알아보고자 한다.

  • This paper is about the method to improve the IDGPS system using receiver which is not aligned to GPS time. Transmitted data between server and user is constructed in PDDM of IS-801 rule. Pseudorange is overflowed in case of using receiver unaligned GPS time. And satellite position is miscalculated because earth rotating effect is not corrected. To solve this problem, when Pseudorange measurement is over the maximum range, the Pseudorange measurement is reset. And after the rough user position and transmit time is calculated, the precise Pseudorange measurement is calculated.

  • Phospoinositide-specific phospholipase C (PLC)는 세포막의 phosphoinositide를 분해하여 inositol phosphates와 diacylglycerol을 전달하는데 핵심적인 효소이다. PLC는 분자량과 1차구조의 비교에 의하여 type (PLC-$\beta$, ${\gamma}$, $\delta$)로 구분되며, 각 type마다 2-4종의 subtype이 존재하고 PLC isozyme들에 대한 현재가지의 각종 신호 전달 및 조절에 대한 연구를 종합하면: (1) PLC-$\beta$ type은 G-protein과 연결되어 신호를 전달받고, (2) PLC-${\gamma}$ type은growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase에 의하여 인산화 되어 활성화됨으로, 세포의 성장 신호를 전달하며. (3) PLC-$\delta$ type에 대한 신호 전달이나 조절은 밝혀지지 않고 있다.
