SWMM-LID was calibrated with flow monitoring data in LHI to evaluate runoff after LID application. The flow rate in the B basin was estimated to be 0.94 and 6.15 for O/S and $D_v$, respectively. In the A and C basins, the difference between the observed and simulated data was greater than in the B basin. As a result of runoff reduction efficiency by the application of LID facilities, the change of infiltration increased from 34.6 % to 45.8 % in the entire watershed, and the runoff decreased from 58.8 % to 46.3 %. In the runoff reduction of each LID facility, rain garden E showed the highest effect with 99.9 % and bioretention B showed the lowest effect with 27.5 %. In order to evaluate the efficiency of each LID facility, a comparison is made between the pore volume (V) of the LID and the catchment area (A). The runoff showed a runoff reduction effect of about 70 % above the 0.1 volume/area (V/A) value. As a result of examining the runoff reduction with LID facilities by the LID module of SWMM, a reasonable design is possible by reflecting the appropriate LID volume to drainage area.

Due to their wide range of application, deterministic comprehensive hydrologic models using digital computers have been developed in all countries of the world and researches are being undertaken for their appropriate applications. The aim of this study has been to demonstrate the practical implementation of a physically based distributed hydrologic model, the USDAHL-74 model and to investigate its ability to simulate the long term estimate of water balance quantities in a Korean mountainous watershed. Application of the model to Dochuk watershed indicates the following results. 1.Since the USDAHL-74 model includes all the major components of the hydrologic cycle in agricultural watersheds, thus is comprehnsive, the model seems to have a wide range of application from the fact that simulation results obtained are not only runoff volumes m various time units but their spatial variation as well as even soil moisture within the watershed. 2.An approximate calibration to determine the parameter values in the model using various data obtained from D0chuk shed shows that the simulation error of yearly runoff volume is only 0.6 % and a correlation coefficient between observed daily runoff volume and simulated one is 0.91 in all calibrated period.3.As a verification test of the model, runoff volumes are simulated using 1986 year data without changing the parameter values determined by 1985 year data. The tests show that the USDAHL-74 model is a flexible tool and that realistic production to simulate the long term estimate of runoff in Korean mountainous watershed could be obtained using only a short period of calibration.4. Despite of the encouraging results, there still remain minor problems concerning the practical application of the model to improve the result of simulations. Some of these are the small descrepancies between observed and simulated daily runoff volume appeared in the vicinity of peaks and the recession of1 the daily hydrographs and the model performance for the frozen ground and melting process in the model. 5. Alough the use of parameter with physical significance and the ability to improve calibrations on the basis of physical reasoning represents advantages in the simulation for ungaged watersheds, further researches are needed to use the USDAHL-74 mode to simulate runoff in ungaged watersheds.

Recently, GSIS is introduced in the various fields. Especially in hydrology, the useful of GSIS is emphasized to analyze parameters, which are necessary for the analysis of watershed. In this paper, to estimate the direct runoff volume, I used the SCS-CN method which was useful to calculate direct runoff volume in a watershed that was not observed. But because SCS-CN method must treat a great number of spatial data, if we use the GSIS, we can treat numbers of the data easily. GSIS databases is constructed by using the data which is related to soil type, landuse. And runoff curve number was estimated by means of these databases in the study area. Also, the area of covered each subbasin rainfall gauge station was estimated by thiessen polygon network technique. The direct runoff volume was calculated by these subbasin area to the rainfall gauge station. I knew, from this study, that using GSIS, I can calculate parameters needed in direct runoff volume analysis, fast, exactly.
After Disaster Impact Assessment(DIA) Program was particed, the wide variety of hydrological data are estimated by introducing the concept of critical storm duration to calculate the stormwater impoundments as the alternative of increasing runoff due to many developments. Critical storm duration is varied by a lot of hydraulic structures, drainage characteristics, temporal distribution of design rainfall, return period, and runoff models. In this study the methods of estimating the proper volume to design the stormwater impoundments are proposed to determine the required volume by comparing and analyzing the maximum stormwater impoundments in accordance with the impoundment volume and rainfall duration by using the concept of storage ratio presented in the existing studies. The methods of determining the critical storm duration of design rainfall which cause the maximum load from the runoff hydrograph will be studied as analyzing rainfall-runoff using the various runoff models and observed data.

Using artificial rainfall simulator, the soil loss, which is deemed as most cause of muddy water problem among Non-point source(NPS) pollutant, was studied by the analysis of direct runoff flow, groundwater runoff, and groundwater storage properties concerned with rainfall intensity, slope of area, and land cover. The direct runoff showed increasing tendency in both straw covered and bared boxes which are 5%, 10%, and 20% sloped respectively. Also the direct runoff volume from straw covered surface boxes were much lower than bared surface boxes. It's deemed as that the infiltration capacity of straw covered surface boxes were increased, because the surface sealing by fine material of soil surface didn't occurred due to the straw covering. Under the same rainfall intensity and slope condition, 2.4 ${\sim}$ 8.2 times of sediment yield were occurred from bared surface boxes more than straw covered surface boxes. The volume of infiltrated were increased due to straw cover, the direct runoff flow were decreased with decreasing of tractive force in surface. To understand of relationship the rate of direct runoff flow, groundwater runoff, and groundwater storage by the rainfall intensity, slope, and land cover, the statistical test was performed. It shows good relationship between most of factors, expect between the rate of groundwater storage and rainfall intensity.

With urbanization in many countries, many pervious areas are being converted into impervious areas. These land use changes cause many negative impacts on runoff and water quality in the areas. Especially runoff volume and peak runoff are increasing with urbanization. In addition to the increased runoff, more pollutant transports to the downstream areas. For these reasons, Low Impact Development (LID) are nowadays being introduced in urban planning. For environment-friendly and economical urban development, the LID Integrated Management Practices (IMPs) are applied in various urban development. However, exact effects on runoff and water quality of various LID IMPs are not assessed with proper LID evaluation technique. Thus, the SWMM (Storm Water Management Model) 5.0 model was slightly modified to simulate the effect of infiltration manhole on runoff and water quality. For comparison of runoff and TSS (Total Suspended Solids) from the study area (26.5 ha), three scenarios were made in this study. It was found that runoff volume, peak runoff, and TSS could be reduced with infiltration manholes and pervious pavements to some degree. Although, there are many limitations in the analysis of LID effects on runoff and TSS, similar trends shown in this study would be expected with site-specific LID IMPs. Thus, it is strongly recommended that various site-specific LID IMPs, such as infiltration facilities, should be applied as much as possible for environment-friendly urban planning.
This study aims at the determination of the coefficienties of runoff and infiltration affecting runoff. The rating curve is more available than the peak flood runoff to determine flood control plan of flood control reservoir and the volume of hydroelectric power plant, or to make multipurpose dam. In hydrologic analysis and design, it is necessary to develop relations between precipitation and runoff, possible using some of the factors affecting runoff as parameters. In order to calculate the runoff discharge, the runoff process constituting elements are divided to the surface runoff, the subsurface runoff and the groundwater runoff. By comparing the computed hydrograph with the measured hydrograph, determinned the watershed TANK Model constant Varying the tank model constant for approximating the computed hydrograph to the measured hydrograph.

Urban development of basin causes increasing runoff volume and peak flowrate and shortening in time of concentration, which may cause frequent flooding downstream. An infiltration facilities are operated as a method of reducing flood discharge of urban rivers and peak flowrate. There are various types of infiltration facilities like infiltration trench and porous pavement. In this study, runoff reduction effect due to installation of infiltration facilities are performed and focused on $0.18km^2$ residential area of Ok-kye dong and $0.67km^2$ industrial area of Gong-dan dong in Gumi City. The analysis is fulfilled with comparison of total runoff volume and runoff reduction volume by using the WinSLAMM and the relation equation between area ratio of infiltration facilities and ratio of runoff reduction are derived and peak flow reduction effect for installation of infiltration facilities is analyzed.

This study proposes an experimental formula for cumulative runoff analysis in building roof for on-site rainwater management. We can not find an appropriate method for roof runoff analysis because of its small area scale. A new runoff equation formula for rainfall depth(D) and cumulative runoff volume(V) is developed on roof runoff conditions. Reliability of the formula is verified with field experimental runoff monitoring for two years in two buildings of rainwater management system. This experimental runoff formula can root the cumulative runoff volume from roof area and rainfall depth, then develop reasonable inflow condition for rainwater retention tank design.
Lake Youngrang is a lagoon whose effluent flows into the East Sea. Because two resort towns and two golf courses are situated at the lake basin, many tourists visit this area. Stormwater runoff surveys were carried out for the eight storm events from 2004 to 2005 in the eutrophic lake watershed to give a basic data for the diffuse pollution control of the lake. Dimensionless mass-volume curves indicating the distribution of pollutant mass vs. volume were used to analyze the first flush phenomenon. The mass-volume curves were fitted with a power function and polynomial equation curves. The regression analysis showed that the polynomial equation curves were better than the power function in representing the tendency of the first flush, and second degree polynomial equation curves indicated the strength of the first flush effectively.
