Changes in climate have largely increased concentrated heavy rainfall, which in turn is causing enormous damages to humans and properties. Therefore, the exact relationship and the spatial variability analysis of hydrometeorological elements and characteristic factors is critical elements to reduce the uncertainty in rainfall -runoff model. In this study, radar rainfall grid resolution and grid resolution depending on the topographic factor in rainfall - runoff models were how to respond. In this study, semi-distribution of rainfall-runoff model using the model ModClark of Inje, Gangwon Naerin watershed was used as Gwangdeok RADAR data. The completed ModClark model was calibrated for use DEM of cell size of 30m, 150m, 250m, 350m was chosen for the application, and runoff simulated by the RADAR rainfall data of 500m, 1km, 2km, 5km, 10km from 14 to 17 on July, 2006. According to the resolution of each grid, in order to compare simulation results, the runoff hydrograph has been made and the runoff has also been simulated. As a result, it was highly runoff simulation if the cell size is DEM 30m~150m, RADAR rainfall 500m~2km for peak flow and runoff volume. In the statistical analysis results, if every DEM cell size are 500m and if RADAR rainfall cell size is 30m, relevance of model was higher. Result of sensitivity assessment, high index DEM give effect to result of distributed model. Recently, rainfall -runoff analysis is used lumped model to distributed model. So, this study is expected to make use of the efficiently decision criteria for configurated models.

We examined the flow characteristics by direct runoff and base flow in a headwater stream during observed 59 rainfall events of flood season (June~September) from 2017 to 2020 yrs. Total precipitation ranged from 5.0 to 400.8 mm, total runoff ranged from 0.1 to 176.5 mm, and runoff ratio ranged from 0.1 to 242.9% during the rainfall events. From hydrograph separation, flow duration in base flow (139.3 days) was tended to be longer than direct runoff (78.3 days), while the contribution of direct runoff in total runoff (54.2%) was greater than base flow (45.8%). The total amount and peak flow of direct runoff and base flow had the highest correlation (p<0.05) with total precipitation and duration of rain among rainfall and soil moisture conditions. Dominant rainfall events for the total amount and peak flow of base flow were generated under 5.0~200.4 and 10.5~110.5 mm in total precipitation. However, when direct runoff occurred as dominant rainfall events, total amount and peak flow were increased by 267.4~400.8 and 169.0~400.8 mm in total precipitation. Therefore, the unique aspects of our study design permitted us to draw inferences about flow characteristic analysis with the contribution of base flow and/or direct runoff in the total runoff in a headwater stream. Furthermore, it will be useful for the long-term strategy of effective water management for integrated surface-groundwater in the forested headwater stream.

Runoff Characteristics has been Analysis Using geomorphologic Instantaneous Unit Hydrograph(GIUH) and geomorphoclimatic unit hydrograph(GCUH) on an ungaged vary small basin about $5km^2$ scale in Kyungbuk gampo area. First, we estimated hydrology Factor using Geographic Information System(GIS) tool and then, calculated the characteristic velocity using the real rainfall-runoff data. It is compared with several velocities derived from GCUH theory and several other concentration time formulae. Kerby and Braby-Williams seems to be more applicable as characteristic velocity formula. Second, We compared the GCUH peak discharge with the probable flood, also compared the unit hydrograph as like the Clark, the Nakayasu and the S.C.S and GCUH with the observed discharge using the real rainfall events. The comparison results showed that GCUH could be applicable on an ungaged vary small basin. We expected that the result can be used as for estimation of a flash flood standard rainfall as well as emergency management plan.

Non-point source pollutant is exerting a serious influence on the water quality, since the characteristics of stormwater runoff is varied by the land usage pattern of an area and a basin, and all sorts of pollutants on the earth in rainfall flow into the urban stream. This study estimated EMC of each pollutant to investigate the characteristics of stormwater runoff by separating the urban area as the housing area and industrial area. As a result of the analysis, the first flush effect occurred in the non-point source pollutant of housing area and industrial area, as the runoff concentration gradually reduces after it rapidly increases in the initial rainfall, and in case of the non-point source pollutant the control of first stage rain-water. It is considered to require the continuous follow-up study such as the scale of long-term rainfall event and water quality data, land usage pattern by GIS method, database of topography and geological features, and so forth.
Litter wastes on highway runoff are gradually being considered one of the major pollutants of concern in protecting the integrity of receiving waters for beneficial use. The California State Water Resources Control Board has identified in their 303(d) list at least 36 water bodies where trash or litter is considered a pollutant of concern. The first TMDL adopted by the Region 4 (Los Angeles area) of the California State Water Quality Control Board was for trash in the Los Angeles River. The first flush characteristic study was developed to obtain first flush water quality and litter data from representative stormwater runoff from standard highway drainage outfalls in the Los Angeles area. Total captured gross pollutants in stormwater runoff were monitored at six Southern California highway sites over two years. The gross pollutants were 90% vegetation and 10% litter. Approximately 50% of the litter was composed of biodegradable materials. The event mean concentrations show an increasing trend with antecedent dry days and a decreasing trend with total runoff volume or total rainfall. Event mean concentrations were ranged 0.0021 to 0.259g/L for wet gross pollutants and 0.0001 to 0.027g/L for wet litters. The first flush phenomenon was evaluated and the impacts of various parameters such as rainfall intensity, drainage area, peak flow rate, and antecedent dry period on litter volume and loading rates were evaluated. First flush phenomenon was generally observed for litter concentrations, but was not apparent with litter mass loading rates. Litter volume and loading rates appear to be directly related to peak storm intensity, antecedent dry days and total flow volume.
This study is intended to analyze and evaluate the effects of Seomjingang Dam and Soyanggang Dam Catchment on water circulation in order to examine water balance change of watershed by climate change. Obviously, air temperature and precipitation showed a gradually increasing trend for the past 30 years; evapotranspiration vary in areas and increasing annual average air temperature is not always proportional to increasing evapotranspiration. Based on Penman-FAO24, climatic water balance methods and measured values are shown to be significantly related with each other and to be available in Korea. It is certainly recognized that increasing annual rainfall volume leads to increasing annual runoff depth; for fluctuation in annual runoff rates, there are some difference in changes in measured values and calculated values. It is presumably early to determine that climate changes has a significant effect on runoff characteristic at dam catchment. It is widely known that climate changes are expected to cause many difficulties in water resources and disaster management. To take appropriate measures, deeper understanding is necessary for climatological conditions and variability of hydrology and to have more careful prospection and to accumulate highly reliable knowledge would be prerequisites for hydrometric network.

The radar relationship was estimated for the selected rainfall event at Yeongchun station within Chungjudam basin where the discharge record was the range of from 1,000 CMS to 9,000 CMS. By calibrating the rainfall coefficient parameter estimated by radar relationship in small hydrology basin, rainfall with the topography properties was calculated. Three different rainfall estimation methods were compared:(1) radar relationship method (2) Thiessen method (3) Isohyetal method (4) Inverse distance method. Basin model was built by applying HEC-GeoHMS which uses digital elevation model to extract hydrological characteristic and generate river network. The proposed basin model was used as an input to HEC-HMS to build a runoff model. The runoff estimation model applying radar data showed the good result. It is proposed that the radar data would produce more rapid and accurate runoff forecasting especially in the case of the partially concentrated rainfall due to the atmospheric change. The proposed radar relationship could efficiently estimate the rainfall on the study area(Chungjudam basin).
The method of selecting an existing flood hazard area via a numerical model requires considerable time and effort. In this regard, this study proposes a method for selecting flood vulnerable areas through topographic analysis based on a surface runoff mechanism to reduce the time and effort required. Flood vulnerable areas based on runoff mechanisms refer to those areas that are advantageous in terms of the flow accumulation characteristics of rainfall-runoff water at the surface, and they generally include lowlands, mild slopes, and rivers. For the analysis, a digital topographic map of the target area (Seoul) was employed. In addition, in the topographic analysis, eight topographic factors were considered, namely, the elevation, slope, profile and plan curvature, topographic wetness index (TWI), stream power index, and the distances from rivers and manholes. Moreover, receiver operating characteristic analysis was conducted between the topographic factors and actual inundation trace data. The results revealed that four topographic factors, namely, elevation, slope, TWI, and distance from manholes, explained the flooded area well. Thus, when a flood vulnerable area is selected, the prioritization method for various factors as proposed in this study can simplify the topographical analytical factors that contribute to flooding.
The National Park should be preserved as described in the regulation. However, the development has resulted in degrading the environment in the park. Especially, the collective facility area has been developed for the commercial benefit rather than for the preservation. So, it is necessary to figure out the impact of the development plan proposed. Thus, the purpose of this study is to explore the hydrologic effects due to the collective facility area development in the National Park. The study site is the second collective facility area of Mt. Kyeryong National Park. The analysis of hydrologic effects due to the development has been carried out using the GIS in this study. The Rational Method and Soil Conservation Service(SCS) were used to estimate the runoff volume. During this procedure, GIS software, ARC/INFO was used to integrate, manipulate, and calculate the attribute value of a number of ploygons which represen each land use characteristic. A program was written to compute the attribute value of each polygon and to estimate the difference of peaktime runoff volume before and after development.
