Development of distributed simulation environment must be required in order to simulate the distributed models regionally and inter-operate with running simulations individually, Simulation based on DEVS formalism is difficult to simulate the distributed models. DEVS formalism is modeling methodology. To specify model, this formalism separates behavior and structure, therefore it is able to design complex model easily. HLA is standard framework of distribute simulation environment, It is defined to facilitate the interoperability and the reusability. RTI (Run Time Infrastructure) is software that provides common service to simulation systems and implementation of the HLA Interface Specification. Method of implementation is that modules cooperating with RTI are added to simulator on DEVS simulation environment. On the DEVS simulation environment (DEVS-Obj -C) that already developed, Highest class of abstract simulator uses service that RTI provide, then This environment is able to change DEVS model into Federate and run distribute simulation that inter-operates with the RTI. Because this distributed simulation environment includes convenience of modeling that obtains through the DEVS formalism and accompanies HLA standard, this environment make it possible to simulate with_ complex systems and heterogeneous simulations
The study makes an attempt to investigate the causal nexus between carbon dioxide emissions, GDP per capita, industrialization and population with an evidence from Rwanda by employing a time series data spanning from 1965 to 2011 using the autoregressive distributed lag model. Evidence from the study shows that carbon dioxide emissions, GDP per capita, industrialization and population are co-integrated and have a long-run equilibrium relationship. Evidence from the Granger-causality shows a unidirectional causality running from industrialization to GDP per capita, population to carbon dioxide emissions, population to GDP per capita and population to industrialization. Evidence from the long-run elasticities has policy implications for Rwanda; a 1% increase in GDP per capita will decrease carbon dioxide emissions by 1.45%, while a 1% increase in industrialization will increase carbon dioxide emissions by 1.64% in the long-run. Increasing economic growth in Rwanda will therefore reduce environmental pollution in the long-run which appears to support the validity of the environmental Kuznets curve hypothesis. However, industrialization leads to more emissions of carbon dioxide, which reduces environment, health and air quality. It is noteworthy that the Rwandan Government promotes sustainable industrialization, which improves the use of clean and environmentally sound raw materials, industrial process and technologies.
Control of potable water treatment plant (PWTP) is nowadays based on experience. The aim of this article is to show that model based control of treatment process is more efficient than process operation based on experience. Stimela environment is used for modeling of processes of potable water treatment. Application of the model was conducted on PWTP "Crkvice" in Zenica (BiH). This plant has used conventional rapid sand filters. By effective application of the model it is determined the optimal filter run time for different input turbidity of raw water. This results in the possibility of reducing the consumption of backwashing water, lower costs for its pumping and reducing the amount of coagulants. In the existing practice, based on experience, these benefits are not used.

Maximizing the productivity in reactive ion etching, early detection of process equipment anomaly became crucial in current high volume semiconductor manufacturing environment. To address the importance of the process fault detection for productivity, support vector machines (SVMs) is employed to assist the decision to determine process faults in real-time. SVMs for eleven steps of etching runs are established with data acquired from baseline runs, and they are further verified with the data from controlled (acceptable) and perturbed (unacceptable) runs. Then, each SVM is further utilized for the fault detection purpose utilizing control limits which is well understood in statistical process control chart. Utilizing SVMs, fault detection of reactive ion etching process is demonstrated with zero false alarm rate of the controlled runs on a run to run basis.
The demand for electricity has a considerable impact on various energy sectors since electricity is generated from various energy sources. This paper attempts to estimate the electricity demand function and obtain some quantitative information on price and income elasticities of the demand. To this end, we apply a lagged dependent variable model to derive long-run as well as short-run elasticities using the time-series data over the period 1991-2014. Our dependent variable is annual electricity demand. The independent variables include constant term, real price of electricity, and real gross domestic product. The results show that the short-run price and income elasticities of the electricity demand are estimated to be -0.142 and 0.866, respectively. They are statistically significant at the 5% level. That is, the electricity demand is in-elastic with respect to price and income changes in the short-run. The long-run price and income elasticities of the electricity demand are calculated to be -0.210 and 1.287, respectively, which are also statistically meaningful at the 5% level. The electricity demand is still in-elastic with regard to price change in the long-run. However, the electricity demand is elastic regarding income change in the long-run. Therefore, this indicates that the effect of demand-side management policy through price-control is restrictive in both the short- and long-run. The growth in electricity demand following income growth is expected to be more remarkable in the long-run than in the short-run.
The application of advanced oxidation for the treatment of oil refinery wastewater under UV radiation by using nanoparticles of titanium dioxide was investigated. Synthetic wastewater prepared from phenol crystals; Power Glide SAE40 motor vehicle oil and water was used. Response surface methodology (RSM) based on the Box-Behnken design was employed to design the experimental runs, optimize and study the interaction effects of the operating parameters including catalyst concentration, run time and airflow rate to maximize the degradation of oil (SOG) and phenol. The analysis of variance and the response models developed were used to evaluate the data obtained at a 95% confidence level. The use of the RSM demonstrated the graphical relationship that exists between individual factors and their interactive effects on the response, as compared to the one factor at time approach. The obtained optimum conditions of photocatalytic degradation are the catalyst concentration of 2 g/L, the run time of 30 min and the airflow rate of 1.04 L/min. Under the optimum conditions, a 68% desirability performance was obtained, representing 81% and 66% of SOG and phenol degradability, respectively. Thus, the hydrocarbon oils were readily degradable, while the phenols were more resistant to photocatalytic degradation.
A laboratory-scale experiment was conducted to investigate control of soluble microbial products (SMP) by the internal recycle rate in the submerged membrane separation activated sludge process. The internal recycle rate of the reactor RUN 1 and RUN 2 were 100 % and 200 %, respectively. SMP concentration was rapidly accumulated in the reactor (RUN 1). The variation of accumulated SMP concentration was related to the denitrification rate at the beginning experiment however SMP concentration decreased without correlatively to the denitrification rate during long operation time. The microbial kinetic model was rapidly presented in the both microbial growth and extinction in the reactor (RUN 1). In the SMP kinetic model, Internal recycle rate is the lower, value of UAP and BAP which SMP matter were presented low. The study about development of kinetic model is relatively well adjusted to the experiment exception SMP. In the future, SMP formation equation must be thought that continually research is necessary.
This paper describes the design and implementation of a grid system META (Metacomputing Environment using Test-run of Application) which facilitates the execution of a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis program on distributed environment. The grid system META allows the CFD program developers can access the computing resources distributed over the network just like one computer system. The research issues involved in the grid computing include fault-tolerance, computing resource selection, and user-interface design. In this paper, we exploits an automatic resource selection scheme for executing the parallel SPMD (Single Program Multiple Data) application written in MPI (Message Passing Interface). The proposed resource selection scheme is informed from the network latency time and the elapsed time of the kernel loop attained from test-run. The network latency time highly influences the executional performance when a parallel program is distributed and executed over several systems. The elapsed time of the kernel loop can be used as an estimator of the whole execution time of the CFD Program due to a common characteristic of CFD programs. The kernel loop consumes over 90% of the whole execution time of a CFD program.
In this paper, based on SCORM Sequencing Model, we propose the learning content structure which has structure informations of learning object and decision rules how to transfer learning object to learner. It is intended to provide the technical means for learning content objects to be easily shared and reused across multiple learning delivery environment. We develop the generation tool of learning object sequencing, for processing the learning with variable teaching methodologies. The teaming objects also are automatically packaged the PIE(Package Interchange File) to transmit with SCORM RTE(Run-Time Environment) and attached SCO(Sharable Content Object) function for tracking learner information.

Environmental awareness and its relation to the development of economy has garnered increased attention in recent years. Researchers, over the years, have argued that sustainable development warrants for minimizing environmental degradation since one depends on the other. This study analyzes the relationship between environmental degradation (carbon emission taken as proxy for degradation), economic growth, total energy consumption and industrial production index growth in Bangladesh from year 1998 to 2013. This study uses Vector Autoregression (VAR) Model and variance decomposition of VAR to analyze the effect of these variables on carbon emission and vice-versa. The findings of VAR model suggest that industrial production and GDP per capita has significant relationship with carbon emission. Further analysis through variance decomposition shows carbon emission has consistent impact on industrial production over time, whereas, industrial production has high impact on emission in the short run which fades in the long run which is consistent with Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis. Carbon emission rising along with GDP per capita and at the same time having low impact in the long run on industrial index indicates there may be other sources of pollution introduced with the rise in income of the economy over time.
