  • Most researches on the mobile ad hoc network (MANET) have been focused on routing protocols, but for the real service provision DNS(Domain Name System) has to be supported first. Due to the inherent characteristics of the mobile ad hoc network, the DNS of the wired network is assumed to be not good for the MANET environment. The approach of distributed DNSs can easily adapt to the node mobility, but incurs the name conflict resolution overhead. On the other hand, the centralized approach performs the name resolution based on the unicast communication without causing the name conflict resolution overhead. The most important issue of the centralized approach is to provide the seamless name resolution service under server mobility. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new centralized DNS, Manet DNS, which works efficiently on name allocation and management and solves the network merging and partitioning problem as well as providing the seamless name resolution service.

  • In this paper, we propose a new mobility management scheme, called i-FP(intelligent Fast PMIPv6). Our proposed i-FP scheme is addressed for solving the existing local mobility management problems from legacy frameworks. To move MN(Mobile Node) to other networks in one domain, i-FP employs three network entities which are extended from PMIPv6(Proxy Mobile IPv6), LMA(Local Mobility Anchor), MAG(Mobile Access Gateway) and MN. In i-FP, the three network entities can reduce the handover delay time of MNs. Also, i-FP uses an IP header swapping mechanism to avoid the traffic overhead and improve the throughput of network. To evaluate the performance of i-FP, we analyze our i-FP, HMIPv6(Hierarchical Mobile IPv6) and PMIPv6 which are legacy protocols of local mobility management in terms of various parameters. Finally, our i-FP scheme shows good performance(reduction of routing hops 10.2%, signaling costs 58.5% and handover delay 16.3%) than other network schemes for the total cost.

  • Lately Various researches on energy harvesting techniques for wireless sensor networks have been performed to overcome the power limitation of sensor nodes. In wireless sensor networks with harvesting techniques, sensor nodes exploit environmental energy, such as solar or wind energy, as the power sources of the nodes. Existing energy constrained environment routing protocols may not be suitable for energy harvesting based wireless sensor networks because they do not consider the accumulated energy from harvesting devices. In addition, the paths which aren't dispersed shorten the network lifetime. Therefore, in this paper, the algorithm that the path between each node is dispersed is proposed. In case of using the algorithm to be proposed through the simulator it showed that path of the node is variously reflected.

  • To provide multicasting service, several multicast protocols for mobile hosts have been proposed. But they include glitches such as a non-optimal delivery route, data loss when hosts move another network, therefore they have some insecure problems about multicast data transmission. In this paper, we consider these problems and propose a new reliable and efficient multicast routing protocol for Mobile If networks. The proposed protocol provides reliable multicast transmission by compensating data loss from the previous agent when a mobile host moves another network. Also it provides additional function that is directly to connect a multicast tree according to the status of agents. It provides more efficient and optimal multicast path. The performance of the proposed protocol is proved by simulation of various conditions.

  • In this paper, we propose the Centroid-based Backbone Core Tree(CBCT) generation algorithm for the shared tree-based IP multicasting. The proposed algorithm is based on the Core Based Tree(CBT) protocol. Despite the advantages over the source-based trees in terms of scalability, the CBT protocol still has the following limitations; first, the optimal core router selection is very difficult, and second, the multicast traffic is concentrated near a core router. The Backbone Core Tree(BCT) protocol, as an extension of the CBT protocol has been proposed to overcome these limitations of the CBT Instead of selecting a specific core router for each multicast group, the BCT protocol forms a backbone network of candidate core routers which cooperate with one another to make multicast trees. However, the BCT protocol has not mentioned the way of selecting candidate core routers and how to connect them. The proposed CBCT generation algorithm employs the concepts of the minimum spanning tree and the centroid. For the performance evaluation of the proposed algorithm, we showed the performance comparison results for both of the CBT and CBCT protocols.

  • Most existing routing protocols for object detection and tracking in wireless sensor networks concentrate on finding ways to detect and track one and more individual objects, e.g. people, animals, and vehicles, but they do not be interested in detecting and tracking of continuous objects, e.g., poison gas and biochemical. Such continuous objects have quite different properties from the individual objects since the continuous objects are continuously distributed across a region and usually occupy a large area, Thus, the continuous objects could be detected by a number of sensor nodes so that sensing data are redundant and highly correlated. Therefore, an efficient data collection and report scheme for collecting and locally aggregating sensing data is needed, In this paper, we propose the Continuous Object Tracking Mechanism based on Dynamic Rectangle Zone for detecting, tracking, and monitoring the continuous objects taking into account their properties.

  • IN wireless sensor networks (WSNs), one challenging issue is to In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), one challenging issue is to construct a virtual backbone in a distributed and localized way while considering energy limitation. Dominating set has been used extensively as core or virtual backbone in WSNs for the purposes like routing and message broadcast. To ensure network performance, a good dominating set construction protocols should be simple and avoid introducing extra message. In addition, the resulting dominating set should be small, connected, and take into account the energy level at each node. This paper studies efficient and simple virtual backbone construction protocol using defer time in IEEE 802.15.4- based WSNs (e.g. Zigbee). The efficiency of our proposed protocol is confirmed through simulation results.

  • The area of ad hoc networking has been receiving increasing attention among researchers in recent years and a variety of routing protocols targeted specifically at the ad hoc networking environment have been proposed. Selfish nodes are those which do not perform certain operations that the protocol specifies that they should, through a wish to conserve power. We propose a scheme as a mean to mitigate the detrimental effect of selfish nodes. We also propose a new area that might affect nodes' behavior - the environment's influence. In order to let nodes fairly be able to communicate in the networks we proposed solution to this problem. And our scheme can be applied to other reputation methods. We also contain the simulation results in our paper, and through the result, we can conclude that we can solve the problem by adding a little overhead.

  • This paper propose an improving relay node selection method for node-to-node connectivity. This concern with the mobility and analysis of deployed for masking operation using highest connectivity node. The major of Delay Tolerant Network (DTN) routing protocols make use of simple forwarding approach to transmit the message depend on the node's mobility. In this cases, the selection of the irrelevant mobile node induced the delay and packet delivery loss caused by limiting buffer size and computational power of node. Also the proposed algorithm provides the node connectivity considering the mobility and direction select the highest connectivity node from neighbor node using masking operation. From the simulation results, the proposed algorithm compared the packet delivery ratio with PROPHET and Epidemic. The proposed Enhanced Prediction-based Context-awareness Matrix(EPCM) algorithm shows an advantage packet delivery ratio even with selecting relay node according to mobility and direction.

  • In an infrastructure-based wireless network, an access point is used for all communications among mobile devices. However, when a mobile device moves into a dead Bone, a connectivity disruption between the mobile device and the access point occurs. Such connectivity disruption consequently leads to another connectivity disruption between the mobile device moving toward the dead zone and other wireless-enabled devices located within the area of the infrastructure-based wireless network. To cope with the connectivity disruption in the infrastructure-based wireless network the ad hoc network that dynamically forms a network without any preexisting communication infrastructure needs to be set up to provide seamless connections among mobile devices. In this paper, we propose the DNSQ-MAC (Dynamic Network State aware QoS-Medium Access Control) technique that meets the deadlines of MAC frames forwarded over hop-by-hop multipaths and guarantees the QoS performance of an ad hoc-based wireless network. Mobile devices incorporating the DNSQ-MAC technique are capable of adjusting to the new dynamic network status in order to enhance the QoS performance in the ad hoc-based wireless network. A case study which exploits the Qualnet simulator shows that the proposed DNSQ-MAC technique can guarantee the deadlines of MAC frames forwarded over hop-by-hop multipaths and enhance the QoS performance of various routing protocols and packet schedulers running on the network layer above the MAC layer.
