Gamcheon village was a poor village in the past, but it recently has boomed as a representative tourists' attraction in the region. Its unique topography and history have played a significant role in the town's growth as a famous tourists' attraction. The factors contributed decisively to the formation of a special spatial structure there. In the process of the town's rapid development as a tourists' destination, however, the tourism overflowed. As such, the interests of the residents and the tourists conflicted, and the segregation between the two has augmented. These gaps seem to have enormously distorted the perception of the spaces as much as they have seriously distracted the existing traffic circulations in the village. The purpose of this study is to identify the differences in spatial perception of both residents and tourists in the Gamcheon village. For the purpose, it assumes the residents' natural movements and the tourists' purposeful movements, and they are analyzed by the space syntax. The major findings are that the circulations of the residents and the tourists in the village are clearly separated and that the two groups perceive the same space completely differently. This confirms the fact that even the same space could be recognized and used in a totally different way depending on the users' purposes.
Low molecular weight polyphenols were isolated from hot water extracts of radiata pine (Pinus radiata) bark using a Sephadex LH-20 column and characterized by $^1H$ and $^{13}C$ NMR, UV, FT-IR, and GC-MS analyses. Major compounds isolated and identified were protocatechuic acid, trans-taxifolin, and quercetin. Trans-taxifolin, an important intermediate in biosynthetic route of proanthocyanidin (PA), was isolated in large quantities and indicates that PA is a major component of radiata pine bark. Small amounts of polyphenols were identified by GC-MS analysis. The presence of p-hydroxybenzoic acid, vanillic acid, protocatechuic acid, cis- and trans-feruic acid, p-coumaric acid, trans-caffeic acid, (-)-epicatechin, (+)-catechin, trans- and cis-taxifolin, (+)-gallocatechin, and quercetin was confirmed by comparison of mass fragmentation patterns and retention times (RT) with authentic samples. In addition, the presence of astringenin, astringenin glycoside, trans- and cis-leucodelphinidin was strongly assumed from characteristic mass fragment ions due to their conjugated structure and retro Diels-Alder reaction, and also from biosynthetic route of PA. GC-MS analysis allowed us to detect small amounts of phenolic acids and flavonoids and eventually discriminate trans- and cis-configuration in the identified polyphenols.

For the spatial experience of spectators visiting a museum, the route search of trying to follow the spatial structure or production of exhibition and the information search of trying to see are accomplished at the same time. In such process, the spectator's reaction of visual perception produces the result of emotional reaction and action exchanged between human and space by going through the recognition and perception on the target of environment factor. For the spatial experience of a spectator, the reaction of visual perception which interacts according to the exhibit and exhibition environment within space according to viewing purpose, interest and concern of spectator comes out as visual activity which is an activity to understand the spatial information shown as various activities according to spatial structure and unfolding characteristics of the display. The purpose of this study is to identify The Correlation of Spectator Movement Created According to Structural Form of Exhibition Area Based on Interaction between Exhibition Area Structure and Spectator to utilize as basic material while designing museum exhibition using isovist field which is a quantitative analysis tool of spectator's visual behavior and spatial structure at each exhibition area.
Recently, synthesis of low-dimensional nanostructures is gaining more importance due to their structural properties and growing potential applications. On the other hand, luminescent materials doped with rare earth ions have drawn immense attention. The commercial phosphors are based on many host materials. Among them, tungstates are being currently investigated by many research groups owing to a wide range of applications. Tungstates are formed by different metal cations (e.g., SrWO4, Na2WO4, NiWO4, Cr2WO6, and ZrW2O8) and their structure depends on the size of the metal cation. Tungstates with large bivalent cations (${\gg}0.1\;nm$) have the scheelite structure and the wolframite structure with smaller ions (<0.1 nm). Strontium tungstate has the scheelite structure which is tetragonal with space group I41/a. The luminescent properties of the tungstate have been extensively explored in application fields such as sensors, detectors, lasers, photoluminiscent devices, photo catalysts, etc. In this work, we synthesized SrWO4 phosphors with different Eu3+ concentrations by using a facile route. The morphology was analyzed by using a field-emission scanning electron microscope, which exhibits the spherical shape. Transmission electron microscope image revealed the spheres composed of nanoparticles. X-ray diffraction patterns confirmed their tetragonal shape. The photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra were analyzed by varying the Eu3+ concentration, which shows a dominant red emission.
Although vertically aligned one-dimensional (1D) structure has been considered as efficient forms for photoelectrode, development of efficient 1D nanostructured photocathode are still required. In this sense, we recently demonstrated a simple fabrication route for CuInS2 (CIS) nanorod arrays from aqueous solution by template-assisted growth-and-transfer method and their feasibility as a photoelectrode for water splitting. In this study, we further evaluated the photoelectrochemical properties surface-modified CIS nanorod arrays. Surface modification with CdS and ZnS was performed by successive ion layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) method, which is well known as suitable technique for conformal coating throughout nanoporous structure. With surface modification of CdS and ZnS, both photoelectrochemical performance and stability of CuInS2 nanorod arrays were improved by shifting of the flat-band potential, which was analyzed both onset potential and Mott-schottky plot.
Composition in the (Znl-xNix)2TiO4+ yTiO2 system (x=0-0.5, y=0-0.35) were synthesized via the solid-state reaction route. The incorporation of titanium, in the form of TiO2, in (Znl-xNix)2TiO4 spinel ceramics were investigated by analyzing the crystal structure and measuring the dielectric properties. The result of the crystal structure analysis suggested that TiO2 level of 0.01 y 0.33 could be incorporated into the (Znl-xNix)2TiO4 spinel. The change of incorporated TiO2 level is related with Co-content as a inverse proportion and the variation of lattice parameter and dielectric properties were supported the result.
In this article, we considered shear-induced microstructure and rheological behavior of micellar solutions of cationic surfactant, cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) in the presence of a structure-forming additive, sodium salicylate (NaSal). Shear viscosity, shear moduli and flow birefringence were measured as functions of the surfactant and additive concentrations. In the presence of NaSal, the micellar solution exhibited the non-linear rheological behavior due to the formation of supramolecular structures when the molar ratio of NaSal to CPC exceeded a certain threshold value. Flow birefringence probed the change in micelle alignment under shear flow. At low shear rates, the flow birefringence increased as the shear rate increased. On the other hand, fluctuation of flow birefringence appeared from the shear rate near the onset of shear thickening, which was caused by shear-induced coagulation or aggregation. These results were confirmed by the SEM images of in situ gelified micelle structure through sol-gel route.
Herein, macroporous carbon materials were readily prepared by carbonization of cured body of resorcinol and formaldehyde using poly(methyl methacrylate) colloid microspheres which were employed as the template in the gelation of resorcinol with formaldehyde. The gel in the water was solvent exchanged with methanol and the wet gel was dried. After carbonization of the template-gel composite at $800^{\circ}C$, it was found that pores were left corresponding to the size of the template, yielding carbon materials with a fine porous structure with enlarged surface area and significant porosity. Properties of the carbon foams including the structure, morphology, thermal stability, and porosity were investigated. Finally, it was concluded that the method using polymer colloids as the template provided a facile route to prepare carbon foams.
The purpose of this thesis is to construct the autonomous decentralized train traffic management structure using techniques of Autonomous Decentralized System. Currently, a method of train traffic control is making use of CTC(Centralized Traffic Control). Its operation method is divided into the remote mode and the local mode. The classified basis is according to the control authority of install signals in track side. In most cases, a large scale station is operated by the local mode. Because of dispatchers in center can not control the shunting works influence on the main route. In order to solve these problem s, we analyzed a current operation condition and system requirements. Moreover, this thesis is constructing autonomous decentralized train traffic management structure. Finally, this research proposed that interface with CTC and step-by-step construction.
