This paper investigates the free vibration analysis of double-beam system coupled by a two-degree-of-freedom mass-spring system. In order to generalize the model, the main beams are assumed to be elastically restrained against translation and rotation at one end and free at the other. Furthermore, the mass-spring system is elastically connected to the beams at adjustable positions by means of four translational and rotational springs. The governing differential equations of the beams and the mass-spring system are derived and analytically solved by using the Fourier transform method. Moreover, as a second way, a finite element solution is derived. The frequency parameters and mode shapes of some diverse cases are obtained using both methods. Comparison of obtained results by two methods shows the accuracy of both solutions. The influence of system parameters on the free vibration response of the studied mechanical system is examined.

A rotating shaft system subjected to seismic motions has been investigated for the various operating modes at start-up. During an earthquake excitation, the rotor may hit the stator of machines due to the excessive deformation of shaft, and thus the response of rotating shaft system of which foundation is supported by the vibration isolation devices has been simulated. In order to examine the transient response of the rotating shaft system at the start-up to both the various operating conditions and the seismic excitation simultaneously, nonlinear equations of motion are derived and solved numerically using Runge-Kutta method. The response of the rotating shaft system is calculated according to the operating modes as recommended by the machine and the system parameters such as the spring stiffness of isolation devices.
Robotic motion is designed by the rotation and the translation of multiple joint coordinates in a three-dimensional space. Joint coordinates are generally modeled by homogeneous transform matrix. However, the complexity of three dimensional motions prefers the visualization methods based on simulation environments in which models and generated motions work properly. Many simulation environments have the limitations of usability and functional extension from platform dependency and interpretation of predefined commands. This paper proposes the web-based three dimensional simulation environment toward high user accessibility. Also, it covers the small size web server that is linked with Python script. The non linearities of robot control apply to verify the computing efficiency, the process management, and the extendability of user scripts.
The present paper seeks to investigate propagation and reflection of waves at free surfaces of homogeneous, anisotropic and rotating micropolar fibre-reinforced medium with voids. It has been observed that, in particular when P-wave is incident on the free surface, there exist four coupled reflected plane waves traveling in the medium; quasi-longitudinal displacement (qLD) wave, quasi-transverse displacement (qTD) wave, quasi-transverse microrotational wave and a wave due to voids. Normal mode Analysis usually called harmonic solution method is adopted in concomitant with Snell's laws and appropriate boundary conditions in determination of solution to the micropolar fibre reinforced modelled problem. Amplitude ratios which correspond to reflected waves in vertical and horizontal components are presented analytically. Also, the Reflection Coefficients are presented using numerical simulated results in graphical form for a particular chosen material by the help of Mathematica software. We observed that the micropolar fibre-reinforced, voids and rotational parameters have various degrees of effects to the modulation, propagation and reflection of waves in the medium. The study would have impact to micropolar fibre-reinforecd rotational-acoustic machination fields and future works about behavior of seismic waves.

The high-temperature gas-cooled reactor pebble-bed module project is the first commercial Generation-IV NPP(Nuclear Power Plant) in China. A new joint is used for the vertical support of RPV(Reactor Pressure Vessel). The steel corbel is integrally embedded into the reactor-cabin wall through eight asymmetrically arranged pre-stressed high-strength bolts, achieving the different path transmission of shear force and moment. The vertical monotonic loading test of two specimens is conducted. The results show that the failure mode of the joint is bolt fracture. There is no prominent yield stage in the whole loading process. The stress of bolts is linearly distributed along the height of corbel at initial loading. As the load increases, the height of neutral axis of bolts gradually decreases. The upper and lower edges of the wall opening contact the corbel plate to restrict the rotation of the corbel. During the loading, the pre-stress of some bolts decreases. The increase of the pre-stress strength ratio of bolts has no noticeable effect on the structure stiffness, but it reduces the ultimate bearing capacity of the joint. A simplified calculation model for the elastic stage of the joint is established, and the estimation results are in good agreement with the experimental results.
The present study proposes a theoretical and numerical investigation on the dynamic response behaviour of a functional graded (FG) ceramic-metal tapered rotor shaft system, by the differential quadrature finite elements method (DQFEM) to identify the natural frequencies for modelling and analysis of the structure with suitable validations. The purpose of this paper is to explore the influence of heat gradients on the natural frequency of rotation of FG shafts via three-dimensional solid elements, as well as a theoretical examination using the Timoshenko beam mode, which took into account the gyroscopic effect and rotational inertia. The functionally graded material's distribution is described by two distribution laws: the power law and the exponential law. To simulate varied thermal conditions, radial temperature distributions are obtained using the nonlinear temperature distribution (NLTD) and exponential temperature distribution (ETD) approaches. This work deals with the results of the effect on the fundamental frequencies of different material's laws gradation and temperature gradients distributions. Attempts are conducted to identify adequate explanations for the behaviours based on material characteristics. The effect of taper angle and material distribution on the dynamic behaviour of the FG conical rotor system is discussed.
This paper shows a design of a gripper with an adjustable working area to depalletize a delivery cardboard box of various sizes. The gripper should pick the box with only one flat surface to lift the boxes stacked close to each other. The lift force of the gripper is the vacuum suction force. To handle boxes of various sizes, the gripper adjusts the working area. The gripper operates four vacuum generators independently. The simultaneous rotation on different axes of four gripper-arms with suction cups moves the position of suction force. The six operation modes of the gripper are divided into the size of the working area. The operation mode is determined according to the size of the top side of the box. Experiments are conducted by lifting the box of various sizes. The gripper can pick the box of various sizes without vacuum leaks from unused cups. Also, the experiments verify the improvement of stability of the box by adjusting the working area of the gripper. The gripper can lift the box without deformation of the box by adjusting the working area.
The main-belt asteroid (5247) Krylov is known as a Non-Principal Axis (NPA) rotator. However, the shape model and spin state of this asteroid were not revealed. The physical model of an asteroid including spin state and shape is regarded to be important to understand its physical properties and dynamical evolution. Thus, in order to reconstruct the physical model of Kryolv, we applied the light curve inversion method using not only the optical light curves observed with ground-based telescopes in three apparitions during 2006, 2016, and 2017, but also the infrared light curves obtained with the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) in 2010. We found that it is rotating in Short Axis Mode (SAM) with the rotation and precession periods of 368.71 hr and 67.277 hr, respectively. The orientation of the angular momentum vector is (298°, -58°) in the ecliptic coordinate system. The ratio of moments of inertia of the longest axis to the shortest axis is Ia/Ic = 0.36; the ratio of moments of inertia of the intermediate axis to the shortest axis is Ib/Ic = 0.96. Finally, the excitation level of this asteroid is found to be rather low with a ratio of the rotational kinetic energy to the basic spin state energy as E/E0 ≃ 1.024. We will briefly discuss the possible evolutionary process of Krylov in this presentation.

Gamma (3%, 3 mm) and showed 99% agreement, each organ-specific dose difference were generally greater than 95% agreement. The rotational intensity modulated radiation therapy, respiratory synchronized to the respiratory cycle created Amplitude mode and the actual patient's breathing cycle could be seen that a good agreement. Conclusion : When you are treated Non-respiratory and respiratory method between volumetric intensity modulated radiation therapy rotation of the absolute dose and dose distribution showed a very good agreement. This breathing technique tuning volumetric intensity modulated radiation therapy using a rotary moving along the thoracic or abdominal breathing can be applied to the treatment of tumors is considered. The actual treatment of patients through the goggles of the respiratory cycle to create Amplitude mode Gated RapidArc treatment equipment that does not automatically apply to the results about 5-6 seconds stopped breathing in breathing synchronized rotary volumetric intensity modulated radiation therapy facilitate could see complement.
The light and energy-efficiency of classical liquid crystal displays is notoriously poor due to the use of absorption-based linear polarisers and colour filters. For instance, the light efficiency of PVAL polarisers is typically between 40 and 45 % and the colour filters have a typical efficiency below 35 % which results in a total light and energy-efficiency of the display below 10 %. In the past, a variety of polarizers were developed with an enhanced efficiency in generating linearly polarized light. Typically, these polarizers are based on the polarisationselective reflection, scattering or refraction of light i.e. one polarisation direction of light is directly transmitted to the LCD/viewer and the other polarization direction of light is depolarised and recycled which results in a typical efficiency for generating linearly polarized light of 70-85 %. Also, special colour filters have been proposed based on chiral-nematic reactive mesogens which increase the efficiency of generating colour. Despite the enormous progress in this field, a need persists for improved methods for generating polarized light and colour based on low cost optical components with a high efficiency. Here, the use of holographic phase gratings is reported for the generation of polarized light and colour. The phase grating are recorded in a photopolymer which is coated onto a backor frontlight for LCDs. Typically the recording is performed in the transmisson mode or in the waveguiding mode and slanted phase gratings are generated with their refractive index modulation at an angle between 20o and 45o with the normal of the substrate. It is shown that phase gratings with a high refractive index modulation and a high efficiency can be generated by a proper selection of the photopolymer and illumination conditions. These phase gratings coupleout linearly polarized light with a high contrast (> 100) and the light is directed directly to the LCD/viewer without the need for redirection foils. Dependent on the type of phase grating, the different colours are coupled-out at a slightly different angle which potentially increases the efficiency of classical colour filters. Moreover, the phase gratings are completely transparent in direct view which opens the possibility to use them in frontlights for LCDs. Holographic polarization gratings posses a periodic pattern in the polarization state of light (and not in the intensity of light). A periodic pattern in the polarization direction of linearly polarized light is obtained upon interference of two circularly polarized laser beams. In the second part of the lecture, it is shown that these periodic polarization patterns can be recorded in a linear photo-polymerizable polymer (LPP) and that such an alignment layer induces a period rotation in the director of (reactive and non-reactive) liquid crystals. By a proper design, optical components can be produced with only first order diffraction and with a very high efficiency (>0.98). It is shown that these diffraction gratings are potentially useful in projection displays with a high brightness and energy efficiency
