분체슬로싱 현상에 의한 원통형 용기에서의 에너지 소실 (Energy dissipation by particle sloshing in a rolling cylindrical vessel)

  • In the engineering field, sloshing in rolling vessel is a hot issue because of the connection with ship stability problem. The sloshing phenomena also can be utilized in the field of structure or facility vibration damper. This paper explores the possibility which sloshing of multi-particles can be used to dissipate energy in a rolling container. This energy dissipation can be utilized to the application of rotating damper. Some of the parameters expected to dissipates energy, such as vessel size, particle size, mass fraction and ramp height, have been experimentally and theoretically studied.

  • In this paper the real life operation of ULCS (Ultra Large Container Ships) is presented from the point of view of shipmasters. The paper provides interpretation of results of questionnaire filled by masters of large container ships during Tools for Ultra Large Container Ships (TULC) EUI FP7 project. This is done in a way that results of questionnaire are further reviewed and commented by experienced master of ULCS. Following phenomena are subject of questionnaire and further discussed in the paper: parametric rolling, slamming, whipping, springing, green water and rogue waves. Special attention is given to the definition of rough sea states as well as to measures that ship masters take to avoid them as well as to the manoeuvring in heavy seas. The role of the wave forecast and weather routing software is also discussed.

  • In order to evaluate rolling characteristics of high speed container carrier the author developed yaw-sway-rudder coupled rool equation, which is likely to be 5th order differential equation. The free rolling time history with particular reference to automatic steering, was computed upon the base of the yaw-sway-rudder coupled roll equation. The computed result explained effects of $C_1$ and $C_2$ on rolling behaviors and furthermore the effect of $C_2$ proved to be very effective where $C_1$ and $C_2$ are yaw gin constant and yaw-rate gain constant of auto-pilot respectively. Computation was carried out using Matsumoto's data of hydrodynamic force derivatives of 5 meter long container model.

  • In this paper, we will introduce a control strategy based on the permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) container transfer system using soft-computing algorithm. Linear motor-based container transport system (LMCTS) is horizontal transfer system for the yard automation, which has been proposed to take the place of automated guided vehicle in the maritime container terminal. LMCTS is considered as that the system is changed its model suddenly and variously by loading and unloading container. The proposed control system is consisted of two DR-FNNs that act the role of controller and system emulator. Consequently, the system had the predictable structure and an ability to adapt for a huge variation of rolling friction, detent force, and sudden changes of its weight by loading and unloading.

  • A Mobile Harbor is a new transportation platform which can load and unload has containers to and from very large container ships on the sea. Currently designed Mobile Harbor a catamaran type which is equipped with precisely controlled gantry crane on the deck, and can transport 250 TEUs at a time. Loading and unloading works by crane require very small motion of Mobile Harbor in waves, because it may be operated outside of harbors. In this project, applicability of both tuned-type anti-rolling tank and maglev-type active mass driver is studied as anti-rolling systems.

  • Marine casualities in the high sea are mainly classified into the breakage of hull and capsize , of which the latter occurs frequently to a small craft and container vessels by extreme rolling. The aim of this study is to develop shiphandling techniques for the prevention of ship's large rolling by way of evaluating dangerous degree of rolling in heavy weather. In this study, rolling motion is analized by using statistical method as follow : (1) 8 sample ships is presented for calculation. (2) Analized sea state are Beaufort scale 7 and 10 (wind velocity 30kts and 50kts respectively) and significant wave height is put as 5.2m and 11.2m. (3) The formula recommended by International Towing Tank Conference (ITTC) is used to calculated the wave spectrum. The results of this study are as follow : The results of this study are as follow : (1) Most of the vessels with beam of 20 meters or less was found to be capized in the waves abeam under the sea condition of Bearfort scale7(30kts). (2) For the vessels range 20m to 30m was found safe under the sea conditions of Bearfort scale 7(30kts) and imminent danger under the sea condition of Beaufort scale 11(50kts). (3) It is proved that any vessel could be capsized by heavy rolling regardless of vessel's size whenever the motion is synchronized with waves abeam. This study concludes that the navigator, especially at night , must anticipate the exact wave direction, referring to the wether report and coastaline, not to lay the vessel in the serial wave abeam.

  • 해상부유식 항만부두인 모바일 하버에는 일반 지상설치식 크레인과는 다른 구조를 가진 크레인이 설치되어 있다. 그리고 상부에 설치되어 있는 크레인은 파고에 따른 모바일 하버 전체의 동적 안정성에 지대한 영향을 미친다. 본 연구는 해상상태 3의 파고에 따른 모바일 하버용 크레인의 롤링 동응답 해석에 관한 내용으로서, 이론과 수치해석 기법으로 구성된 2단계 해석절차를 적용하였다. 선형파고이론에 따라 강체로 가정한 모바일 하버의 롤링응답을 이론적으로 계산하고, 모바일하버 본체의 롤링에 따른 탄성체 크레인의 롤링 동특성을 유한요소해석으로 분석하였다. 모바일 하버 본체와 직접 접하는 파고의 동적 연계효과는 부가질량 기법으로 반영하였다.

Coupled Motion Simulation of the Mobile Harbor and Anti-Rolling Devices in Waves

  • The Mobile Harbor(MH) is a new transportation platform that can load and unload containers to and from very large container ships in the sea. This loading and unloading by crane can be performed with only very small movements of the MH in waves because MH is operated outside of the harbor. For this reason, an anti-rolling tank(ART) and an active mass driving system(AMD) were designed to reduce MH's roll motion, especially at the natural frequency of MH. In the conceptual design stage, it is difficult to confirm the design result of theses anti-rolling devices without modeling and simulation tools. Therefore, the coupled MH and anti-rolling devices' dynamic equations in waves were derived and a simulation program that can analyze the roll reduction performance in various conditions, such as sea state, wave direction, and so on, was developed. The coupled equations are constructed as an eight degrees of freedom (DOF) motion that consists of MH's six DOF dynamics and the ART's and AMD's control variables. In order to conveniently include the ART's and AMD's control dynamics in the time domain, MH's radiated wave force was described by an impulse response function derived by the damping coefficient obtained in the frequency domain, and wave exciting forces such as Froude-Krylov force and diffraction force and nonlinear buoyancy were calculated at every simulation time interval. Finally, the roll reduction performances of the designed anti-rolling devices were successfully assessed in the various loading and wave conditions by using a developed simulation program.

컨테이너 철도차륜의 안전성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Safety Estimation of Railroad Wheel)

  • 철도차량의 고속화가 가속화되면서 화물을 운송하던 컨테이너 차량이 차륜의 파손에 의하여 탈선하는 사고가 발생하여 많은 물적 피해가 발생하고 있으며, 이러한 철도차량의 사고는 많은 인명 피해와 물적 피해를 가져오는 대형 사고로 발전할 수 있다. 따라서 이에 대한 재발 방지를 위한 차륜의 파손 해석에 대한 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 철도차량의 차륜은 기계적 하중과 열하중를 동시에 받으며, 기계적 하중으로는 철도차량의 무게에 의한 수직하중과 곡선 구간을 운행할 때 차륜과 레일의 접촉부에 수평하중이 발생하며, 철도차량의 제동시 답면제동에 의한 반복적인 열하중을 받는다. 이러한 차륜에 발생하는 기계적 하중과 열하중은 차륜의 균열과 잔류응력 등을 발생시키는 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 차량 주행 시의 브레이크 이력과 하중 조건을 고려한 열 구조 연성해석을 수행하여 차륜에 부하되는 최대응력을 추정하였으며, 이 값을 파괴역학 파라미터인 응력확대계수에 적용하여 차륜의 안전성을 평가하였다.

신선농산물의 수출포장개발에 관한 연구 (Research on Development of Export Packaging for Fresh Agricultural Products)

  • It is very difficult to export the fresh agricultural products to long distant countries such as America and EU without any damage. Fresh exporting products would be met very hazardous environments such as hot and cold weather, heavy trembles with rolling and pitching. Therefore, care should be taken on tight fastening the products inside the container and keeping the designated temperature and relative humidity. The physical strength of outer box should be applied differently because each agricultural product has its own character for packaging. There have been many agricultural products researches for export packaging to the U.S.A. so far. However they have never got desirable results which enough to apply it in real. The main purpose of this research is to develop optimum compressive strength of corrugated fiber board box which would be used to American export packaging of fresh agricultural products such as perilla leaves, green red pepper and spinach.
