This study is a basic study to establish a comprehensive plan for operating the Hanam Library, a regional base library that will be built in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City. We investigated opinions about the collection, library program, role and task of a regional base library and the operation of the cooperative shared storage. As a result of the study, the information resources that users prefer are a book form of the literary subject, and preferred library services are the use of information resources and participation in cultural events. Public library librarians answered conducting user-centered services and carrying out a cooperative projects between libraries are important and they recognized cooperative acquisition as a task should be performed first. In addition, opinions about the operation of cooperative shared storage is generally positive. The regional base library managers said that it is important to establish library governance by clarifying the status and role of the library and that as a public library, and to promote information services and cooperation projects for local users. The results of this study can be expected to be the useful basic material for the establishment of the Hanam Library comprehensive operation plan.

The purpose of this study is to find a new role of the small libraries in the community as the center of the community through an investigation of the case of Atti library in Daegu. To achieve the study purpose, in-depth interview was conducted with the original members of the Atti library. The interview data were analyzed using a qualitative method. According to the study results, human networks of the community were solidified and expanded through the Atti library. Furthermore, the community people could have more confidence in solving the problems of the community and the community could grow further through the Atti library. The small libraries should think about their new roles as the center of the community beyond the role of the public libraries.

21st century is a knowledge and information society. Keeping pace with this global environment change. people demand various roles from a library First, they demand to play a role of an 'Information Connector' rather than a traditional role of a 'Book Container'. In addition, not only introducing a system of 'Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education & HRD' for national HRD and 'Five-Day Week' but the advent of 'an Aging Society' demand a change of a library. This study researches roles of a library inseparably related to such new paradigms in the life-long learning society as the knowledge. information, five-day week. aging and HRD, and shows the right direction of a library to pursue in the future.

The legislative cosponsorship network shows the legislative process of the National Assembly through the relationship between the members of the National Assembly formed by cosponsorship. This study focused on the library bill proposed during the 19th National Assembly term, and conducted the cosponsorship network analysis, the centrality analysis of actors of the National Assembly, and a subgroup analysis of keyword-centric networks. As the result of the study, the library bill's cosponsorship network was segmented according to political parties, and lawmakers who played an intermediary role in close proximity to other political party members had an important influence on the network. When restructured into a keyword-oriented network, the network structure segmented into political parties improved as members of different parties shared the same keywords and formed subgroups. Based on the results, it was suggested that a strategy for spreading and sharing policy issues based on core keywords rather than library legislation, centered on lawmakers who play a mediating role between parties, is needed to activate library legislation.

This study explored the fact that libraries can be used as evacuation facilities, suggesting that existing libraries built not only strengthen their role and function as evacuation facilities but also need to be constructed or remodeled to meet the criteria for designation and operation of evacuation facilities. The use of closed schools was proposed to pursue economic efficiency and regional effects in building or remodeling, and the status of the evacuation facilities and closed school in Chungju was evaluated to check the effectiveness of these proposals, and closed school was assessed based on the capacity of the shelter. The three main points of discussion in this paper are as follows: ① Reconfirm what functions and roles the library are performing as an evacuation facility, and explore the advantages of using the library as an evacuation facility is used as an evacuation facility. ② Review and discuss the synergy by the role of the library and the closed schools. ③ Examine and discuss the synergy between these roles of the library and the closed school.

The first part of this paper clarified the importance of teacher's role in activating the school library. In the second pan, the major of this paper, the state of the art of school libraries and the perception of teachers managing school libraries without librarian certificate were investigated by questionnaire. The questionnaire to middle school and high school was planed to survey the functions, the management problems, and the improvement of school library. The followings were analyzed in more detail ; the characteristics of school library teacher, the actual condition of the library, the recognition on school library of teachers and principals, the promotion plans fer library use, and the solution for management problems.

Information technology. computers, networks, and the World Wide Web are ubiquitous. Academic libraries have applied information technology over the last ten years. The traditional role of the library as the scholarly information heart of the university is being questioned as information technology makes Information ever more easily accessible. And the recent technological development may alter the fundamental concept or identity of the academic library in the twenty-first century. This paper examines the ways in which information technology have chanced the academic library over the last decades and deals with the logical interrelation of 'information technology' and 'management' in the context of academic libraries in Korea. In order for school library to fully serve as a key educational element of a school, teachers' positive perception on the library's role is essential. Due to the lack of the perception, however, school libraries are not closely related to class activities in practice. Since teachers' perception on school library has been regarded as an given environmental factor in the field of school libraries, alternatives for revitalizing school libraries proposed in previous studies were not effective in practice. We developed a hypothesis that activities in school libraries have a certain impact on the teachers' perception, and tested the hypothesis and identified library factors to the perception in this study. Through a series of statistical analyses with the data from a questionnaire survey with teachers in elementary schools, we identified that the teachers perceived the library as non-curricular element, their perceptions were affected by the library. Consequently, the school library can influence the teachers' perveption. This study has implications to explore practical alternatives to improve the teachers' perception on school libraries by activities in school libraries.

This thesis presents the 'Information and the Library' curriculum and the roles of teacher-librarians. Related to 'The School Library Promotion Law', this thesis presents the effects teacher-librarians instruct 'Information and the Library' curriculum to the school libraries, and the challenges related to this curriculum. This thesis contains the role and work of three kinds of staff in the school library. implementation of primary and secondary 'Information and the Library' curriculum for information literacy instruction in the school libraries, the effects by 'Information and the Library' curriculum. and challenges of 'Information and the Library' curriculum. Conclusively, teacher-librarians should accomplish their own instructional activities with 'Information and the Library' curriculum in the school curricula as differentiated work from librarians.

The purpose of this study is to closely examine the factors affecting the organizational commitment of Public librarians. To do this, I have classified the factors related to organizational commitment into personal circumstantial factor. role factor, job factor, and organizational climate : and tried to explain the difference in organizational commitment according to each specific factor and which factor most heavily affected the organizational commitment. To do this I have conducted document studies and surveys. As the result of the study I have analyzed that the job factor effect the organizational commitment of public librarians the most among the four factors; personal circumstantial factor, role factor, job factor. and organizational climate. In succession. organizational climate, personal circumstantial factor was next in line. And the role factor was analyzed as the factor that least affected the organizational commitment of public librarians.
