높은 세장비를 가진 침상형 입자의 동적 거동 해석을 위한 중첩형 강체막대모델을 이용한 이산요소법 (Discrete Element Method using the Superposed Rigid-Rod Model for the Dynamic Behavior of Needle-Shaped Powder with a High Aspect Ratio)

  • One problem of the Discrete Element Method is the assumption of a spherical particle shape, which reduces the computing time but significantly limits the application of the DEM to analysis. This limitation can be overcome by a recently developed rigid-rod model. However, the rigid-rod model has an essential problem related with friction: it always contains friction error because of the bumpy surface. To overcome this issue, we suggest a superposed rigid-rod model in this paper. The superposed rigid-rod model is notably consistent with the theoretical value in terms of the velocity and angular velocity after the collision. The estimated error is negligible(less than 2%). Then, the developed model is applied to hopper discharging. The developed model shows no problem in the discharging flow from the hopper.

지지격자로 지지된 모의 연료봉의 진동특성 (Vibration Characteristics of a Dummy Fuel Rod Supported by Spacer Grids)

  • The spacer grid is one of the main structural components in the fuel assembly, which supports the fuel rods and maintains coolable geometry from an external load. A vibration test and a finite element analysis using ABAQUS on a dummy fuel rod continuously supported by Optimized H type(OHT) and New Doublet (ND) spacer grids arc performed to obtain the vibration characteristics such as natural frequencies and mode shapes an(1 to verify a finite element model. The results from the test and the finite element analysis are compared by modal assurance criteria (MAC) values. It is resulted that MACs for the first, the third and the fifth mode shapes are relatively good as compared with those of the second an(1 fourth ones. The natural frequency differences between two methods as well as the mode comparison results for the rod with OHT spacer grid are better than those with ND spacer grid. It is judged that the FE model for the ND spacer grid spring should be modified to consider the long contact length which actually happen when the spring supports the rod.

펄스 TIG용접에서 필러 와이어 송급속도에 따른 아크압력 변동이 용입에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of the Arc Pressure Variation on the Penetration by the filler Wire Feed Rate in Pulsed TIG Welding)

  • In the standpoint of the arc pressure, the effects of the filler wire feed rate on the penetration was investigated in this study. The pure Ar gas was used as a shield gas and the parameters investigated were the welding current and the filler wire feed rate. By making the experiment on the arc pressure, we could know that the arc pressure was fluctuated as the depth-into-arc of the tungsten rod. Instead of the filler wire, the tungsten rod was supplied into the molten pool to make this experiment. Because the filler wire melted in arc and then we couldn't measure the arc pressure. So, the tungsten rod - the highest melting point - was used. According to the depth-into-arc of the tungsten rod, the arc pressure could be measured by using the manometer. It was proved that the arc pressure got higher as the wire feed rate was slow. It is reported the arc pressure is proportion to welding voltage and the square of welding current. But, in the filler wire TIG welding, we could blow that arc pressure was fluctuated as the depth-into-arc of filler wire was changed. We could measure the arc pressure by the variation of the filler wire feed rate and could verify that it affected bead shape and penetration.

토크 로드 부품의 정하중 및 피로하중하에서의 성능평가 연구 (A study on performance evaluation of rod rubber bushing under static and fatigue loadings)

  • 본 연구에서는 토크로드의 여러가지 성능시험이 하능한 시험기의 설계와 개발 에 관하여 논하려 한다. 토크 로드의 정적 성능은, 반경방향 스프링 특성시험 및 비 틀림 방향 스프링 특성시험 그리고 회전토크 특성시험 등을 통하여 평가된다. 그러 나, 이들 세가지 성능시험을 위한 시험기를 각각 개발할 경우 소요비용이 과다해진다. 따라서, 한정된 예산과 시험기 개발후 시험평가 공정의 간소화 등을 고려하여, 본 시 험기는 3대의 시험기로써 하여야 할 기능을 한대의 시험기로써 할수 있도록 개발하였 다. 시험기 개발에 따른 기술적인 고찰과, 본 시험기로 정하중에서의 토크 로드 부 품의 성능시험을 수행하고 서어보 유압식 구조물 피로 시험기를 사용하여 동 부품의 피로 내구성 시험을 실시하고, 고무의 조성변화, 접착성 개선 등을 통해 내구성을 향 상시킴으로 국산화 개발을 가능케 한 기술적 내용들을 살펴 보고자 한다.

초저온 피스톤 펌프의 성능 향상에 관한 연구 (The Study on Development of Performance in Cryogenic Piston Pump)

  • In order to develop a universal cryogenic piston pump of small size for increasing utilization of liquid hydrogen, dynamic compression performance of piston pump were evaluated and improvements were also discussed for piston rod and piston tip. The cryogenic piston pump has crosshead structure and inclined cup shape piston tip. As the results, it was found that i) insulation of heat flow from piston-rod part is required for stable operation ii) improving the self-clearance adjustment effect of piston tip and reducing piston eccentricity were desirable to promote pumping pressure and operating range.

  • In this paper, propose an optimal design to improve the mechanical efficiency of gate valve made by forging method. In order to design the experiments using table of orthogonal array and optimization design is conducted as application of real response model to Taguchi method based approximation model using computer simulation. Also, from verification of the response model with optimized results was confirmed that usefulness and reliance of application Taguchi method to structural optimum design using finite element analysis and equation.

B-Spline곡선을 이용한 지정된 전계조건하의 전극형상 설계 (Design of Electrode Shape with B-Spline Curve Under Specified Field Condition)

  • This paper aims at the design of high voltage electrode contour under specified field condition. Defining the contour with B-Spline curve, the number of contour variables can be reduced and very smooth electrode can be obtained. For the analysis of the electric field, Surface Charge Method which has advantages in practical model has been used. As an initial contour, the rod-plane gap has been used since the difference between maximum and minimum field value is relatively large. Various field conditions including uniform field condition are given to the end of the rod electrode. Under uniform field condition, authors designed an electrode whose field-deviation was under 0.5%. Finally, the relation between the curvature and field of the electrode has been checked, which showed that B-Spline curve is appropriate for the shape function.

상하부 2개의 노외계측기를 이용한 축방향 출력분포 감시계통 개발 (Development of Axial Power Distribution Monitoring System Using Two-Level Encore Detector)

  • 상하부 2개의 노외계측기, 노입구관 온도 및 제어봉 위치 신호를 이용하여 상세한 축방향 출력분포를 계산할 수 있는 APDMS프로그램을 개발하였다. 상하부 2개의 노외계측기 신호가 제어봉 위치에 의하여 결정된 제어봉 간섭계수와 노입구관 온도에 따른 온도 간섭계수에 대하여 보정된 후 노심 주변출력을 얻기 위하여 보정된 노외계측기 신호에 shape annealing matrix가 적용되었다. 노심의 상하부 경계에서의 출력을 얻기 위해서는 평균 노심출력과 주변출력과의 선형적 관계를 이용한 노심 상하부의 평균출력에 경계점 출력보정계수가 적용되었다. 축방향 출력분포가 2개의 노외계측기에 의해 계산된 상하부 평균 노심출력, 상하부 경계면에서의 출력 및 미리 계산된 노심의 중심 위치에서의 출력을 이용하여 spline approximation에 의하여 계산되었다. 연소도, 출력준위, 제어봉 위치 및 axial offset의 변화에도 불구하고 고리 3호기 4주기에 대하여 BOXER 코드와 APDMS 프로그램에 의해 계산된 축방향 출력분포의 비교는 5% root mean square 오차내에서 일치함을 보여 주었다.

신경회로망 기법을 사용한 액체금속원자로 봉다발의 형상최적화 (Shape Optimization of LMR Fuel Assembly Using Radial Basis Neural Network Technique)

  • In this work, shape optimization of a wire-wrapped fuel assembly in a liquid metal reactor has been carried out by combining a three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes analysis with the radial basis neural network method, a well known surrogate modeling technique for optimization. Sequential Quadratic Programming is used to search the optimal point from the constructed surrogate. Two geometric design variables are selected for the optimization and design space is sampled using Latin Hypercube Sampling. The optimization problem has been defined as a maximization of the objective function, which is as a linear combination of heat transfer and friction loss related terms with a weighing factor. The objective function value is more sensitive to the ratio of the wire spacer diameter to the fuel rod diameter than to the ratio of the wire wrap pitch to the fuel rod diameter. The optimal values of the design variables are obtained by varying the weighting factor.

Distribution of Potential Rise as a Function of Shape of Grounding Electrodes

  • In order to analyze the potential rise of grounding systems installed in buildings, a hemispherical grounding simulation system was studied. Potential rise was measured and analyzed regarding the shape and distance of the grounding electrodes by using this system. The system was composed of a hemispherical water tank, AC power supply, a movable potentiometer, and test grounding electrodes. The potential rise was measured in real time by the horizontal moving probe of be potentiometer. The test grounding electrodes were fabricated through reducing the grounding electrode installed in real buildings such as the ground rod, grounding grid and so on. The potential rise was displayed in a two-dimensional profile and was analyzed regarding the shapes of the ground electrodes. The potential rise of the grounding grid combined with a ground rod was the lowest of every grounding electrode tested. The proposed results can be applicable to evaluating ground potential rise in grounding systems, and the analytical data can be used to stabilize the electrical installations and prevent electrical disasters.
