Feasibility of Copper Powder Fabrication by Ball Milling of Copper Chip Scrap Occurred During Cutting Process of Copper Pipe (구리 관(管)의 절단(切斷) 공정(工程)중 발생한 구리칩 스크랩의 볼밀링에 의한 구리 분말(粉末) 제조(製造) 가능성(可能性))

  • Copper chip scrape has been occurred by cutting of copper pipe. The feasibility of copper chip scrape into the copper powder by milling was studied. Two milling type such as rod milling and horizontal balling milling were applied in this research. Copper chip can not fragmented into powder by using rod milling. In contrast to rod milling, copper chip can be changed into powder by horizontal ball milling for above 36 hours. It was found that recycling of copper chip scraps into copper powder by horizontal ball milling is possible and powder fraction percent ($75{\sim}150{\mu}m$) of milled copper chip for 48 hours is 25.3%.

  • In this paper, We have studied internal quality incluiding chemical compositions, microscopic structrue and nonmetalic inclusion of test materials. We have analyzed dynamic characteristics of cutting resistence including tensile strength value, hardeness value, impact value etcs. We have compared chip treatments of test materials. In analyzing internal quality, all of test materials have typical ferrite+pearlite structure. But, nonmetallic inclusion have oxide and sulfide inclusion in medium carbon steels, mainly sulfide inclusion is existed in S-free cutting steels. In Ca+S-free cutting steels, calcium aluminate and sulfide complex inclusion, had low-melting points, as deformation of sulfide and oxide inclusion is existed. machining characteristics, cutting resistence is maximum in Ca+S-free cutting steels, minimum in medium carbon steels. Chip treatements are excellent in S-free cutting steels, similar to the Ca+S free cutting steels and medium carbon steels.

  • The cross section of the circular rod type workpiece to be cut in the band saw machine is variable at every moment in the sawing process. When the cutting feed rate is fixed to the constant speed, the cutting edges of the band saw teeth are also variabl eat any moment, so this causes the wear of the land saw teeth and the deterioration of the quality in the surface roughness. In this study, to work out this kind of problem basically, the mean cutting force of a tooth in the band saw was estimated by using the workpiece which was smaller than the interval of each tooth, i.e. band saw pitch, in the thickness. Then the static cutting forces were predicted by appling the mean cutting forces referred above to the mechanistic cutting force model which were analyzed through the geometric profile of a band saw tooth.

  • In this paper, a micro-turning lathe is introduced for micro machining of aluminum rod. To give feed motion, stepwise motion[2] actuators are used instead of the conventional inchworm mechanism. These are consisted of two Piezoelectric ceramics; one is for feeding the slider, and the other is for clamping the slider in the guide way of the body. The guide is V-form. The linearity and positional accuracy of the actuators is good enough far high precision motion. Since the system is more compact than the conventional system using three Piezoelectric ceramics, it is applicable for the micro-machine or MEMS unit. To fabricate the lathe, a small spindle unit with ball bearings of diameter of 10 millimeter is built-up on the top the slider. The motion is feed backed with miniaturized linear encoder attached each axis slider. The diamond tool bite is used for cutting tool. The machining is tried to make small diameter rod. The possible diameter that can be machined in this machine is presented as well as chip formation, surface roughness, and machinability.

  • For dismantling heavy structure under special environment in radioactivity, there are many problems which should be tele-operated and feedback a cutting force for cutting a thick structure such as concrete. When operator dismantles a thick heavy concrete structure, it is in sufficient to judge whether robot is contacting or not with environment by using only vision information. To overcome this problem, force feedback and impedance model based bilateral control are introduced. The sliding mode control with sliding perturbation observer (SMCSPO) based bilateral control is applied and surveyed to a single rod hydraulic cylinder in this paper. The sliding mode control is used for robustness against a disturbance. The sliding perturbation observer is used for estimation of a reaction force such as cutting force. The bilateral control is executed using the information of reaction force estimated by SMCSPO. The contribution of this paper is that the estimation method and bilateral control of the single rod hydraulic cylinder are introduced and discussed by experiment.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the machining technique of the constant control of cutting speed in order to improve precision machining and tool life in high speed machining using ball end mill. Cutting speed is changed in machining free form surface like free form surface. So, we don't have supreme surface form and toll life on machining. The way to solving this problem is that we should be settled to optimal cutting speed in free form surface machining. And, to improve precision machining is executed high speed machining method to output optimum NC data with developed constant control of cutting speed program after modeling of CAD/CAM. In this paper, a comparison was made of the cutting precision and tool life in conventional cutting and those in free form surface machining applying the program developed.

But nonmetallic inclusion showed oxide and sulfide inclusions in medium carbon steels, and sulfide inclusion is S-free cutting steels. In ca+ S-free cutting steels, the calcium aluminate and sulfide complex inclusion had low-melting points as deformation of sulfide and oxide inclusion is existed. It was found that tensile strength and hardness give maximum value in medium carbon steels, where as minimum in Ca + -free cutting steels. But values of elongation, reduction of area impact are reverse. Fracture surface of impact specimen is ductile in free cutting steels but brittle in medium cabon steels.
