The purpose of this treatise is to estimate speed of an induction motor and realize a robust speed control system with estimated speed in field-weakening region. A speed estimation is based on Model Reference Adaptive System(MRAS) technique and two flux estimator are designed to be robust against parameter variation. The MRAS-based overall control scheme has been implemented on 7.5kW Spindle induction motor control system. And it is verified that the proposed control scheme is very stable and robust in field-weakening region.

A robust adaptive speed sensorless induction motor direct torque control (DTC) using a neural network (NN) is presented in this paper. The inherent lumped uncertainties of the induction motor DTC system such as parametric uncertainty, external load disturbance and unmodeled dynamics are approximated by the NN. An additional robust control term is introduced to compensate for the reconstruction error. A control law and adaptive laws for the weights in the NN, as well as the bounding constant of the lumped uncertainties are established so that the whole closed-loop system is stable in the sense of Lyapunov. The effect of the speed estimation error is analyzed, and the stability proof of the control system is also proved. Experimental results as well as computer simulations are presented to show the validity and efficiency of the proposed system.
To achieve high performance speed regulation, a robust adaptive speed controller is proposed for the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) subject to parameter uncertainties and input saturations in this paper. A nonlinear adaptive control is introduced to compensate the PMSM speed tracking errors due to uncertainties, disturbances and control input saturation constraints. By combining the adaptive control and the nonlinear robust control based on the interconnection and damping assignment (IDA) strategy, a new robust adaptive control is designed for speed regulation of PMSM. Stability and robustness of the closed-loop control system involved with the constrained control inputs rather than unconstrained control inputs are validated. Simulations for PMSM control in the presence of uncertainties and saturations nonlinearities show that the proposed approach is effective to regulate speed, and the average tracking error using the proposed approach is at least 32% smaller than the compared methods.

In this paper, a robust two-degree-of-freedom(TDF) the speed control system using $H_{\infty}$ optimization method and real genetic algorithm is proposed for the robust stability and the robust performance in dc servo motor system. This control system composed of feedback and feedforward controller. The feedback(FB) controller with $H_{\infty}$ optimization method is designed for real genetic algorithm that is model matching problem using mixed sensitivity function. The feedforward(FF) controller with $H_{\infty}$optimization method is minimized the error between transfer function of the optimal model and the overall transfer function. The proposed robust two-degree-of-freedom speed control system is simulated to the dc servo motor. By the simulation, feedback controller can obtain the robust stability property and feedforward controller can obtain the robust performance property under modelling error. The performance of the dc servo motor is analyzed by the experiment setting. The validity of the proposed method is verified through being compared with pid(proportional integrated differential)control system design method for the dc servo motor.
In this paper, an intelligent sliding-mode speed controller for achieving favorable decoupling control and high precision speed tracking performance of permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives is proposed. The intelligent controller consists of a sliding-mode controller (SMC) in the speed feed-back loop in addition to an on-line trained wavelet-neural-network controller (WNNC) connected in parallel with the SMC to construct a robust wavelet-neural-network controller (RWNNC). The RWNNC combines the merits of a SMC with the robust characteristics and a WNNC, which combines artificial neural networks for their online learning ability and wavelet decomposition for its identification ability. Theoretical analyses of both SMC and WNNC speed controllers are developed. The WNN is utilized to predict the uncertain system dynamics to relax the requirement of uncertainty bound in the design of a SMC. A computer simulation is developed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed intelligent sliding mode speed controller. An experimental system is established to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control system. All of the control algorithms are implemented on a TMS320C31 DSP-based control computer. The simulated and experimental results confirm that the proposed RWNNC grants robust performance and precise response regardless of load disturbances and PMSM parameter uncertainties.

This study suggests a new type shaft generating system driven by hydrostatic transmission suitable for small size vessels. Since the shaft generating system is affected ceaselessly by disturbances such as speed variation in pump driving speed and variation in external load, a robust servo control must be implemented to obtain stable electric power with constant frequency. Thus, in this study, a digital robust servo control algorithm is applied to the controller design. By the experiment and the numerical computation, the frequency variation characteristics of the generating system under various disturbances are investigated. Conclusively, it is said that the shaft generating system proposed in this study shows excellent control performances.
This paper proposes a robust speed control algorithm of Induction Motor. The main idea of this paper is to compensate the torque component of motor current with load torque observer and feedforward control. The speed response of the conventional PI controller is affected by variation of system parameters. However the proposed system has robust characteristics against the variation of system parameters. The simulation results and experiment prove the validity of proposed algorithm.
This paper deals with the robust speed regulation of a surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) that is subject to parametric uncertainties and external disturbances. The proposed approach retains a conventional cascade control configuration composed of an outer-loop speed control module and inner-loop current control modules. Baseline proportional-integral (PI) controllers are designed for nominal modular systems without accounting for the uncertainties to set a desired control performance of the closed-loop system. After studied in both frequency and time domains, a reduced-order proportional-integral observer (PIO), as a modular disturbance observer, is incorporated with each control module to maintain the ideal performance of the modules. Theoretical analysis confirms the desired performance recovery of the augmented system with modular PIOs to the nominal system. Comparative computer simulations and experimental results validate the proposed cascade control method for SPMSM speed regulation.

In this paper, the robust PID(Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controller was designed for speed control of BLDC motors using the frequency region model matching method. It was designed the robust PID controller satisfying disturbance attenuation and robust tracking performance using an H$\infty$ control method. The robust PID controller gains with the performances of the designed H$\infty$ controller are determined using the model matching method at frequency domain. Consequently, simulation results show that the proposed PID speed controller satisfies load torque disturbance attenuation and robust tracking performance, and this study has usefulness and applicability for the speed control system design of BLDC motors.

This paper presents a method about the modeling of the medium - small diesel engine for the speed control and designs the robust speed control system by the $\mu$-synthesis, which has good performance, in spite of the existence of model uncertainities and the external disturbance. We confirmed the validity of the proposed modeling method and the designed control system by $\mu$-synthesis through the experimental responses.
