Smart cities are expected to provide residents with convenience via various agents such as CCTV, delivery robots, security robots, and unmanned shuttles. Environmental data collected by various agents can be used for various purposes, including advertising and security monitoring. This study suggests a surveillance map data framework for efficient and integrated multimodal data representation from multi-agents. The suggested surveillance map is a multilayered global information grid, which is integrated from the multimodal data of each agent. To confirm this, we collected surveillance map data for 4 months, and the behavior patterns of humans and vehicles, distribution changes of elevation, and temperature were analyzed. Moreover, we represent an anomaly detection algorithm based on a surveillance map for security service. A two-stage anomaly detection algorithm for unusual situations was developed. With this, abnormal situations such as unusual crowds and pedestrians, vehicle movement, unusual objects, and temperature change were detected. Because the surveillance map enables efficient and integrated processing of large multimodal data from a multi-agent, the suggested data framework can be used for various applications in the smart city.
Purpose: With the popularity of artificial intelligence (AI) in the service industry and occurrence ofservice failures in AI-based services, understanding human-robot interaction issues in service failure situations is especially important. Some issues which deserve further empirical investigation are whether consumers can develop the same tolerance for chatbots after service failure as they have for human agents, and the relationship between agent type and tolerance is mediated by the mechanisms of perceived warmth and perceived competence. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: This research experimentally collected and analyzed data from 119 university students who had experienced chatbots service failures. Differences in tolerance towards human agents and chatbots after experiencing service failures were explored, with a further examination of the mediating pathways between this relationship via perceived warmth and perceived competence. Results: Consumers are more tolerant ofservice failure with chatbots compared to service failure with human agents. Significant mediation of the relationship between service agent and service failure tolerance by perceived competence, while perceived warmth has no significant mediating effect. Conclusions: This research enhances our understanding of AI-assisted services, human-computer interaction, improves the service functionality of existing smart devices, and deepens the understanding of the relationship between consumer responses and behaviors.
In this paper, we propose a method to optimize the geometry and installation position of the mixer in the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system by computational fluid dynamic(CFD). Using the commercial CFD software of CFD-ACE+, the flow dynamics of the flue gas was numerically analyzed for improving the injection uniformity of the reduction agent. Numerical analysis of the mixed gas heat flow into the upstream side of the primary SCR catalyst layer was performed when the denitrification facility was operated. The characteristics such as the flow rate, temperature, pressure loss and ammonia concentration of the mixed gas consisting of the flue gas and the ammonia reducing gas were examined at the upstream of the catalyst layer of SCR. The temperature difference on the surface of the catalyst layer is very small compared to the flow rate of the exhaust gas, and the temperature difference caused by the reducing gas hardly occurs because the flow rate of the reducing gas is very small. When the mixed gas is introduced into the SCR reactor, there is a slight tendency toward one wall. When the gas passes through the catalyst layer having a large pressure loss, the flow angle of the exhaust gas changes because the direction of the exhaust gas changes toward a smaller flow. Based on the uniformity of the flow rate of the mixed gas calculated at the SCR, it is judged that the position of the test port reflected in the design is proper.
We aim to investigate the effects of task type and user gender on the expected gender of chatbots. We conducted an online study of 381 participants who selected the gender (female, male, or neutral) for chabots performing six different tasks. Our results indicate that users expect human- gendered chatbots for all tasks and that the expected gender of a chatbot is significantly different depending on the task type. Users expected chatting, counseling, healthcare and clerical work to be done by female chatbots; professional and customer service work were expected to be done by male chatbots. A tendency for participants to prefer chatbots of the same-gendered as themselves is revealed in several tasks for both male and female users. However, this homophily tendency is stronger for female users. We conclude by suggesting practical guidelines for designing chatbot services that reflect user expectations.
