  • In this paper, web based monitoring systems are implemented for multi-axis force control systems of an intelligence robot. A web based monitoring system is implemented by porting Linux at embeded systems which include Xscale processors. A divice driver is developed to receive data from multy-axis force sensors in Linux operation systems. To control this device driver, a soket program for web browser is also developped.

  • The laser tracking system(LTS) presents the most promising technique for dynamic position measurement of industrial robots. This system combine the advantage of high accuracy with a contactless measurement technique. It is the measurement system of position in three dimensions using distance data obtained by laser interferometer and real time angle by tracking mirror assembly. After measuring the tracking error of the beam projected on the center of retroreflector in robot end effector, this system tracks the end effector continuously by adjusting tracking mirror angle to minimize this error ...

  • In this Paper, we present analysis on the dynamics of human swing and its realization by a miniaturized humanoid robot. Since the motion of legs is the most important in the swing, the swing system can be approximated as a double pendulum. Based on Lagrangian analysis, the leg motion is designed to make the swing motion as sustained oscillation. In order to detect the peak instant of the swing and to synchronize the leg motion with the swing, we use ADXL acceleration/inclination sensor. The miniaturized humanoid in this paper has total 20 DOFs including 6 DOFs in each leg, 34cm in height, and 2kg in weight. As a result of realization of the swing by the humanoid, the sustained oscillation is verified through experiments.

  • In this paper, a study of advanced sound source localization is conducted by eliminating the noise of the sound source using the discrete wavelet transform. And experiments are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed system that the mobile robot follows sound source stably. In addition, we compare the position estimation performance by applying a discrete wavelet transform to improve the reliability of the sound signal. The experimental results reveal that the de-nosing filter which removes the noise component in sound source can make the performance of position estimation more precisely and help the mobile robot distinguish the objective sound source clearly.

  • In the development of a high speed and light weight manipulator, it is necessary to consider the flexibility of a robotic arm. The infinite dynamics must be analyzed to obtain the finite mode modeling to achieve the feasible controller design of the robotic arm. The modeling procedures of the flexible robot arm, and natural frequencies and mode shapes by the constrained and unconstrained mode method are illustrated. The transfer function of the robot arm with a payload is also shown. The controller is designed by the pole assignment and optimal control theory to compensate for the unmodelled dynamic effects to the low order system. Also, the pole assignment method involving the harmonic vibration mode is presented through computer simulation.

  • The Controller Area Network (CAN) is being widely used for real-time control application and small-scale distributed computer controller systems. However, CAN may exhibit unfair behavior under heavy traffic conditions. When there are both high and low priority messages ready for transmission, the proposed precedence priority filtering method allows one low priority message to be exchanged between any two adjacent higher priority messages. In this way, the length of each transmission delays is upper bounded. These procedures are implemented as local controllers for the ISHURO (Inha Semyung Humanoid RObot).

  • The Controller Area Network (CAN) is being widely used in real-time control applications such as automobiles, aircraft, and automated factories. Unfortunately, CAN, in its current form, is not able to either share out the system bandwidth among the different devices fairly or to grant an upper bound on the transmission times experienced by the nodes connected to the communication medium as it happens, for instance, in the token-based networks. In this paper, we present the message scheduling for CAN, based on the distributed control scheme to integrate actuators and sensors in a humanoid robot. Besides introducing the new algorithm, this paper also presents some performance figures obtained using a specially developed software simulator, while the behavior of the new algorithm is compared with the traditional CAN systems, in order to see how effective they are.

  • In order to comprise a basic closed-loop control system for a field robot it is necessary to detect the piston rod stroke of a hydraulic cylinder. There are mary conventional type sensors which can detect the displacement of cylinders. However, they cannot reveal the original performance normally or the cannot be applied at all where the operating circumstance of cylinders is beyond specifications of sensors. In this paper, an exclusive method for detecting the piston rod stroke is suggested, which adopts a remote detecting technique using optical fiber sensors. Several experiments using the prototype are executed for verifying the effectiveness of the suggested method and the possibility of the accurate detection of stroke.

  • The skid-steering method that applied a number of mobile robot currently is very effective in narrow area. But it contains several problems of its natural properties, slip, occurred by different direction between vehicle's driving and wheel's rotary. From this thesis we want to suggest suitable structure of $6{\times}6$ skid steering wheeled vehicle and method of driving by analyzing the behavior of $6{\times}6$ skid-steered wheeled vehicle by engineering analytical method
