A Study on Edge Detection Algorithm in Salt & Pepper Noise Environments (Salt & Pepper 잡음 환경에서 에지 검출 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • Edge detection for such as image, lane and object recognition is important image processing method. And some traditional method for this, there are Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts, Laplacian, LoG(Laplacian of Gaussian) and so on. Characteristics of these methods are insufficient in the salt & pepper noise added image. In order to improve such a problem of conventional methods, in this paper, we proposed an algorithm applying the weighted mask for detecting an edge by setting the local mask centered on the adjacent of the central pixel if central pixel of the mask is non-noise, it is intactly set by element of estimated mask, after calculating estimated mask if it is noise.

  • Edge detection is an important step in determining the performance of lane recognition, object and pattern detection, and so on. And much research has been done until now. Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts, and Canny edge detection algorithms are widely known. However, these algorithms are often judged to be a non-edge region when processing a smooth change in brightness value. Therefore, in this paper, edge detection algorithm using gray-level morphology using erosion, expansion, open and close in the mask area. is proposed.

  • Currently, edge detection is utilized in various areas. Edge detection is the preprocessing process for image processing in general, and this is a technology that is considered essential for image processing. According, research on this subject is carried out incessantly. Edge has important image related elements such as size, direction and location of the object of an image. Numerous methods were proposed for the detection. Among them, the representative methods are Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts, Laplacian. However, these existing methods are rather lacking when it comes to the edge detection characteristics in case of the image with mixed noise. Therefore, this study presented edge detection method that utilizes median and average values for the elements depending on the size and location of local mask.

  • Image processing is presently used in various areas such as smart phone, smart TV, and portable PC. Likewise, edge detection plays an important role in most of the applications. As such, studies for the detection of edge are continually underway. Roberts, Laplacian and LoG(lapacian of Gaussian) are the representative edge detection methods, but these methods do not offer optimal edge detection characteristic in case of the image that is damaged by Salt & Pepper noises. As such, this study presented algorithm with superior edge detection characteristic by utilizing the elements of local mask in Salt & Pepper noise environment.

  • In modern society, the use of the image processing field is increasing rapidly due to the 4th industrial revolution and the development of IoT technology. In particular, edge detection is widely used in various fields as an essential preprocessing process in image processing applications such as image classification and object detection. Conventional methods for detecting an edge include a Sobel edge detection filter, a Roberts edge detection filter, a Prewitt edge detection filter, Laplacian of Gaussian (LoG), and the like. However, existing methods have the disadvantage of showing somewhat insufficient performance of edge detection characteristics in a low-light level environment with low contrast. Therefore, this paper proposes an edge detection algorithm based on contrast analysis to increase edge detection characteristics even in low-light level environments.

  • Edge detection includes information such as the shape, position, size, and material of an object with respect to an image, and is a very important factor in analyzing the characteristics of the image. Existing edge detection methods include Sobel edge detection filter, Roberts edge detection filter, Prewitt edge detection filter, and LoG (Lapacian of Gaussian) using secondary differentials. However, these methods have a disadvantage in that the edge detection results are somewhat insufficient because a fixed weight mask is applied to the entire image area. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an edge detection algorithm that increases edge detection characteristics by considering the center pixel in the mask. In addition, in order to confirm the proposed edge detection performance, it was compared through simulation result images.

  • 배출권거래제도의 비용절감효과를 분석함에 있어 요소간 대체가능성 등 외부환경 변화에 대한 기업의 적응도를 반영하지 않은 공학적 추정치는 그 신뢰성에 한계가 있다. 또한 경제학적 분석방식을 시도한 연구의 대부분이 외부거래만을 대상으로 해온 반면에 거래실적의 다수를 차지하고 있는 내부거래에 대한 연구는 미미한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 Gollop and Roberts (1985)의 경제학적 추정모형을 이용하여 미국 석탄발전소를 대상으로 $SO_2$ 배출권에 대한 내부거래의 비용절감정도를 측정한 후 효과의 크기 변에서 외부거래와의 차이를 규명하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 에지 추출 알고리즘을 비교하여 알고리즘이 영상 처리 과정에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 기존의 에지 추출 알고리즘인 Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts 등을 비교 분석 한 뒤 1차 미분 조건에 2차 미분의 단점을 보완한 에지 추출 마스크 방식을 제안한다.

  • We have developed and analyzed numerically a simple ordinary differential equation for a mush. Numerical solutions illustrate that the solid fraction at the bottom of the mush increases and the depth of the mush decreases when convection increases. The results are consistent to those observed in experiments with aqueous solutions of ammonium chloride(Loper & Roberts[11], Chen & Chen[2], Tait & Jaupart[11])and in experiments with lead-tin alloys(Hellawell etc.[6]).

  • 이 논문은 다양한 환경에서도 차선 검출이 가능하도록 하기 위해 각종 Edge detection algorithm을 이용하고 있다. Roberts 연산 후 이진화를 행함으로써 미세한 부분까지 예지를 얻고 있으며, 이것은 다시 영역을 분할 후 Hough transform을 행한다. 또한 기울기 및 주변 값을 이용하여 차선 인식률을 높이고 있다. 그리고, Hough transform의 단점인 시간이 오래 걸리는 단점을 해결하기 위해 이미지 크기를 축소하는 방법과 영역 분할과 같은 방법을 통해서 이를 해결하고자 한다.
