  • In this research, an analysis of damaged instance and forming fault for disc part in automotive steel wheel was performed. Rolled steel material, which had been used in the manufacturing of the damaged disc part, was prepared for tensile test, quantitative analysis of chemical component and acquirement of scanning electron microscope images. Although the results of mechanical properties and chemical component ratio for the material satisfied the suggested specification, some material inherent problem was found in the scanning electron microscope images. Finally, in an analysis of chemical component for the damaged disc part used in road condition, mismatching of chemical component ratio between the suggested specification and test result was found.

  • Recently, the number of vehicles equipped with cameras that are generally used to recognize surroundings is increasing. For robust recognition, a huge amount of tests under various environments are performed. Furthermore, the installation position or orientation of the camera is also changed depending on the vehicle. This change also accompanies many tests. Correspondingly, a large cost and a great deal of manpower are required to perform these tests. This paper proposes a method to cut these costs while conducting enough tests through the construction of a database of videos and a geometric transformation of images.

  • A radiometric correction method is developed to apply multi-temporal KOMPSAT-1 EOC satellite images for the detection of land-cover changes b\ulcorner recognizing changes in reflection pattern. Radiometric correction was carried out to eliminate the atmospheric effects that could interfere with the image properly of the satellite data acquired at different multi-times. Four invariant features of water, sand, paved road, and roofs of building are selected and a linear regression relationship among the control set images is used as a correction scheme. It is found that the utilization of panchromatic multi-temporal imagery requires the radiometric scene standardization process to correct radiometric errors that include atmospheric effects and digital image processing errors. Land-cover with specific change pattern such as paddy field is extracted by seasonal change recognition process.

  • The road network becomes more complex and extensive. Therefore, the inconveniences are caused in accordance with the time delay of the restoration of damaged roads, demands for excessive costs on information collection, and limitations on acquisition of damage information of the roads. Recently, road centric spatial information is gathered using mobile multi sensor system for road inventory. But expensive MMS(Mobile Mapping System) equipments require high maintenance costs from beginning and takes a lot of time in the data processing. So research is needed for continuous maintenance by collecting and displaying the damaged information on a digital map using low cost mobile camera system. In this research we aim to develop the techniques for mosaic with a regular ground sample distance using successive image from oblique camera on a vehicle. For doing this, mosaic image is generated by estimating the homography of high resolution oblique image, and the ground sample distance and appropriate overlap are analyzed using high resolution aerial oblique images which contain resolution target. Based on this we have proposed the appropriate overlap and exposure interval for mobile road inventory system.

  • This paper presents a new comparison method for haze-removal algorithms in next-generation automotive systems. Compared to previous peak signal-to-noise ratio-based comparisons, which measure similarity, the proposed modulation transfer function-based method checks sharpness to select a more suitable haze-removal algorithm for lane detection. Among the practical filtering schemes used for a haze-removal algorithm, experimental results show that Gaussian filtering effectively preserves the sharpness of road images, enhancing lane detection accuracy.

  • In this paper, a simplified visualization method is proposed for an urban space in consideration of weather and sun moving. In the proposed method, buildings and roads with shadows are visualized by the ray tracing algorithm. Also sky, snow, and rain are visualized by textures. Some textures such as snow and rain are generated in advance by the ray casting algorithm. Then we can obtain images with weather condition and shadows of sunlight by buildings along the road in relatively low computational cost

  • Recognition of licence plate becomes a key issue to many traffic related application such as road traffic monitoring or parking lots access control. In this paper, the brightness, YIQ and HSI methods were used to locate a license. After the characters in license plate were extracted, template matching method was applied for character recognitions. To test the performance of the proposed algorithm, images of seventy vehicle were tested. The success rates for license plate and character recognition were approximately 99%, and 96%, respectively

  • This paper proposed to a detection scheme of weather information that is a part of CCTV Images Weather Detection System using CCTV images and Temperature, Humidity. The previous Partial Weather Detection System uses how to acquire weather information using images on the Road. In the system the contrast and RGB Values using clear images are gained. This information is distributed a input images to cloud, rain, snow and fog images. That is, this information is compared the snow and the fog images for acquisition more correctness information us ing difference images and binary images. Currently, We use to environment sense system, but we suggest a new Weather Detection Algorithm to detect weather information using CCTV images. Our algorithm is designed simply and systematically to detect and separate special characteristics of images from CCTV images. and using temperature & humidity in formation. This algorithm, there is more complex to implement than how to use DB with high overhead of time and space in the previous system. But our algorithm can be implement with low cost' and can be use the system in real work right away. Also, our algorithm can detect the exact information of weather with adding in formation including temperature, humidity, date, and time. At last, this paper s how the usefulness of our algorithm.

  • This paper examines that is extracted certain information in forest areas within high resolution imagery based on wavelet transformation. First of all, study areas are selected one more species distributed spots refer to forest type map. Next, study area is cut 256 x 256 pixels size because of image processing problem in large volume data. Prior to wavelet transformation, five texture parameters (contrast, dissimilarity, entropy, homogeneity, Angular Second Moment (ASM≫ calculated by using Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM). Five texture images are set that shifting window size is 3x3, distance .is 1 pixel, and angle is 45 degrees used. Wavelet function is selected Daubechies 4 wavelet basis functions. Result is summarized 3 points; First, Wavelet transformation images derived from contrast, dissimilarity (texture parameters) have on effect on edge elements detection and will have probability used forest road detection. Second, Wavelet fusion images derived from texture parameters and original image can apply to forest area classification because of clustering in Homogeneous forest type structure. Third, for grading evaluation in forest fire damaged area, if data fusion of established classification method, GLCM texture extraction concept and wavelet transformation technique effectively applied forest areas (also other areas), will obtain high accuracy result.

  • In this study, the hydrosphere change of the Daecheong dam basin was detected qualitatively and quantitatively using Landsat satellite images until recentness since the construction of Daecheong dam. The hydrosphere change of the basin was analyzed by applying supervised classification about Landsat satellite images which were classified according to the hydrosphere, vegetation, road and etc. for four distinct years which are 1981, 1987, 1993, and 2002 year. Landsat satellite images of each year were achieved overlay analysis with extracting only the hydrosphere, and though these results, the hydrosphere change of the Daecheong dam basin was monitored efficiently.
