This study aims at the development of a mathematical approach for the optimal water allocation in the river basin where available water is not in sufficient. Its optimal allocation model is determined from the comparison and analysis of mathematical programming techniques such as transportation programming and dynamic programming models at its optimal allocation models. The water allocation system used in this study is designed to be the optimal water allocation which can satisfy the water deficit in each district through inter-basin water transfer between Kumho river basin which is a tributary catchment of Nakdong river basin, and the adjacent Hyungsan river basin, Milyang river basin and Nakdong upstream river basin. A general rule of water allocation is obtained for each district in the basins as the result of analysis of the optimal water allocation in the water allocation system. Also a comparison of the developed models proves that there is no big difference between the models Therefore transportation programming model indicates most adequate to the complex water allocation system in terms of its characteristics It can be seen, however, that dynamic programming model shows water allocation effect which produces greater net benefit more or less.

The Yellow River, one of the longest rivers in the world and the second longest river in the north of China, enjoys the reputation of "Mother River". In recent years, more and more researches have pointed to the traditional culture of the Yellow River Basin. The traditional sports of the Yellow River basin belong to the ancient culture of the Yellow River basin. We assume the responsibility in protection and inheritance. This paper from the coupling of tourism and traditional sports to unfold the study by using the methods of literature and data, logical analysis, expert interview methods and so on: 1. The development of tourism leads to the development of Chinese traditional sports. 2. Tourism can make traditional sports get around and promote them as a kind of culture. 3. Let more people know, understand and learn traditional sports culture in a comfortable way, so as to pave the way for the inheritance of traditional sports. The research results of this paper can provide theoretical basis for more research on the development and inheritance of traditional culture in the Yellow River Basin.
By analyzing the concurrent rainfall data from rainfall gauges positioned in the Youngsan River basin, the areal reduction factors related to the rainfall characteristics of the Youngsan River basin are estimated. The estimated values are compared with the values of the Han River basin, and show that the rate of decrease of the areal reduction factors of the Youngsan River basin are smaller than those of the Han River basin as the basin area is increasing. That is especially true for short-term duration storm events. These findings reveal that the spatial variations in the Youngsan River basin's storms are smaller than the spatial variations of the storms In the Han River basin, due to the size of the two basin areas in addition to the topological characteristics that affect the rainfall distributions.

This research evaluates cooperation in transboundary rivers with special reference to the Great Mekong Subregion (GMS) program in the Mekong River Basin. The benefit sharing approach has been deployed as a theoretical framework to analyze the extent to which the riparian states have achieved cooperation. The river basin governance led by the Mekong River Commission since 1995 has not adequately performed due to non-participation of upstream countries and the lack of law enforcement mechanism. Since the late 1980s, China has undertaken hydropower development unilaterally, thereby triggering discomfort from the Lower Mekong countries. The GMS program has led China to strengthening economic ties with the downstream countries through hydropower development as investors and developers. The program has also supported the establishment of economic corridors, and removal of physical barriers and has paved the way for cooperation in other sectors, such as the environment, agriculture, tourism and energy. There are challenges for further cooperation, including the development gaps between China and the downstream countries, political tensions and environment impacts of hydropower dams in the river basin. The Mekong River Basin shows the possibility of cooperation through benefit sharing. Sharing benefits accrued from the river and beyond the river between China and the downstream countries have enhanced economic ties, thereby consolidating cooperation each another.

The Se San and Srepok river basins (2S) are the two major tributaries of the Mekong River, both of which originate in the territory of Viet Nam and flow to Cambodia to meet at Stung treng with the Sekong river (originating in Lao PDR) to form the 3S river basin before joining the Mekong mainstream. In the territory of Viet Nam, the 2S river basins are located in the Central Highlands including 5 provinces, arranged by geographical location from north to south namely Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Lam Dong. This is a region with a very important strategic position in terms of economy, politics and defense for the whole country with many potential advantages for economic development. However, the limited and vulnerable basin water resources are under the pressure of socio-economic development in line with increasing water demands for various sectors. In order to overcome the water management challenges, a long-term water resources planning has conducted to support the 2S River Basin Committee (RBC) in effective planning and operation as part of the WB Mekong-Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) Project. This paper introduces the outline and progress of the river basin planning using analytical DSS toolkits to analyze, evaluate and formulate the planning options.

The objective of this study is to find out geomorphological characteristics of historical ruins where people produced and consumed large jar coffins excavated in the Yeongsan river basin using the map of old drainage network to restore distribution network. For this purpose, we chose the 21 consumption sites. The results are as follows. First of all, large jar coffins(relics, 47.6% of total) in the Yeongsan River basin were located in Sampo stream basin, almost all of them were located within the Yeongsan River main stream basin and Sampo stream basin. Also, distance from all consumption site to river was within about 2km. Therefore, it is thought that the all consumption sites are located at the place of the gift of nature that was very favorable to water transport of jar coffins. The results of this study may be used as basic data for research of cultural relics in the Yeongsan river basin.

The Amazon River basin is one of the largest basins in the world, and its ecosystem is vital for biodiversity, hydrology, and climate regulation. Thus, understanding the hydrometeorological process is essential to the maintenance of the Amazon River basin. However, it is still tricky to monitor the Amazon River basin because of its size and the low density of the monitoring gauge network. To solve those issues, remote sensing products have been largely used. Yet, those products have some limitations. Therefore, this study aims to do bias corrections to improve the accuracy of Satellite Precipitation Products (SPPs) in the Amazon River basin. We use 331 rainfall stations for the observed data and two daily satellite precipitation gridded datasets (CHIRPS, TRMM). Due to the limitation of the observed data, the period of analysis was set from 1st January 1990 to 31st December 2010. The observed data were interpolated to have the same resolution as the SPPs data using the IDW method. For bias correction, we use convolution neural networks (CNN) combined with an autoencoder architecture (ConvAE). To evaluate the bias correction performance, we used some statistical indicators such as NSE, RMSE, and MAD. Hence, those results can increase the quality of precipitation data in the Amazon River basin, improving its monitoring and management.
The conflicts between environment protection and economic development are becoming increasingly important in environmental decision making of Nakdong River Basin. A science-based evaluation system is now needed to represent both the environmental values and the economic values with a common measure. EMERGY, spelled with an \"m\" evaluates both the work of river and that of human in generating products and services. The monetary cost-benefit analysis and the environmental accounting by EMERGY analysis were applied to determine whether there will have a net benefit in environmental decision making of Nakdong River Basin. Based on the results of the environmental accounting, all alternatives which related to environmental decision making of Nakdong River Basin show that more and more of EMERGY cost becomes needed than the a EMERGY benefit from getting water to drink in the lower basin. From these results, for selecting alternatives to manage water quantity and quality that is sustainable in the environmental use and economic development, environmental accounting concepts must be considered, and the economic structure of Nakdong River Basin should be changed from the present industrial structure to social-economic based on ecological-recycling concept for the sustainable use of Nakdong River.ong River.

To study run-off characteristics in the small watersheds in Korea, investigations had been carried out for a period of 4 years from 1972 to 1975 in the sample watersheds. The samples were selected in four major river basins such as the Han River, the Keum River, the Nakdong River and the Yongsan River. Water levels and rainfall data had been. collected from each sample area where the measuring instruments were installed. The findings of this investigation can be summarized as follows; 1. With an average runoff rate of 60% in the sample watersheds, the average runoff rate. in each sample proved to be as below; the Han River Basin : 41.4% the Keum River Basin : 61.7% the Nakdong River Basin : 69.4% the Yong San River Basin : 69.2% 2. The base flow rate in the sample watersheds proved to be 8.1 mm/month. 3. A comparison of the runoff obtained from actual measurements made and that calculated by the Kaijyama formula showed that the latter is 9.1% lower than the former.
