This study aimed to suggest an alternative income generation (AIG) for local artisanal fisheries communities in the southern coastal area of Bangladesh, which is vulnerable to climate change. To analyze the problems of local artisanal fisheries caused by climate change, field surveys and in-depth interviews with fishermen and government officials were conducted. Livelihood risk factor (LRF) in the marine fishing sector included reduction of fishing days and fish production and damage to fishing vessels and fishing gear due to cyclone and sea-level rise. LRF in the aquaculture sector included cultured fish escape, reduction of aquaculture production, and water pollution due to Monsoon flood. A common challenge for two sectors was high interest rate on commercial loans. Small-scale tank aquaculture is recommended as AIG for securing income of artisanal fisheries communities. In the early stages of dissemination of small-scale tank aquaculture technology, it is necessary to prevent fishermen from struggling to repay high-interest rate loans through technology transfer and facility support by official development assistance. The aquaculture training center, along with the technical education, will also contribute toward expansion of local distribution network and marketing support to establish a value chain for local artisanal fisheries communities.

With Beijing's success in bidding for the 2008 Olympic Games, the increasing demand for infrastructure development and reduced public sector funding capacity has created a significant funding gap which calls for alternative project delivery methods such as Public-Private Partnership (PPP). Although the exploration of infrastructure projects using PPP model have been practiced since the late 80s, the $560 million National Stadium which served as the main venue for the Olympic Games is the first stadium project in China to be delivered under PPP operation. The project is generally considered successful despite the concession transfer in 2009 with concern of better serving the public interest. Compared to other infrastructure projects such as transportation, waste management and water management, the development of major sports facilities for mega-sports events with PPP has its own unique features and is subject to different major risks. This research identifies and analyzes critical risks in the implementation of PPP in major sports facility development through case study of the National Stadium project. A questionnaire survey and several interviews are conducted to solicit expert opinions from experienced practitioners. The purpose is to provide additional insights in risk management strategies and opportunities in China's PPP implementations in major sports facilities for policy makers and private sectors involved with investment decisions in future similar infrastructure development.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist protocol using corifollitropin alfa in women undergoing assisted reproduction. Methods: Six hundred and eighty-six in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF)/ intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles were analyzed. In 113 cycles, folliculogenesis was induced with corifollitropin alfa and recombinant follicle stimulating hormone (rFSH), and premature luteinizing hormone (LH) surges were prevented with a GnRH antagonist. In the control group (573 cycles), premature LH surges were prevented with GnRH agonist injection from the midluteal phase of the preceding cycle, and ovarian stimulation was started with rFSH. The treatment duration, quality of oocytes and embryos, number of embryo transfer (ET) cancelled cycles, risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), and the chemical pregnancy rate were evaluated in the two ovarian stimulation protocols. Results: There were no significant differences in age and infertility factors between treatment groups. The treatment duration was shorter in the corifollitropin alfa group than in the control group. Although not statistically significant, the mean numbers of matured (86.8% vs. 85.1%) and fertilized oocytes (84.2% vs. 83.1%), good embryos (62.4% vs. 60.3%), and chemical pregnancy rates (47.2% vs. 46.8%) were slightly higher in the corifollitropin alfa group than in the control group. In contrast, rates of ET cancelled cycles and the OHSS risk were slightly lower in the corifollitropin alfa group (6.2% and 2.7%) than in the control group (8.2% and 3.5%), although these differences were also not statistically significant. Conclusion: Although no significant differences were observed, the use of corifollitropin alfa seems to offer some advantages to patients because of its short treatment duration, safety, lower ET cancellation rate and reduced risk of OHSS.
The priorities of siting restriction was derived from quantification of environmental hazard according to industrial classification based on 'Chemical Ranking and Scoring System(CRS)' which is handling the discharge characteristics of 31 industrial classifications regulated from locating at 'Industrial Complex in Rural Area(ICRA)'. CRS that is utilizing the data of 'Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers(PRTR)' is applied to determine human health risk and ecological risk which are calculated by discharged amount and materials $LC_{50}$ according to water, soil and air media based on industrial classification. From this process, exposure assessment and toxicity assessment for integrating the adverse environmental impact and the mitigation effect of environmental risk according to the development of environmental technologies into establishing the rational landuse management method for the 31 industrial classifications regulated from locating at ICRA was analyzed. From the assessment result of the siting restriction removal at ICRA for 31 industrial classifications, based on 2012 year reference 6 industries that includes Manufacture of Guilt Coloration Surface Processing Steel Materials, Manufacture of Biological Product, Manufacture of Smelting Refining and Alloys of Copper, Dyeing and Finishing of Fibers and Yarns, Manufacture of Other Basic Iron and Steel n.e.c., Rolling Drawing and Extruding of Non-ferrous Metals n.e.c. are calculated as having relatively lower environmental hazards, thus it is judged that the siting restriction mitigation at ICRA is possible for the 6 industrial classifications that are not discharging the specific hazardous water contaminants during manufacturing process.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has recognized the risk of hull fouling and announced '2011 Guidelines for the control and management of ship's biofouling to minimize the transfer of invasive aquatic species'and is planning international regulations to enforce them in the future. In this study, to effectively respond to future international regulation, we introduce the case of leading countries related to management of hull fouling and also investigate environmental risk assessment techniques for in-water cleaning. Australia and New Zealand, the leading countries in hull fouling management, have established hull fouling regulations through biological and chemical risk assessment based on in-water cleaning scenarios. Most European countries without their government regulation have been found to perform in-water cleaning in accordance with the IMO's hull fouling regulations. In the Republic of Korea, there is no domestic law for hull fouling organisms, and only approximately 17 species of marine ecological disturbance organisms, are designated and managed under the Marine Ecosystem Law. Since in-water cleaning is accompanied by diffusion of alien species and release of chemical substances into aquatic environments, results from biological as well as chemical risk assessment are performed separately, and then evaluation of in-water cleaning permission is judged by combining these two results. Biological risk assessment created 40 codes of in-water cleaning scenarios, and calculated Risk Priority Number (RPN) scores based on key factors that affect intrusion of alien species during in-water cleaning. Chemical risk assessment was performed using the MAMPEC (Marine Antifoulant Model to Predict Environmental Concentrations), to determine PEC and PNEC values based on copper concentration released during in-water cleaning. Finally, if the PEC/PNEC ratio is >1, it means that chemical risk is high. Based on the assumption that the R/V EARDO ship performs in-water cleaning at Busan's Gamcheon Port, biological risk was estimated to be low due to the RPN value was <10,000, but the PEC/PNEC ratio was higher than 1, it was evaluated as impossible for in-water cleaning. Therefore, it will be necessary for the Republic of Korea to develop the in-water cleaning technology by referring to the case of leading countries and to establish domestic law of ship's hull fouling management, suitable for domestic harbors.

Objective: The aims of this study were to provide the basic data for establishing a precautionary management policy and to develop a methodology for selecting a radon management priority target area suitable for the Korean domestic environment. Methods: A suitable mapping method for the domestic environment was derived by conducting a quantitative comparison of predicted values and measured values that were calculated through implementation of two models such as IDW and RBF methods. And a qualitative comparison including the clarity of information transmission of the written radon map was carried out. Results: The predicted and measured values were obtained through the implementation of the spatial analysis models. The IDW method showed the lowest in the calculated mean square error and had a higher correlation coefficient than the other methods. As results of comparing the uncertainty using the jackknife concept and the concept of error distance for comparison of the differences according to the model interpolation method, the sum of the error distances showed a modest increase compared with the RBF method. As a result of qualitatively comparing the information transfer clarity between the radon maps prepared with the predicted values through the model implementation, it was found that the maps plotted using the predicted values by the implementation of the IDW method had greater clarity in terms of highness and lowness of radon concentration per area compared with the maps plotted by other methods. Conclusions: The radon management priority area suggests selecting a metropolitan city including an area with a high radon concentration.
Purpose: In order to compensate for the limitations of the risk assessment of hydrogen charging stations, it is proposed to apply business disaster reduction activities as a way to strengthen safety and business continuity for accidents that may occur during operation. Method: We explored the application of business disaster reduction activities that can reduce, eliminate, transfer, and accept risks by classifying risks according to the passage of time in the installation and operation of hydrogen charging stations, identifying key tasks, deriving risk scenarios. Result: Existing research results are appropriately applied to the risk assessment conducted in the stage before the installation of hydrogen charging stations. However, there is a limit to the risks that can occur at the operational stage, so applying business disaster reduction activities with several example scenarios has resulted in that it can be applied as a way to strengthen safety and business continuity. Conclusion: All of the currently implemented risk assessments for hydrogen charging stations are being used appropriately. However, it proposes business disaster reduction activities that apply various risk scenarios as an evaluation and response to possible risks at the operational stage.
In order to evaluate the consistency of the serum estradiol pattern and response and to determine the influence of number of ovary on them in repeat cycles in the same patient, 57 cycles in 24 patients who underwent in Vitro Fertilization-Embryo Transfer or Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer in Seoul National University Hospital. The patients were stimulated by follicular stimulating hormone and human menopausal gonadotropin and classified as high(${\geqq}$400 pg/ml) and low(<400 pg/ml) response group according to preovulatory estradiol concentration and classified as three estradiol patterns (A,G.B) according to Jones criteria. Seventeen(89.5%) of 19 patients in when a high response to ovulation induction in their first cycle showed a high response. 40%(2/5) of the second ovulation induction cycle were low response in the patient whose first cycle resulted resulted in a low response. Serum estradiol pattern in the first ovulation induction cycle tended to be repeated in the second cycle. Women with high response tended to be more likely to have A and G patterns and less likely to have a cancellation than those with low response. One-ovary patients were at higher risk for inadequate ovulation induction response.

To monitor the possibility of horizontal gene transfer between transgenic potato and bacteria in the environment, the gene flow from glufosinate-tolerant potato to bacteria in soils was investigated. The soil samples treated with the leaf tissue of either glufosinate-tolerant or glufosinate-sensitive potato were subjected to PCR and Southern hybridization to determine possible occurrence of glufosinate-resistant soil bacteria and to detect the bar (phosphinothricin acetyltransferase) gene, conferring tolerance to glufosinate. The bar gene was not detected from genomic DNAs extracted at different time intervals from the soil samples, which had been treated with the leaf tissue of either transgenic or non-transgenic potato for 2 to 8 weeks. In addition, the level of glufosinate-resistant bacteria isolated from the soil samples treated with the leaf tissue of transgenic potato was similar to that of the samples treated with non-transgenic potato after 4 months of incubation at $25^{\circ}C$. The bar gene was not detected in the genomic DNAs extracted from colonies growing on the plate containing glufosinate, indicating that the bacteria could acquire the resistant phenotype to glufosinate by another mechanism without the uptake of the bar gene from glufosinate-tolerant potato.

The cultivation area and use of genetically modified (GM) crops have been increased continuously over the world and concerns about the potential risks of GM crops are also increasing. One of the major concern in risk assessment is the possible development of hybrids through interspecific and intergeneric crosses with related species. This study was conducted to investigate the pollinator have an influence on insect-mediated gene transfer from GM soybeans. Hybrid was induced from GM soybeans by honeybee and western flower thrips, and non-GM soybeans were used as pollen receptor. The analysis for gene-flow was conducted by herbicide selection, immunostrip test, and PCR analysis. In the result of the analysis, three hybrids were detected on the distance 15, 75, 105 cm from pollen source in western flower thrips treatment. In honeybee treatment, one hybrid was detected in the farthest distance (300 cm). These results suggested honeybee and western flower thrips have a possibility they can transfer the introduced gene from GM soybeans to non-GM soybeans.
