  • Shrink-rings (Stress-rings) are used in the fabrication of powder compaction dies to increase the allowable compaction pressures for a given die material. Optimum Procedures are used to insure that the stress distributions in the die and stress-rings ultilize fully the strength available in each of the die elements. Two criteria for the optimum die design are used: Maximum shear stress limit for one-piece dies and zero tensile stress limit for combined dies. Examples for each case are presented in this paper.

  • In this paper, we described an approach to design of precision optical system for visual inspection of solder joint defects of SMC(surface mount components) on PCBs(Printed Circuit Board). The illumination system, consisting of three tiered LED lamps and one main camera and four side view camera, is implemented to generated iso-contour on the solder joint according to gradient of the soldered surface. We analyze LED design parameter such as incident angle, diameter of LED ring, and so on to acquire uniform illumination.

  • The purpose of this study is not to understand functionalism from a simple program or effectiveness and economic perspective, but to reinterpret from a substantial perspective that modern architects assert commonly and to apply it to hospital design in a new way.

  • In this paper, a dual-frequency printed slot antenna loaded with an open-ring conducting strip and capacitively fed by a coplanar waveguide(CPW) is designed. The designed antenna has a bandwidth of 240㎒(1690㎒-1930㎒) at PCS frequency band and of 160㎒(2380㎒-2540㎒) at WLAN frequency band. In both frequency ranges, pattern and gain requirements are satisfied. The commercial software, IE3D, was used to design slot antenna. The predicted characteristics along with measured data are presented for verification purpose.

  • In recent years, the design of CMOS VCO at ever-higher frequencies has gained interest. This paper proposes an arithmetic functionality VCO circuit based on a differential ring oscillator for operating in high frequency. The proposed VCO architecture with half adder is able to produce two times higher frequency with my delay cell than conventional VCO produce double oscillation frequency and power dissipation is 14.59mW.

  • Minimum clearance between the U-cup seal groove of a piston and a cylinder bore to ensure against extrusion of the U-cup ring and leakage of working fluids is an important design parameter for a seal designer in hydraulic cylinder applications. Therefore, typical U-cup seal of a hydraulic actuator has been analyzed as a function of a sealing gap using the nonlinear FEM software MARC. In this study, the useful design data were presented as a function of the sealing gap and the sealed hydraulic pressure.
