알칼리 정제(精製)와 에스테르화에 의한 미강유의 이화학적(理化學的) 특성(特性)의 비교(比較) (Comparison of Physicochemical Characteristics of Alkali Refined and Esterified Rice Bran Oils)

  • 알칼리 처리와 글리세린으로 에스테르화 반응을 시킨 탈산공정에 의하여 정제한 각 미강유의 이화학적 항수 및 지방질 조성을 비교하였다. 비중 및 굴절율은 글리세린처리미강유가 알칼리정제미강유보다 높았고, 색도는 글리세린처리미강유가 알칼리정제미강유보다 훨씬 진한 황색도를 나타내었으며, 발연점은 알칼리정제미강유가 글리세린처리미강유보다 60${\sim}80^{\circ}C$높았다. 유리지방산의 함량은 알칼리정제미강유(0.05%)보다 글리세린처리미강유(0.88${\sim}$1.36%)가 높았으며, 왁스는 알칼리정제미강유에서는 검출되지 않았으나 글리세린처리미강유에서는 soft wax가 0.600${\sim}$0.871%, hard wax가 0.035%${\sim}$0.486% 함유되어 있었다. 알칼리 정제미강유와 글리세린처리미강유의 중성지방질, 당지방질 및 인 지방질의 함량은 큰 차이가 없었다. 중성지방질중의 TG 함량은 알칼리정제미강유(96.3%)가 글리세린처리미강유(93.0${\sim}$94.1%)보다 많았으며 MG함량은 알칼리정제미강유(0.11%)가 글리세린처리미강유(0.39${\sim}$0.69%)보다 낮았다. 알칼리 정제미강유와 글리세린처리미강유의 주요지방산은 올레산, 리놀레산, 팔미트산 이었으며 처리방법에 따라 큰 차이가 없었다.

Effects of Graded Levels of Rice Bran Oil on Laying Performance, Blood Parameters and Egg Yolk Cholesterol in Hy-Line Laying Hens

  • This study aimed to determine the effect of different dietary level of rice bran extract (RBO) on the laying performance, egg quality, blood parameter, cholesterol, and fatty acids in yolk of Hy-Line Laying hens. In all, 144 Hy-Line Brown laying hens (29 weeks old) were randomly allocated to one of 4 dietary treatments, with 4 replicates per treatment. A commercial basal diet was used and three additional diets were prepared by supplementing 2.5, 5.0 or 10.0 g/kg of RBO to the basal diet. The experimental diets were fed on an ad libitum basis to the bird during 8 weeks. Hen-day egg production increased (quadratic, p<0.05) with inclusion level of RBO, but feed intake, egg weight, and egg mass were not influenced by inclusion of level of RBO in diet. However, the supplementation of RBO did not have an effect on eggshell strength, eggshell thickness, egg yolk color, and HU during the feeding trial. There were no significant differences in the level of leukocyte. However, heterophil and lymphocytes decreased (quadratic, p<0.01) with inclusion level of RBO. H:L ratio tended to decrease (linear p=0.08) with inclusion level of RBO. As expected, increasing inclusion level of RBO in diets decreased (linear, p<0.01) the concentrations of total cholesterol in plasma. AST, ALT, glucose, and albumin were not affected by inclusion of RBO in diets. Egg yolk cholesterol increased (linear and quadratic, p<0.05) with inclusion level of RBO in diet. The results of this study indicate that dietary supplementation of RBO improves laying performance and decreased total cholesterol and egg yolk cholesterol levels in laying hens. Therefore, dietary RBO is considered a valuable functional ingredient to improve the performance of birds.

미강유, 팜스테아린 및 고올레인산 해바라기씨유를 이용한 저트랜스 유지의 효소적 합성 (Enzymatic Synthesis of Low Trans Fats Using Rice Bran Oil, Palm Stearin and High Oleic Sunflower Seed Oil)

  • 미강유, 팜스테아린 및 고올레인산 해바라기씨유의 효소적 interesterification을 통하여 저트랜스 유지를 합성하였고, 합성 시 Thermomyces lanuginose로부터 획득된 TLIM 효소를 이용하였다. 반응 기질의 비율에 따라 합성된 저트랜스 유지의 solid fat content(SFC)를 살펴본 결과, 전체적으로 고올레인산 해바라기씨유의 비율이 높아질수록 각 온도에 해당하는 SFC는 감소하는 경향을 보인 반면, 팜스테아린의 비율이 높아질수록 SFC는 증가하는 경향을 보였다. DSC를 통한 흡열 및 발열 곡선 분석결과, 팜스테아린의 함량이 높아질수록 피크가 높은 온도 쪽으로 이동하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 저트랜스 유지의 지방산 조성을 살펴본 결과, palmitic acid(C16:0), oleic acid(C18:1), linoleic acid(C18:2)가 주요 지방산들로써 전체 지방산 조성의 90% 이상을 차지하고 있었고, 총 트랜스지방산은 비율별로 0.5 area%의 수치를 보이며, 1% 미만의 낮은 함량을 보였다. Triacylglycerol (TAG) 조성을 reverse-phase HPLC를 이용하여 분석한 결과, 주요 TAG 조성은 OOL, PLO, PLP, OOO, POO, POP, POS 등으로 측정되었으며, 그 중 PLO와 POO 및 POP가 전체 조성의 50% 이상을 차지하였다. 한편, 여러 비율별로 합성된 저트랜스 유지의 총 tocopherol은 $6.94{\sim}11.83$ mg/100 g의 함량을 보였고, oryzanol은 $0.18{\sim}0.49$ mg/100 g의 함량을 보였으며, phytosterol 함량은 전체적으로 $182.48{\sim}269.07$ mg/100 g 사이의 다양한 수치를 나타내었다.

식물성유지(植物性油脂)가 토끼의 성장(成長)과 혈당(血糖)에 미치는 영향 (Effect of dietary vegetable oil on the Growth and Blood Glucose Level of Rabbit)

  • The effect of dietary vegetable oils on the growth and blood glucose level of rabbit was examed. This study was carried out to observe the nutritive effect of feeding vegetable oils for a period of weeks. The experimental diets were prepared on the basis of isocaloric and isonitrogenous diet. The Experimental animals were fed on 5 kinds of diets such as control (Basal), group A(Basal + sesame oil), group B(Basal + perilla oil), group C(Basal + soybean oil), and group D(Basal + rice bran on diets for 4 weeks. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. The gain in body weight of rabbit was higher for perilla oil fed group than any other group gained. 2. Liver weight of the control group, group A, group B, group C, and group D were 30.35 or 37.35 or, 37.25 or, 38.25 gr, 31.05 gr, and 39.54 gr, respectively. The reletionship between liver and body weight were 3.25, 3.99, 4.33, 4,15, and 4.57, respectively. It showed that to liver weight of group D which was fed rice bran oil was heavier than any other group showed. 3. The content of total protein and glucase level in serum of animal blood were 5.72 mg% 40.34 mg%, 5.65 mg%: 22.37 mg%, 5.95 mg%: 77.0 mg%. 5.62 mg%: 28.60 mg%, and 5.63 mg%: 34.10 mg%, respectively. As shown above, the group B was the most heaviest one. 4. It may be concluded from the above results that linolenic acid which was included in vegetable oils have an effect on interconversion among three caloric elements such as cabohydrate, protein, and fats.

  • The contents of sterols and stanols in vegetable oils and mist oil were analyzed by gas chromatography using a capillary column. The total sterol contents showed high values of 0.67~0.89g/100g in corn oil, rice bran oil, red pepper seed oil and sesame oil. Mist oil, a byproduct of soybean oil manufacture, was a suitable raw material for the production of stanol since it showed high sterol content (10.2g/100g). In the hydrogenation of sterol contained in mist oil using Pd catalyst, the effects saponification of oil were examined. The conversion of sterol to stanol was improved by a factor of 4~5 through saponification of oil, compared to the reaction without saponification.

바이오디젤유(미강유 에스테르)를 이용한 농업용 디젤기관의 연소 특성 (The Combustion Characteristics of Agricultural Diesel Engine using Biodiesel Fuel(Ester of Rice Bran Oil))

  • Biodiesel fuel as an alternative fuel for diesel engine has a great possibility to solve the problems such as air pollution. It is a domestically produced, renewable fuel that can be manufactured from vegetable oils, used vegetable oils, or animal fats. In this study, the usability of biodiesel fuel derived from rice bran oil as an alternative fuel for diesel engines was investigated in agricultural diesel engine. Emissions were characterized with neat biodiesel fuel and with a blend of biodiesel fuel and conventional diesel fuel. Since the biodiesel fuel includes oxygen of about 11%, it could influence the combustion process strongly. So, the use of biodiesel fuel resulted in lower emissions of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and smoke emissions without any increase of oxides of nitrogen. It is concluded that biodiesel fuel can be utilized effectively as a renewable and an environmentally Innocuous fuel for diesel engine.

유해배기가스 저감을 위한 Hole형 노즐의 미립화 특성실험 (Atomization Characteristics Experiment of Hole Type Nozzle for the Reduction of Harmful Exhausted Gas)

  • A simplified experiment was performed to figure out the atomization characteristics of rice-bran oil which it is highly viscous liquid by applying ultrasonic energy. A spray system, an ultrasonic system, and three kinds of hole-type nozzles(hole diameter: 0.31, 0.34, 0.37mm) were manufactured. To investigate the effects of ultrasonic energy on the atomization of a highly viscous liquid, a phase doppler particle analyzer was used for measurement and calculation of spray droplets data. Nozzle opening pressures were chosen of 3 levels, i.e, 16, 20, and 24MPa. As a result, it could be concluded that the ultrasonic energy was effective to improve the spray atomization when it applied to the fuel by means of 3 different nozzles because of the effects of the liquid fuel cavitation and relaxation between molecules caused by ultrasonic energy. The improvement rate of the spray atomization by the ultrasonic method compared with the conventional spray increased about 15% in the case of hole type nozzles. By increasing of the nozzle opening pressure and decreasing of the hole diameter, the atomization of spray droplets was improved.

Lipase-catalyzed Production of Solid Fat Containing Conjugated Linoleic Acid in Binary Models

  • Solid fats were esterified with solid phase of rice bran oil (S-RBO), palm stearin (PS), and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) at 2 substrate mole ratios (S-RBO:PS:CLA of 1:1:2 and 1:3:4). The major fatty acids were palmitic, oleic, and CLA in 36 hr products. The solid fat content (SFC) of the 1:1:2 product was 12.8% while the SFC of 1:3:4 product was 45.1% at $20^{\circ}C$. The SFCs after $20^{\circ}C$ reduced when the reaction time increased from 1 to 36 hr, suggesting that the change of triacylglycerol species was augmented by extending reaction time.

  • Mono-, diacylglycerol were synthesized by glycerolysis of bran oil and glycerol using IM60 (an immobilized lipase) in a stirred batch reactor for 72 hours. After glycerolysis, the composition TAG, DAG, MAG in product was 41.7%, 44.7%, and 11.1%, respectively. Glycerol was separated, then this mixture product was undergone fractionation for winterization followed. The fractionation was performed using hexane and acetone solvent to reduce palmitic acid at the low temperature for overnight individually. Temperature was set -40$^{\circ}C$, -14$^{\circ}C$, -8$^{\circ}C$ and 0$^{\circ}C$, respectively. By considering results from this experiments, fractionation with hexane at -8$^{\circ}C$ was most efficient regarding to yield without crystallization.

Effect of Replacing Til Oil Cake by Poultry Excreta on Growth and Nutrient Utilization in Growing Bull Calves

  • An experiment was conducted for 90 days using 9 growing bull calves (initial LW 71.5 kg) to investigate the effect of replacing til oil cake by poultry excreta on growth performance and nutrient utilization. The animals were randomly divided into three groups. The control group A was fed with conventional concentrate mixture containing til oil cake, rice bran, wheat bran, bone meal and common salt and the groups B and C were offered diets in which 50 and 100 percent of til oil cake of diet A were replaced by dried poultry excreta. All the animals were fed urea soaked rice straw ad libitum and concentrate mixture was given at the rate of 10 g per kg LW. Towards the end of growth trial a conventional digestibility trial was conducted. Average daily live weight gain was 216, 211 and 188 g for animals fed diets A, B and C, respectively. Average daily dry matter intake in groups A, B and C was 3.42, 3.37 and 3.30 kg per 100 kg LW, respectively. The daily live weight gain and dry matter intake did not differ significantly (p > 0.05) among the dietary groups. The digestibility coefficient for DM or NFE was almost similar but that for OM, CP, CF and EE was significantly different (p < 0.01) among the dietary groups. TDN percent in diets A, B and C was 57.3 53.3 and 50.8, respectively and the difference was significant (p < 0.01). Animals in all the groups were in a state of positive nitrogen balance. The results indicated that til oil cake can be replaced by dried poultry excreta in bull calf ration.
