뫼스바우어선원 적용을 위한 58Ni 표적체 및 Co가 확산된 Rh복합재 제조 (Synthesis of 58Ni Target and Co Diffused Rh Composite for Application of Mössbauer Source)

  • The en-riched $^{58}Ni$ powders are dissolved in acid solution and coated on a Cu target for proton irradiation at cyclotron to produce $^{57}Co$ radioisotope. The condition of the plating bath and the coating process are determined using the en-riched powders. To establish the coating conditions for $^{57}Co$, non-radioactive Co ions are dissolved in an acid solution and electroplated on to a rhodium plate. The thermal diffusion of electroplated Co into a rhodium matrix was studied to apply a $^{57}Co$ Mssbauer source. The diffusion depth from surface to matrix of Co is depended on the annealing temperature and time. The deposited Co atoms diffuse completely into a rhodium (Rh) matrix without substantial loss at an annealing temperature of 1200 for 4 hours.

Surface analysis of metal clips of ceramic self-ligating brackets

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the surface composition, roughness, and relative friction of metal clips from various ceramic self-ligating brackets. Methods: Six kinds of brackets were examined. The control group (mC) consisted of interactive metal self-ligating brackets while the experimental group (CC, EC, MA, QK, and WA) consisted of interactive ceramic self-ligating brackets. Atomic force microscopy-lateral force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy-energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy were used to analyze the surface of each bracket clip. Results: All the clips in the experimental groups were coated with rhodium except for the QK clip. The results showed that the QK clip had the lowest average roughness on the outer surface, followed by the MA, EC, WA, and CC clips. However, the CC clip had the lowest average roughness on the inner surface, followed by the QK, WA, MA, and EC clips. The QK clip also had the lowest relative friction on the outer surface, followed by the MA, EC, CC, and WA clips. Likewise, the CC clip had the lowest relative friction on the inner surface, followed by the QK, WA, MA, and EC clips. Conclusions: The surface roughness and relative friction of the rhodium-coated clips were generally higher than those of the uncoated clips.

A Study on the Chemisorption of Carbon Monoxide on Silica-Supported Rhodium

  • We have investigated the infrared absorption spectra for carbon monoxide chemisorbed on reduced and oxidized Rh/$SiO_2$ with and without potassium coating within the frequency range of 1800-2200 $cm^{-1}$ at various Rh concentrations, CO pressures, and temperatures. In case of no potassium coating, only two bands at 2070 and 1900 $cm^{-1}$ appeared for CO adsorbed on reduced Rh/$SiO_2$ while for oxidized Rh/$SiO_2$ four bands were found at 2100, 2070, 2040, and 1900 $cm^{-1}$. We have successfully tried to explain the differences between our observations and those by other investigators who used the Rh/$Al_2O_3$ system instead of Rh/$SiO_2$ on the basis of the suggestions by Yates et al. Accordingly, we propose that the surface OH groups are deeply involved in producing the $Rh^{+1}$ sites which are responsible for the gem-dicarbonyl species. On coating with potassium all the IR bands for three carbonyl species were found to suffer red shift, the magnitude of which increased with increasing Rh/CO ratio.

무기 금속 고분자 막을 도포시킨 유리질 탄소전극을 이용한 메탄올과 L-ascorbic acid의 양극 산화 거동에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Anodic Oxidation Behavior of Methanol and L-Ascorbic Acid by Using Glassy Carbon Electrodes Modified with Inorganic-Metal Polymeric Films)

  • 본 연구에서는 유리질 탄소 전극 표면에 혼성원자가를 가지는 무기 금속 고분자 막을 도포한 변형전극을 제조하고, 이들 변형전극의 전기화학적인 특성을 순환 전압 전류법으로 조사하였다. 그리고 이들 변형전극들을 작업전극으로 하여 메탄올과 L-ascorbic acid의 양극산화 거동을 조사하였다. Mixed valence rethenium oxo/cyanoruthenate(mv Ru-O/CN-Ru) 막, mv ruthenium oxo/cyanoferrate(mv Ru-O/$Fe(CN)_6$) 막, 및 mv ruthenium oxo/cyanoruthenate/Rhodium(mv Ru-O/CN-Ru/Rh) 막을 각각 도포하는 과정은 지정된 전위범위를 50 mV/sec의 주사속도로 전위를 걸어줌으로써 쉽게 도포할 수 있었으며, 동일한 과정을 반복 주사함으로써 막의 두께를 조절 하였다. 메탄올의 양극 산화거동을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같았다. mv Ru-O/CN-Ru 변형전극에서 메탄올의 검정곡선은 농도 기울기가 $-7.552{\mu}A/mM$로서 10 mM에서 80 mM 까지의 농도범위에서 비교적 좋은 감도를 보였다. mv Ru-O/$Fe(CN)_6$ 변형 전극의 경우에 농도 기울기는 $-5.13{\mu}A/mM$ 이었지만, 농도에 대한 전류관계의 직선 범위는 10 mM에서 100 mM까지로서 Ru 고분자 막 변형전극보다 더 넓은 범위에서 좋은 직선관계를 보였다. mv Ru-O/CN-Ru 막을 두 종류의 바탕전극에 각각 도포한 변형전극에 대하여 L-ascorbic acid의 양극 산화거동을 조사한 결과, 유리질 탄소 전극에 Ru 고분자 막을 입힌 변형전극이 Rh 막을 도포한 유리질 탄소전극에 Ru 고분자 막을 입힌 변형전극(mv Ru-O/CN-Ru/Rh)에서 보다 감도가 예민하였다. Ru 고분자 막 변형전극을 사용했을 경우에 검정곡선은 0.1 mM에서 5 mM 까지의 L-ascorbic acid 농도 범위에서 직선관계를 보였고, 기울기와 상관계수는 각각 $-84.78{\mu}A/mM$, 0.998이었다.
